Lose a stone for Christmas - 14lb in 14 weeks

I have struggled in the past to find the motivation to lose weight. I found it quite unexpectedly last November thanks to a 'lose a stone by Christmas' thread. However, I'm a slow loser and 8 weeks wasn't long enough for me to lose a stone. I managed it by the end of January, but then had a family bereavement and I've struggled to get back on track since. But I would really like to lose some more weight.

What helped me last year was the accountability of being on a thread. I controlled my calories using My Fitness Pal, but it was so helpful having other people to talk to who were having the same struggles.

So, if anyone would like to join me, I'd be grateful for some company. 14 pounds in 14 weeks takes us to 7 days before Christmas.

I weighed in this morning and I was 10 8.8. I will stick with a Sunday morning weigh-in as I take DS swimming so can use the scales there.

I plan to use MFP, cut out snacks and make good decisions on my meals to stay within my calorie allowance.

Well done iheart 3 stone is a huge achievement.
I'm still 10st 2 not the best day yesterday but not enough food to be worried about gaining I don't think so at least that is something. Hoping I can get back on track now and get into the 9s by the first week of December

OhGood · 29/11/2017 11:06

Thank you jugglingmummy! I am going to try it out. (We call this sort of meal 'stoup' in our house - half stew, half soup.)

iheart you are a serious inspiration. Well done. Please keep coming and telling us about it. God 3 stone must feel SO GREAT. I would be at pre-baby weight. eyes up very old pair of jeans which would only go on one leg now

JugglingMummyof2 · 29/11/2017 19:37

1.6lbs for me - yippee!!

Enjoy your stoup OhGood

IheartCaptainHolt · 29/11/2017 20:30

Well done @JugglingMummyof2

@OhGood it does feel great! I am pre DS2 weight now and another stone will take me to ore DS2 weight. Going to buy a new party dress this weekend for the festive season which I am cautiously looking forward to which is a nice change!

twobambinos · 05/12/2017 10:55

Did you get your dress iheart?
10st 1 today so 7lbs lost not quite the stone but better than gaining. My clothes are definitely starting to fit me better too.
Hoping I can get back in the 9s for next weekend.

IheartCaptainHolt · 05/12/2017 11:43

Good work @twobambinos!

Yes I got a dress, Black with silver glitter/sparkles and it was in the sale do even better! Another 1lb off for me today and loads of people in group were saying how good I look which felt great.

Let's keep going for the final push up to Christmas!

Well done everyone.
9st 2 this morning which is a whole 0.2lb for me but I had a good loss last week so I will live with it. Really would like to get to 8stone something by Christmas eve - fingers crossed or perhaps 🤬 would work better.

OhGood · 08/12/2017 10:20

Hi all - I am v sorry but I am resigning! It's not working out for me this time. I am just getting miserable and food-obsessed and not shifting anything. Will pick up again in the new year.

But I am going to check back in so I can be inspired by your stories! Good luck and keep it up.

JugglingMummyof2 · 08/12/2017 16:30

Good luck OhGood and enjoy your Christmas - some times it is a total uphill battle and you are better off baling out, regrouping and starting again at another time. Do keep checking in on us and see you at the start of January - Happy Christmas x

twobambinos · 12/12/2017 16:24

Weighed this morning and I'm 10st even. I'm delighted another pound down. So won't make the 14lbs by the time but if I could get back into the 9s by the start of the school holidays I would be delighted

Oh good sorry you are resigning. I've drifted off many many threads this year too this is actually the first time this year I've been in the zone. And I'm still bigger now than I was at the start of the year by about half a stone. Hopefully 2018 will be better

JugglingMummyof2 · 12/12/2017 16:44

Well done twobambinos - I'm the same in that I won't get to 14lbs but if I can get into the 8's I'll be happy. Weigh in tomorrow so fingers crossed.

IheartCaptainHolt · 12/12/2017 17:14

I put 2lb on this week but I weighed in a day early and had a huge Christmas lunch at MIL's on Sunday so think most of it was still being full up from that!

JugglingMummyof2 · 13/12/2017 18:41

Weigh again Iheart - I weighed one Thursday after a disappointing Wednesday result.
9st 1.2lbs for me - so that is 1lb in two weeks - I should have sweated that off with the stress of GCSE mocks alone. I will get there - a focused week is coming up. 8st 13.99999999999 or bust .

IheartCaptainHolt · 19/12/2017 17:39

1.5lb off this week so basically maintained over the two weeks I've had xmas do's so pleased with that. Got nothing else in the diary until xmas day so will be good till then.

JugglingMummyof2 · 20/12/2017 09:32

Well done Iheart - I think we might be the only two left at this stage...
So a mini hurrah to say I made it 8st 13.8lbs - just need to keep focused another four days and then the festivities can begin - I have a dress that I really want to wear on Christmas day and the thinner I am, the better it looks.

IheartCaptainHolt · 20/12/2017 09:48

Well done @JugglingMummyof2! That is great news, it's sooooo satisfying to get into the next stone down bracket.

JugglingMummyof2 · 20/12/2017 09:52

Thanks @IheartCaptainHolt.
Where is everybody?

IheartCaptainHolt · 21/12/2017 20:12

Only the hardcore made it to the end! I was 15st 7.5 at the start of this thread and I am 13st 12 today. Don't think I'll lose anymore before Xmas day but very pleased with 1st 9.5lb lost!

JugglingMummyof2 · 22/12/2017 09:12

That is super - you must feel an enormous sense of achievement.
You have also given me my 2018 aim - to get a hard core. It is thinner but still a bit more squidgy than it was a decade ago.
Happy Christmas Glitterball Xmas Smile Wine

JugglingMummyof2 · 03/01/2018 11:23

3rd January and a Wednesday so back on the trail again.
9st 1.2 so could be worse. A focused week ahead and an aim to get back to 8st 13.8 again by this time next week and then go from there.

@OhGood - come on back to keep me company?

SageYourResoluteOracle · 03/01/2018 13:00

Wow! Everyone is doing really well. Had really sensible day yesterday and will do again today. Weigh-in day will be Friday for me. Keep on trucking, people

Hey, I know exactly how you feel! I tried loosing some weight this time last year but with me I just never had any motivation at all! After a month I gave up when I noticed I put on 7 pounds and not lost it!! But this year has been good to me so far, I started on Boxing Day and got right too it! I’ve had help from this amazing easy 2 week program but I still feel really happy with myself smile the main thing is to not quit and keep going, that way we will see results! I’ll be happy to share the program if any of you are infested, even my mum had a go on it and now she’s addicted to cutting down the pounds toogrin it’s nice to hear people are on the same boat, -Shelby
