Hi everyone, here we are with out 4th thread.
I really can't believe just how well everyone is doing.

Joash 12lb loss in 6 days. That's fantastic. I'm like you, i also have a cheese weakness!!!

hercules1 8lb loss in 6 days. Brilliant.
You don't have to wait until you reach goal before you eat food again.
There are lots of food plans to choose from.
Have you tried FIBRE 89? helps you if you do get constipated.

catsmother I cannot believe that you've lost another 5.5lbs this week.
You are an inspiration to all of us.

gtimama 1st 1lb in 2 weeks is a great loss.

michaelad How are you getting on with day 4?
You can have the berry powder in the first week.
Theres also an orange powder as well. I didn't like this as much!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy How fantastic must you feel losing 22lb in a week?
That has to be the most i've ever heard of.
Well done you.

Sorry that i've not mentioned everyone, but i'd be here all day if i did that.

I've been doing this diet for 13 weeks now and have lost 38lbs and 1/4 oz.
My next weigh in is on wed as my CDC has been away on hol.

Have tried to be good, but also caved in a few times with the kids easter eggs!!!!

Hi Michaelad - you sound the same as me - eating when you get stressed, worried, happy etc. I'm still worried too that once I stop diet, I'll put the weight back on but at least we've all been successful so far and for me, this is the only thing that has worked longer term.
Yes - Dh was only back for 12 days but at least he's only going back to go to a few meetings and hand over his job to the next man so will home the last week of May bopefully.
ps - don't scale hop! - just do your once weekly weigh in otherwise you won't know which scales to believe and start thinking her's are wrong etc.

honey28 · 08/05/2007 19:47

I'm finding it so hard to stick to the cambridge diet - I find the shakes and especially soups rotten - can anyone help me with flavours (although I appreciate that we all have different tastes) AS mentioned before I got some soups and shakes from ebay to try it out but I really can't get into it - I want to especially when I hear how well you are all doing!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 08/05/2007 20:24

I find the choc muffins the best I have one for lunch and the mushroom soup with pepper and tabasco sauce! then after a few week you can get the bars which I love !

It really is best to see a cdc as they are cheaper than ebay and can get you all the flavours also they will change the ones you dont like good luck x

Right well I havent dont half as bad as I thought I have lost yes lost 3.5lbs this week so I am really happy

luciemule · 08/05/2007 20:28

I know I'm like a broken record but have you had mint/choc chip? I made my parents try it and they both said it tasted like a mint Feast ice lolly thing. They said it was nice and they would drink it even if not doing the diet.
I am the worst person for taking medicine - they used to hold me down and pinch my nose just to make me have it (eg - gross worm medicine and antibiotics!) but even I can take the shakes. Saying that however, that's the only one I have, although I only tried chocolate, banana and summer fruits.
I pour the shake into my glass, hold my breath, focus on something like a magazine cover and down it in a one-er! Then have a glass of ater straight after and it takes the milky/glupe feeling away. Do it as one shake at a time and then it's done, rather than thinking "oh my god - that was only the breakfast one, I've got 2 more later!"

luciemule · 08/05/2007 20:29

Well done TLSM - that's a good loss - hope your LO is ok now?

ShrinkingViolet · 08/05/2007 22:22

vanilla with a spoonful of coffee is nice, much nicer than the cappuccino.

honey28 · 09/05/2007 09:05

Lucie - I took your tip and downed my shake this morning - its the smell and aftertaste that get me so also followed your tip of having the pint of water ready and waiting!

Only thing is I had to have it at 7am but won't be home until after 1 to get another so It will be a long morning. Am at work so will try and keep busy!

joash · 09/05/2007 09:16

Finally managed to get started again - had 2full days of SS and lost another 8lb - so 4lb less than I was when the crappy month started - Ithats 35lb altogether but stil a long , long way (or should that be weigh) to go

luciemule · 09/05/2007 09:23

wow- well done Joash - great loss of 8lbs. You must be chuffed.
Honey - glad it was a bit of help. I find hot drinks really comfort me and take away food cravings so at work, you could drink red bush tea or something. I also allow myself a tad of milk in normal tea, counsellor said should be fine. As soon as I feel perckish, I go and make a cup of red bush. It does work.

luciemule · 09/05/2007 09:30

Michaelad - how are you feeling about it all today - is it weigh in for you today?
Mine is at lunch time and I've been dreading it all week. I kind of thought on Monday night, I'd better stop picking now, thinking I'd be able to lose all the pounds I must have put on since last wednesday!!!

michaelad · 09/05/2007 12:25

lucie I reckon by tomorrow I will have lost most of the weight I've put on again..Thank God for there not being a weigh in today! I'll probably see my CD counsellor on Friday before I go to Germany for a week. So if theree is any loss at all it will probably only be a pound or so. I can already hear her telling me off about it. Just gotta find a way to deal with eat better when the next AAM week looms.
Let me know how you did!

joash · 09/05/2007 12:28

WHat's Red Bush tea?

luciemule · 09/05/2007 14:01

joash - red bush tes (rooibosh) comes from South Africa and you can it mostly anywhere now. You get different flavours and it's naturally caffeine free and very yummy. I used to have it with milk but now just drink it on its own. You have to let it stew for a lot longer than normal tea(6 mins). In Germany I used to buy Caramel red bush which was even yummier and you can get here from Lidl but only Lord Nelson make which isn't quite as good. But it's a great hot drink for this diet (not the flavoured ones if you're soul source) and avoids dehydrating you from caffeine (sp) - I can never spell caffeine (I get confused with German/english or french?!)
Michaelad - you sound like you're back on track. I went to weigh in today and lost 1/2 pound (that be account for the hot x bun I ate last night). However, have just emptied bread bin and the birds (including sea gulls are having a feast!).
I'm jealous you're off to Germany - all those lovely Pflaumen streusel kuchen! You can see it's gonna be hard changing my attitutde to eating!
Have you seen my 'going back to work' thread? It's about starting a business selling traditional wooden german toys and cakes! Not good for the figure though! Hee hee hee........

michaelad · 09/05/2007 16:07

lucie just had a look at the going back to work thread and couldn't find yours..link, please
Wooden toys and cakes..sounds great, can I join in?

michaelad · 09/05/2007 16:09

If there's anything you'd like me to get for you from Germany (small and postable), let me know!

SpookyMadMummy · 09/05/2007 19:37

Hello all...
I have just emailed a counsellor from the website so I may be joining you
I am a carboholic though! so lets see if it works for me!
I have been reading and following your threads... thank you for inspiring me Ladies!

luciemule · 09/05/2007 20:16

*Michaelad' - I sooooo can't do links! But it's going back to work thread - 'owning a shop or am I just dreaming?'
In ref to bringing me something back from Deutschland? Well - only all of the cakes and stollen in the world!!! Only joking. Don't tempt me! It takes me all my will (what tiny bit of it there is left) to not go to Lidl every week and stock up on goodies!
Have a lovely time back in Germany- I really miss the salads and stroganof and the wonderful shopping!
I think we're off to Herford next year on our hols (whilst visitng friends) so hopefully will be able to indulge a bit then and if DH ever got posted there again, I'd jump at it in a shot! In fact I'd even have considered living there full stop had we not bought a house last year to settle down in.

stoppinattwo · 09/05/2007 20:35

whats good for spooks is good for me ............mind if i shimmy in here?? gonna phone a counsellor tomorrow

misdee · 09/05/2007 20:39

wee i had my weigh in today and the scales didnt move from last week. am very bloated and retsianing water tho as its TOTM for me. also drank 2 pints before weigh in d'oh!

am hopi9ng to get under 15stone next week so i can get myself a little treat

when i get under 14 stone I am getting my lip re-pierced.

luciemule · 09/05/2007 22:04

don't worry misdee - it'll be the af. I did the same thing before my first weigh in and drank loads of water without realising just how much more heavy it makes you! It's good that you're planning treats for yourself after each stone.

misdee · 09/05/2007 22:13

it helps keep me focused. dh just ordered a pizza and i have resisted it, the garlic cheesesticks and the b&j phish food as well.

just got one more pack to have now

oh also got water flavour this week as am struggling with drinking the required water at times.

luciemule · 09/05/2007 22:23

well done you for not having the pizza. I just caved again and ate two apple biscuit things which weren't actually that nice! I so can't my head around this diet anymore but don't want to give up as I know I'll just put it back on again.

michaelad · 10/05/2007 09:59

lucie had a look at your thread. Sounds like a good idea. Pity you live so far away from me..otherwise we could be a good team..with me and my "background"
Oh, btw..speaking of cakes, there's a company called "Frozen foods" (I think) who stock several varieties of "Coppenrath & Wiese" cakes..if that means anything to you. Yum

hercules1 · 10/05/2007 11:34

I drink my water out of a sports bottle type thing you get with mineral water. I cannot seem to stomach it anymore from a glass. I use the 1litre ones to easy to track how muchI am drinking too.

luciemule · 10/05/2007 14:16

thanks michaelad - will look if there's a website - I imagine there is. I really think there is great scope for the German cake and toy thing in the UK.
