I've weighed, I'm 14 stone 2lbs. I've lost over a stone since starting in May so quite happy that it is working, although it's slow it is easy enough and I don't feel deprived. I've starved myself in the past felt rubbish and then piled it back on later. I am currently a comfy size 14 and am not buying anymore clothes until in a 12. Hopefully this will motivate me as I'm back in work Monday after the summer off and have nothing to wear. I'm hoping by the time the weather turns cold I will be able to buy clothes again! I need to lose about 10/12 lbs to be in a size 12 again.

I have been such a fat greedy pig today

I had a good breakfast & lunch

Then ate:
A whole pack of sweet chilli crackers 400 calories
A whole pack of chocolate chip cookies
Chips mushy peas and a fish cake

Honestly I don't know how I'm gonna go back to eating healthy and normal

coffeeandrainbows · 02/09/2017 23:23

Oh Mozz try and be kind to yourself and remember that it's a process-learning to eat in a different, better way and you won't always make the best choices but you always have the chance to reset and restart with your next meal (or day if that's easier).

Have some water and try again tomorrow! You still have plenty of time to make sept a great month!

I also find snacking in the afternoon is the hardest time. I think I'm so used to having certain carby snacks that I don't really know what other options would be better and I'm too hungry by that point to take the time to look around or make something up. Definitely need to try and prep some better snacks before that desire to snack hits so I don't even have to think about it. Anyone have some good suggestions for snacks?

Mozz and coffee I am an afternoon snacker too and it so easily spirals out of control... 2 biscuits with my tea somehow become 5 or more Sad For me the answer is to move away from the food (ideally upstairs or out of the house!) and do something physical like put away laundry or filing paperwork... but it's hard to make myself do it!

Can I ask others on mfp who have a few stone to lose how many calories you are eating? I am 14.6 and 5 foot 3 and have some injuries that mean I can't exercise much. I think I am maybe being too kind to myself, because I know if I am too strict I will fall off the wagon more easily Blush So just trying to find the right balance to lose something, don't mind how slowly. I've lost a stone and a bit already but have been maintaining for the last few months and really need to get back to losing!

Hey! Can I join? Had a baby a year ago. I'm still a stone heavier than I used to be, and after a summer of indulging (savoury food and wine are my downfall!) I'd like to start living healthier.

My stats are:
5"8 & 10 stone exactly. My ideal weight is 9 stone exactly though I'd settle for 9.5 right now!

I'm not going to "diet", I just want to cut out the crap and be less greedy. Also have AT LEAST 3 alcohol free nights a week. I'll still treat myself from time to time, just maybe not every day, several times a day😀

Looking forward to having a bit of company!

I have been very snacky-picky lately too. When I am doing well I rarely snack but I am really stressed, tired and busy right now which is bringing the emotional eating back into play. In good times, I find a big glass of water or a cup of tea fills me up and distracts from feeling hungry. Or I have something small - a few slices of ham or a cheese string. It fools my brain into thinking I have given it something so it stops nagging at me for food.

Happy I have recently discovered Becks Blue bottles of alcohol-free lager which I have during the week.

Hi all can I join too please? I've lurked on these threads before for inspiration! I've put on weight due to stress/comfort eating in recent months but want to get it back under control now, I'm back at the gym and just starting healthy eating again now. I'm 5ft 9in and currently 12st 8lb, would like to get back to around the 12 mark initially as that's where I was, and ideally get down to the mid 11s eventually.
Love the Slender is Task! motto!!
Good luck everyone!

At that height a weight of 9 stone would give you a bmi of 19 which is barely above an underweight bmi of 18.

I think you'll find the 9st is the bare minimum healthy weight at that height.

At 5'4 Im aiming for 9.5.

Haven't quite got my mojo back yet, but still not in routine for me. I did make a healthy casserole, full of lots of different veg for dinner yesterday. And have a serving left for today (love leftovers meaning I don't need to cook).

Tomorrow is going to be a good day...

No breakfast
Salad, apple, 99cal cereal bar lunch
Chicken wrapped in bacon and roasted, served with salad for dinner.

Trip to the vets to keep my busy. And the kids will be back the day later so I might be distracted getting stuff sorted for work.

Hey Niki, Well when the scales can't decide you go with the lower weigh in of course😀 Ps 9 stone is a very healthy weight for me, I've weighed that pretty much all of my adult life (before and after children). I'm very active and (used to) do a lot of running and hiking. I do look slim at that weight but definitely not skinny! Just a healthy size 10. I think what your "optimal" BMI is probably depends on your body type as well?

Report
NikiBabe · 03/09/2017 12:25

Ill totally drink to that GowerGirl!

Yeah you're right, I just wondered if I should be aiming lower if 9st is optimum for someone 4 inches taller than me!

I do pack alot of fat on the hips, bum etc. Maybe a bit lower would be better 😁

Report
HappyGowerGirl · 03/09/2017 12:29

Hey Niki my main reason for aiming lower is so I can run faster! I actually think I look nicer (fuller, curvier, bigger boobs) at 9.5 stone (or even 10 stone). But the extra weight is not my friend when I go for a run... plus I can't fit into loads of my old clothes at the moment which is a pain in the ass... (and can't afford to buy a new wardrobe)
