Lose a stone for Christmas - 14lb in 14 weeks

FireflyGirl · 10/09/2017 19:56

I have struggled in the past to find the motivation to lose weight. I found it quite unexpectedly last November thanks to a 'lose a stone by Christmas' thread. However, I'm a slow loser and 8 weeks wasn't long enough for me to lose a stone. I managed it by the end of January, but then had a family bereavement and I've struggled to get back on track since. But I would really like to lose some more weight.

What helped me last year was the accountability of being on a thread. I controlled my calories using My Fitness Pal, but it was so helpful having other people to talk to who were having the same struggles.

So, if anyone would like to join me, I'd be grateful for some company. 14 pounds in 14 weeks takes us to 7 days before Christmas.

I weighed in this morning and I was 10 8.8. I will stick with a Sunday morning weigh-in as I take DS swimming so can use the scales there.

I plan to use MFP, cut out snacks and make good decisions on my meals to stay within my calorie allowance.

I'm home from holiday and back on it. Weighing in on Monday. Keep going everyone x

OhGood · 27/10/2017 20:16

Checking in to avoid the temptation for a Friday night G&T (or 2...)

OhGood · 27/10/2017 20:21

...which will lead to me eating all sorts of ridiculous stuff!

OhGood · 30/10/2017 10:30

Morning all. Monday weigh in:
Week 1: 90kg
Week 2: 98.9
...so that's something.

Annoyingly I have sprained my ankle!!! Out of action in terms of exercise for a bit (though will try swimming today.)

18 weeks til Christmas. That could be 18 pounds lost!

HarrietBasset · 31/10/2017 07:21

Weighed in after my holiday and 2lbs on Blush
Not surprised but a bit disappointed. Feel like I need to work extra hard now to get back to where I was x

IheartCaptainHolt · 31/10/2017 11:53

Good to see we are still keeping going! Another 3lb this week so that’s 13.5lb! Over the moon with this!

OhGood · 31/10/2017 14:58

IheartCaptainHolt that's amazing. How are you doing it?

IheartCaptainHolt · 31/10/2017 15:39

Thank you @OhGood

I’m doing SlimmingWorld and I go running three or four times a week. I’ve lost 31lb since mid June doing it.

It’s been hard sometimes as I eat no junk/rubbish at all anymore but totally worth it.

twobambinos · 01/11/2017 08:39

Harriet I'm sure the holiday was well worth it and that two pounds will be gone in no time at all.

Finally I'm down to 10st4 this is the slowest it's ever been for me. Have really up the exercise in the last week too so hoping to see a bit of a loss next week again. Can't wait to see 9 something on the scales again and fit back into some of the lovely clothes that are haunting me from the wardrobe.

I heart 31lbs is amazing well done and keep up the good work.

JugglingMummyof2 · 01/11/2017 11:00

First OhGood - that cannot be correct - you cannot have put on 8.9kg in a week at your weight especially if you were watching what you were eating. Weigh again.

So to me - a whole 0.2lb in two weeks. Really not great but it was half term and we were away so on wards and inwards. I am going to get to 130 next week or bust.

Start: 9st 11
Week 1: 9st 9.8
Week 2: 9st 8.4
Week 3: 9st 8
Week 4+1day: 9st 7.6
Week 5: 9st 6
Week 6: 9st 6
Week 7: 9st 5.8

Whoop pee doooo.

twinkledag · 01/11/2017 13:31

I think OhGood meant 88.9!

Firefries · 01/11/2017 14:35

Weighing in at week 8 now. I went up from 165.3 to 166. Not surprised at all. I have not been sticking to 1200 calories (and over indulged with Halloween) nor done much exercise but I'm now doing the 30 day shred, as it's just too cold to go outside and run now. So we will see how next week goes. I'm all in.

Yep Ohgood I think your numbers came out wrong. Good work to those who lost and hey I'm with you if you haven't this week. I find this thread the best way to stay accountable. Thank you all.

HarrietBasset · 02/11/2017 20:03

Good luck with the shred Firefries. I am contemplating doing it again but am still running 3 x a week at the moment. Week 7 of c25k. I should probably do the shred on the run rest days.
I've lost the 2lbs I put on when I was on holiday. Weighed in this morning. I've been very strict low carbs and 1200 calories plus not eating back any exercise calories.
I couldn't maintain this as I feel too deprived but do feel better that I'm back to where I was before my blow out holiday.
Hope everyone else is ok. It's so nice to have the support x

OhGood · 03/11/2017 09:36

Yes twinkle I did - though feel I should have let the original mistake stand as things have gone pretty badly this week. I find not being able to get out and exercise just knocks me. And my ankle still dodgy. So that's my advance excuse for what will be a shoddy weigh-in on Monday.

OhGood · 06/11/2017 10:02

How is everyone? Is this thread on its way out :( I need you guys!

Weigh-in today, no change but no surprise either. I;ve been a bit silly and tried to do a dance class on my sprained ankle and made it worse again, so am going to strictly stay off it this week.

IheartCaptainHolt · 06/11/2017 11:17

I’m still here! Weigh in tomorrow morning, 1/2lb and I’ll have lost a stone since the thread started so I’ve got my fingers crossed! Was 14st 9lb last Tuesday, I’d like to be 14st for xmas.

JugglingMummyof2 · 08/11/2017 13:16

Thread definitely not on its way out(I hope) as I need it too.

Start: 9st 11
Week 1: 9st 9.8
Week 2: 9st 8.4
Week 3: 9st 8
Week 4+1day: 9st 7.6
Week 5: 9st 6
Week 6: 9st 6
Week 7: 9st 5.8
Week 8: 9st 4.2

I am pleased with that though it is not quite 7lbs for me but better than nothing. Good luck Iheart at making your stone.
Delighted you didn't put on 9KGs Ohgood - hope the ankle will be better soon.

Acrosstheuniverse123 · 08/11/2017 13:19

Great! I will join you. I started this week using MFP and I weight 12.6 at the moment. i am 5 foot 3 so this is horrific. I would love to lose a stone by Xmas, just so much more to lose after that... I need to be 9.7 at the heaviest. I have done it before, but i was a stone lighter when i started that time.

HarrietBasset · 08/11/2017 14:57

I'm still here too. Weighing in on Thursday. Hang in there everyone xx

Tinkhasflown · 08/11/2017 20:44

I'm still here just haven't been posting. I've 1 on 1 off for the last 4 weeks and can't seem to get past the 7lbs I have lost! The mid term hasn't helped and some vad habits have crept back but I'm back to my walking etc this week now they are back. So hoping that the lbs will start to shift again this week.

dinosaursandtea · 12/11/2017 10:15

Hi everyone! Just found this thread - I’m probably not going to lose a stone by Christmas since I’ve left it so late, but I do want to make a concerted effort to lose a decent amount. Hope you don’t mind me joining you!

HarrietBasset · 12/11/2017 22:43

Stayed the same this week. Boo!

OhGood · 13/11/2017 11:28

89.8

Very slow going, but heading downwards. I feel like I deserve more off that that and wonder if I am Blush underestimating calories on MFP or something.

Have been doing 'seated workouts' on YouTube as a way around my ankle. Hilarious, all the ads are for these incredibly fit and sprightly elderly ladies. Hope I am like that one day...

Good luck all for weigh-ins this week.

Firefries · 14/11/2017 04:32

Hi all, well I suppose I took a good holiday. I ate approximately more like 1400 not 1200 and didn't do any exercise because of snow and sickness AND all my hard wok slipped away. Ive gone from 166 to 167.1. I am struggling! These have been the hardest months of my life but I'm not giving up!! Keep going everyone.

Firefries · 14/11/2017 04:34

I just realized I'm back to where I started 😩
