It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

Morning all,

sol your food intake yesterday looks great.

yes sit down. The wedding starts at 14.00, then prosecco and beer welcome reception, sit down for 16.30 then evening guests arrive at 7.30 do starts at 20.00 then finish at 1.00. We wanted something that reflects us, the do was expensive but he is so good (heard him in a night out and I stalked him) I just want everyone to have a good time.

I hope you guys don't mind me sharing my wedding ideas?

pom I'm being good mon - Thursday I'm trying not to consume over 1000 cals and having 2 exante and 1 meal

Racheyg · 22/05/2018 08:24

I've had a slight change of heart with the wedding dresses. It's in a pub so I need something that I can freely move in. Just a thought has anyone seen Jenny packman dresses? Not sure if they would look good on my fingers?

https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Luxury-Jenny-Packham-Designer-Wedding-Dress-Giralda-strapless-size-8UK-2900/323205463948?trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dda44ba6cd2dc480b8012b449460a8e23%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D323205463948%26itm%3D323205463948&&trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&trkparms=pageci%3A80105dfe-5d90-11e8-9c7c-74dbd180e375%7Cparentrq%3A86b7d2741630a9924378d19cffff4e93%7Ciid%3A1

I love this dress but it's tiny.

m.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-TAGS-Jenny-Packham-Embellished-Muscari-Wedding-Dress-Gown-UK-12-RRP-3950-/273204816227

This dress is very nice and my size. Not sure whether these dresses are for tall skinny women?

Pomegranatepompom · 22/05/2018 09:03

I love love love the first one !

SolitudeSometimesIs · 22/05/2018 12:05

Is this not the same dress three times or am I doing something wrong?

It looks lovely when you can see it in proper colour as opposed to the one in the filter. Can you find something similar for sale in a shop and trying on?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 22/05/2018 12:42

The size 8 strapless comes up 3 times for me too. It’s lovely though.
I think I think I prefer the first one though (with the straps and beading)
I don’t know much about Jenny Packham, too expensive for me!

It might be a better idea to get something that’s easier to move around especially if you want to dance.

I love the bridesmaids dresses, flowers and menu. I like hearing about wedding stuff.

Glad you had a good holiday Sol. You still sound really focused the 8lb will be gone in no time.

I feel the same about the BSD Pom. It sounds great but time consuming.mif I’m going to put that much effort in I’d like to eat more calories!

I’m up for doing something serious for 2 weeks. It might have to be Exante.

I’m not ignoring your post about anxiety from last week. I’ll try to reply properly later today.

Trying to get the house sorted before we go away so I’m not too stressed this weekend. Does anyone find that a clear floor is an invitation for their children to drag even more toys out?

Got my toenails gelled today, brows shaped and lashes lifted. Fingernails are being done later this week. I might even get round to putting some fake tan on!

Pomegranatepompom · 22/05/2018 14:26

Glad you've spent time on you Green Exciting !

Click the very first bit of the link Sol Sorry I wasn't very clear in my post, I meant I'm sure some of your 8lbs will be false weight, you are very motivated to get straight back to dieting !

I had a vague idea. We could work out our own diet plan and try to stick to for a week and see if it's successful. We could have. range of meals ie
Bfast aim for 200 cals - yogurt & fruit or eggs for example
Lunch aim for 200 Soup/Salad
Snack 100 cals nts/fruit
Dinner 300 cals stir fry/ protein & veg

Post what we've had each day to try and stay on track?

Racheyg · 23/05/2018 08:33

Morning all,

Yesterday went alittle off track had alcohol and a veggie burger. It my mums 60th and see is in London so went to me my parents. Wasn't expecting to eat and drink but I caved Blush

Thanks for your thoughts on the dresses green they are way out of my budget normally but I'm looking on eBay and have seen a few for about £500. I love the fact you have taken time to spend on yourself, I love getting my nails done and stuff.

I agree as soon as I've cleared up the kids decided to get lots of stuff out. Angry

sol I agree the 8lbs will go quick. As soon as you get back on it and lower carb and alcohol.

pom - let's do it. I will post every day and honest account of my food and drink intake. I'm really going to try and be mindful as my wedding is getting closer and I'm getting bigger Grin

The first dress I posted is on ebay for £500.00 in a size 10........argh do I risk it?

Breakfast
Exante vanilla shake with a shot of coffee

Lunch
Exante ham and mushroom soup

Dinner
Chicken Cesar salad

I will post a true account later Grin

Racheyg · 23/05/2018 11:53

Already fallen at the first hurdle

Had my shake then a handful of hummus crisps and 3x rice cakes (1 with peanut butter on)

Greenrabbit · 23/05/2018 15:52

That’s not so bad Rachey just do the rest of the day like you planned.

Could you find somewhere to try on some JP dresses to get an idea of the fit? Or get the actual dress measurements to compare against yourself?
My SIL did that when buying her dress. She bought a sample dress from a wedding shop through EBay.

How is everything going Sol?

Pom how are you?
I can’t actually remember half of what I was going to say about anxiety. But last year I did remove myself from a situation that was causing me lots of stress. I was feeling down because of it but worried about what others would think.
I feel happier now I’ve done it though. I still worry about silly things all the time.

Racheyg · 23/05/2018 19:03

Ok, I will start again tomorrow, I have not stopped eating today I'm so disappointed in myself. Will post more tonight after putting boys to bed

SolitudeSometimesIs · 24/05/2018 06:27

I can't stop eating either. DS2 has been waking at 3am since Sunday (he's in bed with me now having his breakfast) and I am in bits. I'm desperately trying to avoid sugar but I've had quite a few wholegrain carbs as I actually feel like I'm going to keel over. I was in bed asleep at 9.05 last night and when DH came in from work I didn't even hear him. My goal this week is not to gain any weight, I'm not fussed if I lose any.

Oh Green you must be so excited about your holiday, your beauty prep sounds lovely. Having my eyebrows done makes me feel like a new woman. And yes, my kids drag out all their stuff when the place is tidy. We do a 10 minute tidy before they go up for bath time though. It involves me dramatically brandishing a brush telling them I'll sleep up whatever is left on the floor, it works quite well.

Rachey can you try on any of the designers dresses to get a feel of the size. My size 8 friend ended up in a size 14 wedding dress due to her boobs being so big. And the dress from eBay might have been altered.

I'll post my meals Pom, it might keep me on track. I would be too embarrassed to write down any crap I eat so it would keep me away from the biscuits.

Oh my God! DS2 has fallen asleep and I have to get up for my shower. I could actually cry Sad

Greenrabbit · 24/05/2018 13:05

Poor you Sol. Well done for avoiding sugar though. I’d be needed more than whole grain carbs!

I hope tonight is better for you.

Pomegranatepompom · 24/05/2018 18:46

I definitely be reaching for sugar too - you poor thing. I've had a hectic/stressful few days at work and eaten rubbish. I'm starting tomorrow and will post what I eat too !

Back later, on train now!

SolitudeSometimesIs · 25/05/2018 06:42

I think yesterday will go down in history as the day I ate a toast mountain. I was up to about 8 slices by bedtime last night. It was all I wanted as it was quick and easy. But I managed a salad and veggie burger for dinner and a handful of nuts before bed. Thankfully i got some sleep last night but it doesn't feel like enough.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Pomegranatepompom · 25/05/2018 08:55

pom I really wish I could join you on this weekend but I'm taking the boys away so I do t think a diet will stick Grin ill be back on it on Tuesday

Just heading into my spin class be back soon x

EllaNB · 25/05/2018 10:06

Hello all :)

Glad I found this thread! I’m a new FTM and have 10 month old twins and sadly I weigh more now than when I was 8 months pregnant! I lost all the baby weight almost instantly as I didn’t put much weight on during my pregnancy aside from the babies. Well here’s the thing over the last 10 months I’ve gained so much weight. I’m getting bigger and bigger. I try to diet and quit by the end of the day. I know stress / emotional eating is my issue.

Looking for some support to get me on the right track and lose some weight finally. Am I in the right place? Xx

Pomegranatepompom · 25/05/2018 18:07

Welome Ella Give yourself some slack, you must be exhausted ! How much to you want to lose? Have you tried low carbing? I imagine you can't cut calories too much, are you bf?

Enjoy your weekend Rachey Hope spin class was good.

I've been pretty good.
Yogurt & fruit 300 cals
Snacks totalling around 300 cals (grapes, cashew nuts, 2 squares of chocolate).
Might just have more yogurt later.

Greenrabbit · 26/05/2018 22:16

Hi everyone.

Sol hope you’ve had some decent sleep. Toast is so easy. It’s better than nothing and you need to eat.

How are you Rachey? We go on Monday. We’re very excited. Where have you gone to for the weekend? Have fun!

Pom DD sounds sweet. We woke up with both DDs today! Plus many soft toys.
How is the diet going? You’re brave for starting on the bank holiday. I’m sure you can squeeze in some Prosecco!

Welcome Ella twins must be tough. Do you have anyone to help you? Don’t be too hard on yourself though.

I haven’t weighed myself for weeks. Or been very careful with food.
I did try on some trousers I’d bought a few weeks ago and they felt looser today so I’m pleased with that.
I’m really looking forward to all the food on holiday Grin.
I want to make some big lifestyle changes when we get back.
I lost another relation on Friday (it’s been a bad year so far). Life is too short to not look after ourselves properly x

Racheyg · 29/05/2018 08:42

Morning all,

green hope you have a great time in Florida. Can't wait to hear all about it.

pom how was your bank holiday weekend? Well done on starting fresh. Your dd sounds so cute. I normally get woken up with a dinosaur or dragon shoved in my face Grin

sol how's ds sleeping? I hope you were able to have a nice relaxing weekend?

I have been really bad this weekend and it was ds2 3rd birthday yesterday so I didn't re start my diet yesterday.

Today is a new day. I'm back on the exante 2 times and low carb meal in the evening.

I have to do something otherwise I will never squeeze into a dress.

Today:
Breakfast - vanilla shake
Lunch - sweet and sour noodles
Dinner - salad or fruit and Greek yogurt

I'm so tired I need copious amounts of coffee today

Racheyg · 29/05/2018 12:52

Ok tiredness has got the better of me and I have had 3 chocolates Blush will try to stick to the rest of my plan

Pomegranatepompom · 29/05/2018 14:38

Quick message - I've not been great either, horrible cold and feeling washed out. Really need to get motivation back ...

Pomegranatepompom · 29/05/2018 15:32

Green sorry to hear your sad news, what a difficult time you have had. I hope you have an amazing holiday. Looking forward to starting our (alone with Rachey and Sol [grin} lifestyle changes when you are back.

Rachey hope DS had a great birthday. I honestly think you are so har on yourself about your weight, you look great in the pics you posted.

I am going to need to go carb free again to lose weight, I'm just maintaining at the mo, despite running 3 x week.

How are you Sol ?Hope DS slept better over the weekend.

Racheyg · 29/05/2018 17:36

green wow I've just re read your post. I'm sorry to hear a family member past away. I hope it doesn't effect your mood on holiday and you dh and the kids can still have a good time.

pom I know how you feel, I don't lose weight unless I do something drastic like fasting/low carbing. I think our bodies are used to the exercise. I though doing 5 1/2 hours of exercise a week would see me super slim but that I ant the case.

How are you charting? I keep forgetting my fitness pal I need to really get my head in the game Grin

sol how's your Tuesday going?

ella welcome, I agree with green and pom* you need to be kind to yourself, you have twins. Can you try 5:2
