Lose a stone for Christmas - 14lb in 14 weeks

I have struggled in the past to find the motivation to lose weight. I found it quite unexpectedly last November thanks to a 'lose a stone by Christmas' thread. However, I'm a slow loser and 8 weeks wasn't long enough for me to lose a stone. I managed it by the end of January, but then had a family bereavement and I've struggled to get back on track since. But I would really like to lose some more weight.

What helped me last year was the accountability of being on a thread. I controlled my calories using My Fitness Pal, but it was so helpful having other people to talk to who were having the same struggles.

So, if anyone would like to join me, I'd be grateful for some company. 14 pounds in 14 weeks takes us to 7 days before Christmas.

I weighed in this morning and I was 10 8.8. I will stick with a Sunday morning weigh-in as I take DS swimming so can use the scales there.

I plan to use MFP, cut out snacks and make good decisions on my meals to stay within my calorie allowance.

8st 9.4lbs
This lurgy obviously has some upsides.

IheartCaptainHolt · 21/03/2018 12:50

Woohoo! Weigh in for me tonight so fingers crossed!

JugglingMummyof2 · 23/03/2018 11:32

How are you doing IheartCaptainHolt?

IheartCaptainHolt · 23/03/2018 16:15

Sorry I forgot to update!

2.5lb off (I was in the lightest clothing I could get away with).

Very pleased with that. I'm keeping the nibbling under control so hopefully next week will be good too.

How are you doing?

JugglingMummyof2 · 23/03/2018 19:05

That is fabulous. What do you even weigh these days (if you don't mind saying) - I am so impressed.
I am on the mend - first day 'up and out' but went for a lie down when I got home for an hour. Aching legs after a 10 minute walk!
Onwards, Inwards and survive.

IheartCaptainHolt · 23/03/2018 19:39

I was 13st 1 this morning. I was just over 18stone when I came home from hospital after having DS2. I'm 5"9 so can at least get away with more weight! I think I've set my final target now at 11st 12 which will be 5 stone lost on SW.

Glad you got out and about today even if it wasn't for long. I've not been running for a couple of weeks, cold just kept dragging on and I lost my headphones and I can't run with out a podcast! Think I'll go out this weekend though as I'm feeling recovered now.

Been back at work this week Mon to Wed and it was bliss! Felt like a much better mum on Thursday and Friday because of the break.

Way to go ladies. 🌷🤸🏻‍♀️

IheartCaptainHolt · 25/03/2018 08:33

Thanks @Harvestmoonsobig feel free to join us!

Finally saw a 12 on the scales!!!! 12st 13.5 woohoo!

JugglingMummyof2 · 25/03/2018 12:24

Iheart - you are amazing. You must have wanted to jump around the bathroom with joy. Please do join us Harvest - the more the merrier to keep us going and shrinking.

IheartCaptainHolt · 25/03/2018 18:07

Thank you juggling, I did a happy dance!

JugglingMummyof2 · 28/03/2018 09:56

8st 10lbs - probably a correction after the week of lurginess...
Keep doing that happy dance Iheart. If I get to 8st 6.9999999999999999 I'll do one too.

IheartCaptainHolt · 28/03/2018 12:57

Lurgies do tend to upset things which is a nuisance. You are sooo close to 8 6.9 though!

Official SlimmingWorld WI tonight but it's been creeping down to 12 12/11.5 so I'm feeling positive.

IheartCaptainHolt · 28/03/2018 12:59

Only hiccup I see is that DS1 only likes white chocolate and DS2 is still too young to eat much chocolate so I sense many easter eggs on my future.

I think I might indulge a little and go for a STS week. I need to live a little sometimes....

JugglingMummyof2 · 28/03/2018 14:03

Yes you do Iheart - live a little and enjoy your boys and Easter (I sense roast lamb with all the trimings in my future...) and we will get back on programme in a week or so.

IheartCaptainHolt · 01/04/2018 11:23

Hope you are enjoying easter. I've indulged a lot over the past two days (had easter early) so back on it today and it's not enjoyable!

JugglingMummyof2 · 02/04/2018 10:01

I am enjoying it too much. DD's made choc chip banana bread yesterday and it was divine - we have all my favourite foods and drinks here and I feel it will take a month to get back to where I was. GCSEs starting in six weeks so not really getting out and about either. Well done for getting back in the saddle so quickly.

IheartCaptainHolt · 04/04/2018 21:55

Choc chip banana bread sounds delicious!

Getting back on the wagon was easier said than done. 1/2 lb on tonight but I've enjoyed all the chocolate so hey ho!

Onwards and downwards

JugglingMummyof2 · 05/04/2018 11:13

Ha ha - for the first time I haven't dared to weight myself. Sun is shining here today so at least we will be able to escape for a few hours. Next Wednesday I will weigh in regardless. I would be delighted with 0.5lb - suspect I might have put on 5lbs...

JugglingMummyof2 · 11/04/2018 12:08

Oh dear 9st 1.2lbs - hangs head in shame....

IheartCaptainHolt · 11/04/2018 12:19

It's not good. But you have been comfortably under 9st not long ago abs you can get there again. A couple of lb's are bound to be post easter bloat. WI for me tonight so fingers crossed for a 2lb loss and another sticker on my book!

IheartCaptainHolt · 11/04/2018 21:23

3lb off for me! Very pleased with myself

JugglingMummyof2 · 12/04/2018 00:06

Gosh you are amazing and yes you are right I will get there again.
Onwards and inwards we go!!

JugglingMummyof2 · 18/04/2018 08:08

8st 11.8
Getting back to normal with a very healthy eating and activity heavy Monday and Tuesday.
You really are a super star.

IheartCaptainHolt · 18/04/2018 21:35

12st 11 so stayed the same this week. Happy with that though as I ate a shed load of pork crackling and two desserts with Sunday lunch this week!

IheartCaptainHolt · 18/04/2018 21:36

I'm glad to see we are both doing well. The continued downward trend is good
