Hungry now but I'm already in bed so will ignore it. Today I've had:
Breakfast: Porridge with wheat bran made with almond milk
Lunch: Chicken salad (just spicy chicken breast and spinach), bbq nut mix, strawberries, one square of 85% chocolate, and a sugar free vanilla iced latte with only 100ml milk
Dinner: Scrambled eggs with low fat cheddar, red onion chutney and spinach, with a toasted sandwich thin
And an activist yoghurt as a snack.
Total cals 1203
Itching to weigh tomorrow because I want to see a change, even if it's just the rest of that first lb. But in the morning I'll probably be too lazy to anyway.

Triskaidekaphilia · 09/01/2018 00:12

*Activia yogurt, as far as I know my yoghurts do not support any particular cause Grin

Just weighed myself (TMI warning: after a massive poo Blush) and I'm 12st4.6! 1lb yes than Sunday morning Smile hope it sticks!

Not2bObvious · 09/01/2018 06:25

Morning all. Just about to get up and go for a run (hoping I don’t freeze!) Scales stick on 11.9.4 the last 2 days but I have a salty meal for dinner last night so probably some water retention. 3 more WI’s to make a difference on last Fridays 11.8.4 - still in a great New Years mindset, long may it last!
Niki can I ask do you have a particular body image you’re aiming for or a scale weight? I’ve been thinking a lot about that for me. I’m my head I’d love to be 9.11 but looking at my body (heavy legs, lots of chub around the mid section) I don’t know if more is needed to get closer to the shape I’d like. Of course that’s been my goal for what feels like forever! Never made it but this year I will

TheDonald · 09/01/2018 07:19

Morning all. Just caught up on the thread.

Well done everyone. Great to see so much January motivation. KOKO glad you are feeling more positive. I think sometimes we can get caught up in diet industry / body shaming negativity and let it get us down. That's what I like about this thread. It's really positive, not full of gimicky expensive rubbish or pressure to follow one diet. Just women (I assume) supporting each other. Best thread on mumsnet Grin

Niki that's a great compliment from your PT but it really made me think. I've revised my goal weight down twice now. The first time was because I'd set quite a high goal weight to make it more achievable and the second time because I felt when I got there I could stand to lose more. I'm only 2lb off now but I think I'll drop it another 4lb after that.

I'm very conscious that in the past I have either kept dieting too long and gone too thin, then stopped and piled it on again. I don't seem to be able to maintain because I can't control my weight without the reward of a lower scale reading if that makes sense.

I'm really determined this time that I'm going to get to a healthy weight and then maintain. I don't aim to be a size 8 or anything, just a healthy bmi and for my weight not to impact on my running. I just don't know how to move from dieting to maintaining.

HairsprayBabe · 09/01/2018 07:19

Morning all, I forget how fast we move in January!

That is great news Niki, maybe go with measurements for a bit and see how you get on?

10.4 for me, hoping to get down to 10 again this week, no weekend plans so should have a golden weekend and then back into the 9s next week?
That is the theory in any case 😂

BeyondWW · 09/01/2018 08:16

Weighing in, total of 6.6lbs down. I love the first week (and a bit)!!
I've nearly reached my December low now :)

Kikisdeliveries · 09/01/2018 08:33

Koko I hope today feels more positive for you (((hugs))))

Last well done! Sounds like the new job is a success

Niki that's very cool. You can still lose inches but gain in muscle mass which might be a better focus than the scales where you're at? You've clearly completely transformed your body profile over the last year or so.

Trisk sounds like you're on target, well done!

Good to see you back quim! I was starting to wonder what happened to you!

Mondays can feel like a lot of pressure sometimes, especially if the weekend has been full on so good luck with it it today everyone, hope people stop bringing their naughty food into work! Remember, we are not dustbins!

I had a blip yesterday, felt like I ate loads and came in at 1800, which is not horrific. I think mixing it up is good though as I've had a seriously golden week prior to that. Back to 1200-1400 today though.

Kikisdeliveries · 09/01/2018 08:44

Half a Linda up. That'll learn me...

twinkledag · 09/01/2018 08:57

I lost 4lbs Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 09/01/2018 09:11

Well done twinkle Star

Oh no KiKi what's occurring?

KoKo how's today looking for you?

I see you Quim Grin

I've lost 4.6 Lindas since my post-Christmas weigh in of doom last Tuesday. One more to go to be back at pre-Christmas weigh. 8 to go to goal. Come ON BOOP!

Not much hope of a good day today. It's DD1's 18th birthday and she's meeting me in the pub after school to buy me a drink!

BeyondWW · 09/01/2018 09:26

Who's gonna run the threads when you're at goal, BOOP?! 😱

Kikisdeliveries · 09/01/2018 09:29

Awesome work boop! I'm still down 6.5 Lindas** from Xmas so all is well really! Just need to not be complacent. It also occurred to me that I don't usually log the increases (ie bury head in sand) so I'm switching that up to see if it helps.

comeagainforbigfudge · 09/01/2018 10:21

Glad you in a better place today KOKO

Happy 18th boopDD! Gin

I won't tell you what I ended up having for dinner last night. Was tasty but most set unhealthy.

So far today 2 slices of wholemeal bread and 2 cups of tea Blush

Dinner will be homemade chicken goujons with dry-as-possible-fried aubergine and butternut squash "chips"

Lunch has yet to be thought of. Probably salad with feta for me and bread n Philly cheese for fudgeDD

I should really change my user name HmmGrin

NewYearNiki · 09/01/2018 10:38

Gosh because I have been away over Christmas and New Year I have been useless at keeping up with the thread. Will try best keep up.

Happy B.day to BOOPs dd. Hope she has a wonderful day.

BitOutOfPractice · 09/01/2018 12:24

Thanks for the birthday wishes for DD. I've just made myself cry writing her card Blush She's so excited about buying me a drink. I've just picked up some 18 balloons to take to the pub. And her cake just arrived it looks fabulous

I've been to the gym and done a treadmill HIIT class. I'm trying to keep it golden today because we are going out tonight and I intend to eat, drink and be merry

Beyond you won't get rid of me that easy - I can't leave the best thread on MN. I'll need help maintaining!

QuimReaper · 09/01/2018 12:26

Yes, sorry for that long radio silence Blush I was off the wagon pretty solidly from Christmas to early Jan and then kept coming on to catch up and getting sidetracked before I reached the bottom of the thread! I'm here now and determined to kick these 2 kilos!

Happy birthday to BabyBoop!

comeagain I must say seeing the word "fudge" all the time must be a challenge to your resolve Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 09/01/2018 12:35

I don't really like fudge. Is that weird?

Welcome home Quimster

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 09/01/2018 13:05

BOOP I'm not a huge fan of it really, it is SO sweet and rich and as you know I'm not a huge sweet tooth, but when I'm feeling hungry and a bit deprived I can fantasise about almost anything edible as long as it's forbidden...

I love my home made fudge, but I add a lot of salt to it....

Fast day today, and it is HARD... feel like my body is screaming "Why did you torture me with cheese for two weeks now we are dying?!?!

I am having a very lazy dinner,
roasted cauliflower and broccoli
35g of grated cheese
mashed pumpkin

Might have an early night along with it if I don't die of starvation before then!

BeyondWW · 09/01/2018 13:31

I love fudge. The kind of fudge shops you find in Devon and Cornwall - I could happily live in one of them Grin

Kikisdeliveries · 09/01/2018 13:55

ROASTED CAULIFLOWER! That's what I want to eat, thanks hairspray!

Happy birthday to miniboop!

IheartCaptainHolt · 09/01/2018 14:20

Weighed in today and 3.5lb off which is all the xmas weight off so I'm very pleased with that!
