Big congrats Kiki! When did you start doing Karate?

KOKO I'm sorry you are having a rough time. Please don't leave the thread though. You'll just feel worse for giving up.

Don't berate yourself for not doing well, instead try to get to the bottom of why it is that you derail each afternoon. Does is happen around the same time? Is it boredom? Are you having a blood sugar crash at that time?

Hang in there. It's really rough when you feel like you start each day afresh and then give up halfway through (we have all been there!!!) but you CAN do this. Ultimately, this is YOUR body and it is up to YOU what do with it & what you put into it!

You are the boss😀

KikisDeliveryService · 22/11/2017 09:25

Happy I'm TaeKwonDo (very similar to Karate) - I started just under 4 years ago.

I've been a bit lax with my congratulations to others on this thread lately, but it's been really great to see all the losses and just wanted to say a big well done to those having a positive month, and also hugs and/or motivational kick up the bum to those not having such a good time of it. I warn you, those kicks are a force to be reckoned with Grin Shock

I am less than a Linda away from seeing 10s. I am not planning 3 hours of training today so better be careful with the calories going in now if I want to continue the downward trend.

Softpebbles · 22/11/2017 09:42

KIKI Congratulations - well done, you must feel amazing.

KOKO - please stay, like BOOP says set a smaller target, a few more steps a day, not eating crisps.

I struggle to stay focus mainly I think because of what is going on in my personal life. I always have a kit Kat at work in the afternoon with a cup of tea and I allow the calories for that. My bad time is when I get home from work and I pick and stuff. Trust me you aren't alone.

I'm still 10st 12. it is so slow. Mainly because of my snackage! Three hard gym sessions and a few runs isn't making it go any faster!

HairsprayBabe · 22/11/2017 10:56

9.12 sts
Had pudding with lunch yesterday will be better today....

HappyGowerGirl · 22/11/2017 11:30

59kg exactly for me today😮 That's 9.4, I am very happy with that.

Wondering whether to make this my goal weight. Goal was originally 9 stone exactly however I've aged a little since I last weighed 9 stone 😂 and I'm not sure my face could get away with it😀 Current BMI is 19.9.

Also, my goal was not so much about weight but more about feeling good (I do!), fitting into my pre-kids clothes (I do!) and running faster (I am!).

So yeah, maybe I'm there!😮Star

KikisDeliveryService · 22/11/2017 11:43

Well done happy!!! Maintaining is work in itself (I failed last time!) so if you feel great and healthy then that’s awesome. Yay! Good for you StarStarStar

TVHubbyClaire · 22/11/2017 12:18

KOKO i hope you stay and set yourself a couple of more achievable goals in the short term and then you can go for it after the holidays Smile

NSV this weekend, have bought the same brand of jeans for a few years now, started off with 33" waists, then bought a pair of or two of 34"s Sad. These are now definitely too big and on Sunday I bought a new smart pair for holiday season and actually bought a 32" waist slim fit.
Thankfully they have a bit of stretch in them but now I'm worried I'm going to add a few Lindas over the next 6 weeks and they won't fit...so an exciting NSV but a worry at the same timeHmm

QuimReaper · 22/11/2017 13:24

Welcome Nathalie to The Best Thread on Mumsnet™! 14 by the end of Jan does sound do-able, but you'll have to be pretty careful around Christmas, so you might be best off aiming for as much as possible before the festivities start, then just focusing on maintaining as best you can, then really go for it in Jan, just so you don't get demoralised. We'll all be in the same boat Grin

Well done Gower and TV, and congrats on the black belt Kiki!

koko definitely don't back away from the thread - as BOOP says you'll feel worse and it'll get harder and harder to get back into it. What is it that you tend to binge on mid-afternoon? Is it generally at home or at work? If it's at home I think you need to:

Purge everything from the house
Schedule - and I mean with telephone alarms - a healthy snack at the "danger hour" (i.e. a peppermint tea and a rice cake with peanut butter, or whatever)
If possible, schedule a distraction from snack time to dinner time.

If you can do that for a few days in a row I'm sure it'll get much easier.

I am so bloody hungry this week Confused I really can't work out why, but I'm really struggling to stick to my usual super-light daytime eating.

Congrats Kikis Smile.

Well done happy and tv!

Koko I make a 1.5 litre jug of lemon, cucumber and mint water every morning. Drink a pint for Breakfast and another pint when I finish work in the afternoon. It really helps to fill up if you feel the urge to snack. That might be an idea but don't give up.

The weather here this morning was depressing and some struggle to drag myself to the gym in the dark and flogging rain. Glad I did though. This weather just makes me want carbs.

NamasteNiki · 22/11/2017 18:18

Welcome newbies.

After the whole wisdom tooth, nerve pain saga, I feel terrible. I literally dont want to eat. But I felt faint at my desk this morning. So had to grab biscuits.

I wish I had never had it done.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/11/2017 18:31

That's a great NSV TV

When are you back at the dentist Niki?

KOKO STEP AWAY FROM THE SNACKS

Softpebbles · 22/11/2017 18:53

Hope you feel better soon Nicki. Do I read that as you are working now Nicki. I know you were down about not working for quite a while. Well done if so - that must be a relief.

TV great NSV. X

NamasteNiki · 22/11/2017 18:53

Im not BOOP

If I again develop pain in my jawbone and face that feels like feels as if someone is using an electric drill on it, it means the sealant has dropped out and I have to go back.

I cant go to the gym. I hate this. I feel so ill.

TheDonald · 22/11/2017 20:09

Koko your danger zone is exactly the same as mine always was. I managed to defeat it by cutting out all carbs and sugar at lunch.

Mind you I do sometimes have a handful of nuts when I get in from work.

Not sure why I think I should be dishing out diet advice though after what I've had today!

On Monday I think I only kept down about 300 cals after the d&v subsided and yesterday I had no appetite so only logged just under 1000 (including crisps and biscuits)

Last night I had a work emergency so only got 3 hrs sleep which on top of no food wasn't fun!

Today I decided that sugar was my friend! I've had about 3000 cals including greggs for lunch (including jam doughnut) and take away curry for tea!

And I've now missed a run and Pilates.

I'm getting back on the no sugar wagon tomorrow but sometimes needs must!

poorpaws · 22/11/2017 22:42

AT WW TONIGHT I LOST A GRAND TOTAL OF half a pound! But I think It’s my first loss in two months so I’ll take it.

KOKO I have done no better than you have but I still won’t give up and I want to encourage you not to either. We can sit together at the bottom of the class until we get our act together. Please don’t leave me on my own ☹️

NIKI I hope you feel better soon.

TV brilliant NSV.

KIKI you are awesome.

Too many victories here to name individually but you are doing brilliantly. KOKO and I will catch you up soon 😉

NamasteNiki · 22/11/2017 22:53

And Im im agony again.

Back to an emergency dentist.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/11/2017 23:28

You have to get this sorted Niki you poor thing. Have you got antibiotics?

OP posts:
NamasteNiki · 22/11/2017 23:48

No antibiotics.
Why why why did I have this done.
My teeth hurt all along both rows, my jaw bone hurts, my tongue hurts, my cheek bone hurts, my ear hurts and I have just taken 50mg of codeine and 400mg of ibuprofen and it hasn't touched it. I cannot cope.
It feels as if someone is using an electric drill on the whole lower left side of my face.

treaclesoda · 23/11/2017 00:00

Like some others here, I'm really struggling recently with hunger. I just feel hungry all the time. There is no logical reason for it, I'm almost certain that it's emotional, but that doesn't make it any easier at all.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/11/2017 07:06

Oh Niki there's nothing worse than toothache. I hope you can get something sorted today

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 23/11/2017 09:21

9.12 sts was golden x 10000 yesterday,
Skinny cappuccino first thing
2 tbsp hummus and a plate of raw veggies, cucumber, celery, cherry tomatoes and broccoli at lunch time
Two bowls of home made french onion soup for dinner

No pudding, no snacks, lots of water and herbal tea in the day....

Still better than a gain and I am on -5lbs for the month and no plans over the weekend other than a bit of xmas shopping with DP.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/11/2017 09:53

I lost another 1.2lbs after another Golden day. Treadmill class at gym, no booze, 1100 calories and lots of water. See it works when I stick to it. Who'd have thunk it eh?
