I seem to have bounced up a lb or 2.

Cant go to gym when in pain and now have a locum job which has all put paid to my exercise routine.

HairsprayBabe · 23/11/2017 10:23

If you have an infection there will be inflammation and swelling Niki so water retention and therefore weight gain.

I had the same last year with a UTI it should pass quickly once the antibiotics have done their job Flowers Congrats on the job front BTW! Could you run at lunch or something? If not it will just have to be early mornings/evenings etc...

Good work Boop I am upping the water today, it felt like I drank loads yesterday but the cups at the hotel were small so I think it was less than usual.

NamasteNiki · 23/11/2017 12:29

I am getting AF in a couple of days too. May be why.

I just did some black Friday retail therapy. Needed some boots a new jacket so kind of justifiable.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 23/11/2017 12:30

Hello all! I'm STS again. Doing a fast day today, hopefully that will give me a bit of a push in the right direction!

Niki you poor thing, that sounds absolutely horrible! Did the dentist repack it last night?

Well done poorpaws and BOOP!

My appetite has finally receded a bit, what a relief! Snuck onto the Suspicious Scales this morning and was pleased, so hoping for a successful weigh-in tomorrow.

koko do you have a slow cooker? Prepping dinner earlier in the day (or first thing in the morning, or over the weekend to make freezer bags) would help, then there's no grey area while dinner's cooking. That really helped me when I found I was "being good" all day but then nibbling on huge amounts of cheese whilst I was prepping dinner: then it's just a question of avoiding the fridge until dinner time and then diving into the slow cooker.

Was it just nuts though? I think nuts are a perfectly reasonable snack! I used to eat great hunks of Cheddar or Boursin whilst cooking.

I really think you would benefit from building snacks into your day, particularly scheduled around your Danger Times. If you portion them out in advance, literally pour out as many nuts or whatever as you're allowed rather than digging into the bag and trying to stop with will power alone, then you don't need to worry about spiralling, which sounds like a problem for you, and there's no reason at all why you can't lose weight whilst snacking. I remember I used to follow a blogger who did a Weight Loss Challenge and she used one of those companies who deliver your food to you every day (obviously they gave it to her for free as promotion). She specifically said she was surprised to find a morning and afternoon snack built into the programme, because she'd always shied away from snacking, but she lost 7lbs in the first week. I wish the posts were still up!

As I recall she failed ultimately, but it goes to show if you build snacks into your calorie allowance they can really help.

QuimReaper · 23/11/2017 16:04

koko Put the kettle on and have a green or peppermint tea right now!

What exactly have you eaten already today, and what exactly are you planning for dinner?

koko Grin There goes my slow cooker idea!

Sounds like you definitely have leeway for a snack if you want one to tide you over until dinner. Where are you? At home or at work? Can you get your hands on a bag of popcorn? Or one of those little Wentworth things the others are keen on?

BitOutOfPractice · 23/11/2017 17:02

Koko here to help.**

Boil an egg and go and stride round the block while it's cooking.**

Then eat it with loads of lovely salt on it washed down with a pint of water.* You'll not want to snack then.*

Come on, you've got this.** Just one Golden day and you're up and running

Poor and KOKO - I’m at the bottom of the class too but I’m still here and still reading! Just moved house which is a major disruption but I am trying. Will report a loss as soon as I find the scales 🤦‍♀️

QuimReaper · 23/11/2017 18:53

BOOP that's exactly what I was going to suggest but I know I've got a bit of a reputation Blush

Hairspray it gets very very very slow when you get to that weight the only thing that shifted it quickly for me when I was light back in Feb was the wisdom tooth Diet!

Been pretty good day, getting my head back in the game

poorpaws · 23/11/2017 22:27

KOKO you are sounding so much more positive, good for you, and a lot of good advice given. I don’t mind being at the front with you and Twinkle, we’ll be running this place soon ala St Trinians 😉

Did very well today until 9 o’clock when the chocolate monster tapped me on the shoulder. ☹️

BitOutOfPractice · 23/11/2017 23:21

KOKO how did the evening go?!?!

Morning went slightly awol when I had some late good news and we went to the pub not the gym

Still within calories and all on track

BitOutOfPractice · 23/11/2017 23:22

Mine.

Not morning

NamasteNiki · 23/11/2017 23:53

I got sent home from work on agony today.

If anyone fancies some quick weightloss, get wisdom teeth pulled and develop nerve problems after.

I lost 3lbs in one week.

BitOutOfPractice · 24/11/2017 05:37

Niki you can't go on like this love.** It sounds awful Sad what's the dentist doing?

OP posts:
NamasteNiki · 24/11/2017 07:44

BOOP nothing! Ive not even been able to get an appointment. The hospital discharged me with no follow up. I went to my.GP for prescription pain relief and he bit my head off saying it was a dental issue and i shouldn't have come.

BitOutOfPractice · 24/11/2017 08:23

I think you need to ring your dentist and beg for an emergency appointment. Cry on the phone if necessary. You can't carry on with this pain

OP posts:
SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 24/11/2017 09:37

I agree with Boop, you can't be expected to put up with that pain Niki. If it's dry socket have they repacked it?
