Hello, just catching up and checking in. Had a not so good day yesterday but managed to come in at 1500 rather than 1200.

For koko today has been / will be:

B: porridge with milk and a drizzle of maple syrup
L: Chicken salad sandwich, apple and Nakd nibbles
D: Lamb stew with masses of veg and veg on the side.
S: lots of tea and coffee (I've measured the milk!)

Hopefully I should come in somewhere around the 1200 mark. Still shredding and feeling so much better. Although I still haven't put the batteries in the scales yet.

BitOutOfPractice · 08/11/2017 12:32

Quim how do I calculate calories? I portion up recipes according to the portion sizes they advertise and I save leftovers for lunch next day.**

Most foods I eat are in MFP.**

I fid go over a bit yesterday as I had a bedtime kit Kat, some popcorn while I was cooking and a couple of alcohol free beers.** Came in at 1218

We are having fishcakes for dinner

1 spring onion
1 tin of white beans
1 tin of tuna
salt and pepper
wizzed in a food processor or mashed with a fork
form into fishcakes and fry in a tiny swipe of oil keep hot in the oven until ready to serve.

We are having them with cabbage squash mash and broccoli.

ponygirlcurtis · 08/11/2017 13:01

They sound lovely Hairspray. I am in the middle of making low-carb muffins to have with my bacon. Last night I had celeriac chips which are just the business! Might have them again tonight.

HairsprayBabe · 08/11/2017 13:15

And just had a quorn chicken salad for lunch at 228 cals. not sure on the cals for dinner I tend not to exactly count the cals for green veg as I know I would have to eat an absolute mountain of it to go over.

I am strict with dairy, protein and fats though.

Dinner should come in at 410.

You can swap the tuna for salmon, tinned crab or any cooked fish really, that vacuum packed smoked mackerel would work ok I bet.

I am 99% veggie but occasionally once every couple of months if that I might have tuna or white fish.

Quim - I work part time and have mon-wed 'off' .. still take the kids to school and pick them up but in 'free' from 9-3.
Son only started school in September so I might think about upping my hours but it's just the school holidays I'd have no one to have the kids and my youngest has autism so I don't like people that don't know him looking after him!

Iv tidied my daughters room today and painted her walls as they looked grubby haha.

Today's still a good day good wise. Really fancy something fizzy to drink for some strange reason!

Flyingprettycretonnecurtains · 08/11/2017 15:38

Had a good sliming day yesterday mainly down to stress as some van man went into the back of my son's car. Son was in bits so had to go and deal with it. Couldn't eat much supper as I was so stressed. Funnily enough a handy big, male burley neighbour came and van man became quite acquiescent.

Felt stressed and full of adrenaline today so not much food consumed. Hoping this means another pound may have fallen off (much like son's car's rear end - it may be a write-off).

TVHubbyClaire · 08/11/2017 19:02

Quim - you are right, steps would be a good thing to get back into and I would like to hopefully break back into running.......will maybe try to get out next week, got early starts at work for next two days

Tiegrr i was doing really well a month or two ago, was having dark chocolate with a coffee after dinner instead of usual desserts. Really enjoyed it too but as quim says its been very easy to fall back into bad habits. Hmm

KikisDeliveryService · 08/11/2017 20:38

Today's food & exercise:

Breakfast: half grapefruit, handful of grapes with full fat plain yogurt and handful almonds
Snacks and lunch: (eaten at 12.30 and 3!): apple, dried fruits and nuts (maybe 70g), then crayfish and avo sandwich from pret
Dinner: 5 meatballs with 1wholemeal pitta, baby spinach with oil & vinegar dressing, cucumber

Exercise: 2 x 15 minute vigorous cycling to and from work
lunchtime walk (30 mins)
1 hour lightish tkd training

The training was straight after work so I had a sandwich for a very late lunch then a small dinner at 7. I'm perfectly full and happy, although I have showered and gone to bed already! I had fallen into bad habit of nibbling after dinner and ditching that has really helped keep me on the straight and narrow.

Disclaimer: I am grading for a black belt in two weeks which is a powerful motivator! I'm sure it'll all fall apart after that. I think the nerves are burning off double the calories too Shock

KikisDeliveryService · 08/11/2017 20:47

Following on from conversations about steps - going out walking made a huge difference to me when I started out trying to get fitter and healthier after the infant years. Now I do loads of running and other stuff so it doesn't really make that much difference to look at my step count, unless it's several miles in one session with fast walking throughout.

Thanks quim and back! It's funny how once you're in the swing of it you wonder why you found it so difficult, and yet when you're not in the right frame of mind it all seems so damn impossible. I was so miserable about it 2 weeks ago. Our brains are funny things.

I always think that, when I'm being good I'm so focused. When I'm being bad I always think god why can't I be good again and why am i finding it so hard!

backinthatdress · 09/11/2017 07:31

Outside ofweekends i have been averaging less than 5,000 steps a day but during September I averaged 10,000 just with a bit more time commitment. Early mornings are beckoming ...Hmm

HairsprayBabe · 09/11/2017 10:41

Twinkle can you order a "naked" burger? e.g. without the bread and have a salad on the side?

Welcome Across! Do you have a plan in mind or are you just going with plain old eat less do more?
