September is here and the Slenderistas (and TV) have their game face on.

Golden days will be in abundance as we aim to shift 7 Lindas in September

I had crispy pork schnitzel with potato wedges and a big salad. It was so nice and the kids wolfed it too.

Well done on the belt TV and the early morning walking

I've been doing really badly this week and I'm too scared to weigh myself! Going to aim for a couple of 1200 calorie golden ish (silver?) days and then see what the damage is.

readyforsunshine · 20/09/2017 07:15

Hello everybody, I've been over on the Fitbit group but had it confiscated so will rejoin you all here if that's ok. I have been reading your posts, great to see your losses & some newbies Smile
Still no real weight loss here for me but feeling fitter, stronger & back in my old (not teeny tiny) jeans.
I'm 2 weeks into a drive to drop a dress size in 6 weeks & feeling frustrated about the lack of loss on the mood shifters. Have been made to do a food diary this week so there's no hiding!

readyforsunshine · 20/09/2017 07:18

Yesterday was lunch at wagamamas, homemade sweet & sour pork w rice & brocoli, brie w crackers & berries. & a glass of red so not a great day! I did an hour of PT, over 15000 steps & a yoga class.

ponygirlcurtis · 20/09/2017 07:29

Welcome back ready - hope you will be asking Santa for a Fitbit!

I saw a number starting with 10 on the scales this morning. I am taking it with a pinch of salt as I bounce so much but it was very nice to see it and I hope it sticks around.

HairsprayBabe · 20/09/2017 08:06

I was on track for a perfect fast day yesterday, then DP announced he was hungry as soon as he got in the door and dug crumpets out of the freezer.

Only had the one with lashings of butter but it would have been better if I could have resisted!

10.4 anyway today, so still a loss! I am hoping that 10.6 is my new set weight, so I don't keep bouncing so close to the 11's.
Second fast day today, just kicked it off with a bulletproof chai latte. Then it will be herbal tea and broth until tea time when we are having a harisa cabbage and white bean stew.

HappyGowerGirl · 20/09/2017 08:46

Had a fab meal last night, probably not the healthiest (Mexican) though it could be worse and I said no to pudding! However I did have half a bottle of wine😳

Weighed in at 9.10 today which is fine but I really don't want my weight slowly creeping up again!

Need to be golden today.

HappyGowerGirl · 20/09/2017 08:47

Ps Lashings of (salted of course!) butter are my downfall every time Hair! That stuff is like crack to me!

HairsprayBabe · 20/09/2017 08:53

I was going to avoid it, but I popped one in the toaster for DP and it looked lonely on it's own... plus melted salted butter is ambrosia.

We are going to Nandos for tea tomorrow, but I will be golden and just have salad and haloumi.

readyforsunshine · 20/09/2017 09:07

Woo hoo pony! I’d take that if I were you, 👍

QuimReaper · 20/09/2017 09:23

Waheeeey nice one pony definitely take it, and well done Hairspray! I'm having crumpets on Friday morning to congratulate myself on a stellar 10 days, I've been thinking about it all week Grin And well done on the 10.4, you're so close to the 9s now!

Can I ask about the cabbage stew? DH and MIL have planted red cabbages in the garden, I never ever ever use cabbage in cooking and I know they're going to start getting thrust on me at unusable rates Hmm so I need to get some recipes under my belt...!

QuimReaper · 20/09/2017 09:24

Spurious Golden is completely relative, if you say it's Golden then it is Smile

thismeansnothing · 20/09/2017 09:31

Mmmmmm salted butter....I don't even have it in the house anymore 😂 when we have had them they barely last a week 😱

Chicken stir fry last night. Hardly inspiring but needed something I could knock up in half an hour. Packed it with onion, mange tout, babycorn, mushroom, red pepper, Savoy cabbage and sweetcorn and I only had a few of the noodles. Making pork and Apple burgers for tea tonight out of the Eat Well for Less book. They are yummy.

HairsprayBabe · 20/09/2017 09:44

I get veg boxes and had an unreasonable amount of cabbage in the last few weeks.

I don't really have a recipe as such but it will be something like
1 onion
1 tbsp olive oil
1 pepper
1/2 chilli (more/less depending on your preference)
1 heaped tbsp of harissa paste
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
1 tin of white beans
8 medium cabbage leaves

Brown the onion in the olive oil and add the peppers, chilli and harissa paste.
Chuck in the tin of tomatoes and cook down till reduced (probs 25 mins on a med/high heat)
drain the beans and add them in
shred the cabbage leaves finely(removing thick stalks) and add to the pot, lid on and cook until the cabbage is tender.

Serve in bowls, goes nicely with couscous or flatbreads for non low carbers. I usually put a blob of greek yogurt on mine too.

Red is a little trickier to use up than green my fave thing to do with it is stick it in the slowcooker in the AM with water, honey, vinegar and a chopped onion, then serve with sausages at tea time. It is also really nice grated into coleslaw, if you mix in a tin of tuna then you have a good lunch of tuna coleslaw.
You can also pull the leaves off individually and use as a taco shell/wrap.

I find the veg box sites really handy for unusual veg recipes, not tried any of them specifically but they look nice!

BitOutOfPractice · 20/09/2017 10:03

1200 is golden spurious. I didn't get where I am today without counting 1200 as golden Wink I did 1200 a day for months and months when I was in the zone earlier in the year. I just need a half decent weekend to string two angel weeks together but I keep socialising instead

OP posts:
SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 20/09/2017 12:02

Sounds promising Pony! Fingers crossed the 10 sticks around Smile

I agree 1200 is a good amount of calories, but I think to be truly golden you need to do some exercise as well though, and except for maybe a walk this evening that probably won't happen this week. But I will eat as well as I can, the problem earlier in the week was I was coming home late from work and being so starving I was just grabbing the first thing I saw and gobbling it up! I have brought some diet-friendly microwave meals in with me today though, so if I get stuck here tonight I can eat one of those.

leesmum · 20/09/2017 17:12

Pony you will see 10 again before the week is out, that's a fantastic incentive to keep going 💪

Ready hiya you're doing fabulous too Star

Slender is Task ....right I'm off to get some crumpets for Fri.....thanks Quim Wink

readyforsunshine · 20/09/2017 21:19

👋 lees. Missing you already!

poorpaws · 20/09/2017 22:19

Readyforsunshine I read your post as "I'm 2 weeks into a drive to drop a dress size to size 6" 😳 I was sooooo impressed! It's late, I'm tired but really impressed 😂 Missing you, come back very soon.

QuimReaper · 20/09/2017 22:24

lees and some butter with huge crystals of sea salt in!

I misread sunshine's post in exactly the same way, I was impressed too!

readyforsunshine · 21/09/2017 07:05

There’s very little to be impressed about with my snail like progress paws & quim!
Stop with the crumpets & butter talk, I’m hopeless enough at restraint but I’ve next to o chance when it comes to anything bready, toasty & buttery!
Yesterday was veg hash & 2 eggs, beef & veg noodles, baked blueberry oatmeal. I did a 20 min tone it up routine & guess my steps were around 12000.
🤞 for you & your weigh in today pony!

HappyGowerGirl · 21/09/2017 07:28

Big mile stone for me today! Weighed in at 9.8 or thereabouts, which means I have lost 10lb since starting to love healthier one months ago! I went down from 144lb to 134lb. Feeling really good at the moment, physically and mentally.

I've got a significant birthday coming up tomorrow and then a weekend away this weekend, and I'm hoping I won't fall off the wagon too spectacularly...

HappyGowerGirl · 21/09/2017 07:28

LIVE not love

HairsprayBabe · 21/09/2017 08:09

Well done Happy Star

I love all these little markers we make in our own minds!

10.4 for me today, I will have to have steely determination this evening at Nando's but it can be done! Will get a big salad from waitrose for lunch and eat it lateish (2 maybe) so I am not starving to death when we arrive and all my good intentions fly out of the window!

ponygirlcurtis · 21/09/2017 08:32

Well done Happy, and happy significant birthday for tomorrow. Smile I like the idea of 'love healthier' - that would look good on one of BOOP's designs.

10.4 is fab Hairspray, you are doing so well. I bounced up a little this morning but having seen the 10s once I know I will see it again. Think I didn't drink enough water after the gym yesterday so shall be on mission hydrate today. I should just keep my hood down when I am outside in the playground at lunchtime, it's a wet day! #dreich
