Welcome to all the new folk. Sorry I can't keep up with everyone.

I've had a much better few days after Friday's blow out. Stuck to 1200 cals and no sugar. I did a sneaky weigh in today and I'd lost 1lb exactly since Saturday. I'm aiming for 4lb this month so I'm happy with that!

twinkledag · 06/11/2017 22:12

I’ve finished on 1,000 cals Grin

splatattack · 06/11/2017 22:14

Breakfast: Momma's porridge (gluten free, high protein) with shredded apple

Lunch: grilled chicken with spinach, rocket and broccoli with homemade chilli sauce (blended roast peppers, whole chilli and lime juice)

Dinner: 2 quorn sausages with mustard and a hard boiled egg...

Not sure how many cals, need to check MFP...I was 10st at last weigh in and hope to be approx 9 1/2 by the end of November? Reckon that is possible?

I also did weight training tonight and about 15,000 steps (busy work day!!)

This thread is keeping me going though so thank you!! GrinGrinGrin

TieGrr · 06/11/2017 22:30

Brief moment of madness with packets of Squishes (why are they so tasty!!!) but overall today has been a good day.

QuimReaper · 06/11/2017 22:51

Tie what are these notorious Squishies?!

splat how's the head?

20-oddK steps here and a semi-successful fast day Grin Well done all!

splatattack · 06/11/2017 22:54

Tie...squishies are amazing!!! I will be buying them by the bucketload when this wedding is over!!

And Quim head is a little black and blue but returning to normal thank goodness. Thank you for asking! Flowers

splatattack · 06/11/2017 22:56

Do lots of people average 10K steps a day? I am pushing myself so that I do but on a normal day if I wasn't putting in effort I am only ever at approx 5K...

NamasteNiki · 06/11/2017 23:03

I dont track steps. Ive never found that walking does anything at all for weight loss in my personal experience.

TieGrr · 06/11/2017 23:56

Quim They're sweets that taste just like Drumstick lollies but they're not sticky at all.

TheDonald · 07/11/2017 06:33

Splat I probably average 10k but it's all over the place. I run twice a week and on running days I usually hit 15-17k. On work days if I don't deliberately add more I only do 5k at best.

I think it can help weight loss but it depends on your lifestyle before. If you start walking when you already do gym / swim / weights then it probably won't make any difference but if you start doing 10k steps a day instead of sitting on the sofa eating cake then it will Smile

I mostly use mine to make sure I get up every hour at work. I can easily stay in my chair for 4 hours straight if I'm busy with a deadline and I just think that's so bad for circulation etc.

KOOP your problem is too many fads i think.

Vlcd, low carb, low fat, etc. You choose restrictive diets. Why not just plain old calories in, calories out.

Download myfitnesspal and get your calorie count. Dont exceed it but those calories will be anything you want to eat.

HappyGowerGirl · 07/11/2017 08:06

Oh this thread moves fast!

Weighed in at 60.1kg (9st6.5lbs) this morning, am happy with that.
Things are going quite well this week. I am INCREDIBLY sleep deprived so "quite well" is probably the best I can hope for!

Aside from the scales I'm having small NSVs most days: Being very nearly back at my pre-kids weight now makes me feel really good about myself.

Flyingprettycretonnecurtains · 07/11/2017 08:07

9st 13 this morning so a lb gone, although could easily jump back on. Did have quite a sparse day yesterday food wise but loads of water.

Keepon - why don't you do two weeks of no processed sugar, lots of water, things like soup. Have carbs but just halve everything you would normally put on your plate. Bit of walking for 30 mins and do things like take the stairs, etc. That way you are sticking to normality but doing it gradually. I can lose weight doing this and I am a not very active post menopausal woman who gets really squiffy and faint if I don't eat. If you need to snack then a couple of prunes or dates or nuts can stave it off. Or even a small chunk of cheese - anything except processed sugar.

You may be someone who would find the structure of Slimming World or Weight Watchers beneficial as you seem a bit lost and a bit unrealistic in what you are hoping to stick to. I cant do the five two. It doesn't work and I can't survive and function without some carbs.

HairsprayBabe · 07/11/2017 08:12

10.3 and had a perfect fast day yesterday boooo!

Same again today and hoping for a bit more movement. Currently on a 0 loss for the month and a week in....

NamasteNiki · 07/11/2017 08:13

@koop i also find that things like porridge in the morning leave you full and you dont want anything else.

Ditto soup in the evening. It's more filling.

ponygirlcurtis · 07/11/2017 08:23

That's great Happy - having that inner sense of feeling good about yourself is great. Smile

I think a lot of weight loss is to do with where your head is at keepon, and curbing emotional eating (well, it is for me).

MtbMagic · 07/11/2017 08:39

Inspired to join this thread!
I, too am struggling with the same flipping 3 pounds. Heaviest weight ever at 11.3😮😮.
I do a lot of exercise but think, at 49, the weight has crept on and stays put.
Feel quite stressed at the thought of restricting myself but will start slowly with3 moderate sized meals a day.

Hoping to loose 7 pounds by Christmas 👍👍

backinthatdress · 07/11/2017 09:09

Welcome to all the new people Smile good luck.

Quim- no chance with the men in my place Grin. I work in a massive office but my team which is about 14 people have decided to do our own together, we're going to las iguanas for a 3 course xmas themed meal and then out into town after which I prefer to the xmas dos that end at 12 in a hotel and everyone goes home. Only 3 men coming in our team, two are old enough to be my dad! actually my dad might be younger then one of them Grin

Hairspray- keep going, maybe your loss more next week. My weight lose always seems to go a big lose then small or nothing and then big again.

Keep on- I think a group might help you like slimming world or weight watchers also, there not unrealistic and lots of extra support.

Donald - well done for your 1lb off.

Splat - I have no ideal how many steps I do, I used to have a Fitbit but can't remember we're I put it, I'd say i do nearly 10k tho as I have 2 youngish children that I run around after lol

HairsprayBabe · 07/11/2017 09:14

back I think I am struggling as it is the very last 10 lbs for me atm so any set back takes forever to fix! I have lost over 5st now I just have the end so close in sight!

backinthatdress · 07/11/2017 09:18

Hairspray - it's defo harder the last few pounds you need to lose! 5st though, well done!!

twinkledag · 07/11/2017 10:08

KOKO - I know how you feel, we’ve all been there! You have to be in the right mindset as well.

How about taking it one meal at a time? What was breakfast?

Come on, we’ll help you 😊

treaclesoda · 07/11/2017 10:54

I lost this thread, I was looking at the October one wondering why everyone had stopped chatting Grin

I have lost another lb. It's only one, but it's a lb. At least I'm going in the right direction. It's only been two weeks so if I could do a pound a week on an ongoing basis then all would work out ok. I hope!

backinthatdress · 07/11/2017 10:55

I feel like I haven't stopped eating today.

Pineapple & a banana.
A milky way crispy at 3 points.
And a single Twirl for 3 points
And squishes for 4 points
1 cup of tea at 1 point.

11 points down and it's only 11pm.

15points left

KikisDeliveryService · 07/11/2017 11:26

KOKO I reckon you might need to keep it simple and just try eating more moderately without ditching any particular food group. Something like MFP could be right for you - no restriction on what you eat but aim for a sensible total each day, say 1200 to 1400. I like the idea of BOOP’s method where she inputs everything into Mfp in advance then sticks to it. Once it’s obvious how much of your daily allowance that lovely couple of slices of buttered toast is you might plan to have that on a day where your other meals are veggie soup.

Being in the right headspace is key though, I’ve currently found my mojo but I know that if I even feel slightly unwell I just cannot stick to it. Maybe don’t promise yourself to do that which is impossible and just start small. Make one positive change today, maybe choose a more nutritious lunch than you might otherwise, and build up from that. Don’t focus on the negatives, the fails but look at something you have done to help yourself, be it choosing to walk further or that you grabbed and apple for a snack rather than chocolate. Build up to a positive mindset.

I am literally preaching to myself here KOKO so feel free to ignore!
