With 15 weeks untill the beginning of December I'm aiming to lose 1 pound a week. First weigh in tomorrow - anyone want to join me?

I am starving! We've had to take DS up to a hospital appointment that's hours away, I managed to source a banana and a light babybel. I snapped at poor DH 😳 he was going on asking me if I wanted coffee/sandwich/subway/crisps etc etc, he's going through a period of eating whatever he fancies and I keep reminding him that I'm NOT eating calorific food at present, in the end I snapped "I'VE SAID NO DH, WILL YOU STOP ASKING!" It's because he doesn't feel he can sit with a subway and a coffee without me having one too.

No idea what to have for dinner, I've got loads of calories left, I have a rule about not drinking mid week so I won't 'spend' them on a G&T, gah, I might just have a jacket potato and go to bed early, I'm in a right funk today and I've got to work all day tomorrow and Saturday! 😭

HLBug · 24/08/2017 19:39

Tomorrow is weigh in day for me...fingers crossed for the needle to move in the right direction. I reckon I've had a pretty good week food wise, but absolutely no exercise at all. Averaging about 5-6,000 steps per day, boo. I'll report back in the morning...

wantawaistagain · 24/08/2017 21:33

I find it impossible to eat healthily when the kids are home all day in the holidays. People are constantly making toast and it's too hard to resist. Also my oldest likes to bake when she is bored. I can resist the fairy cakes and cookies but can't pass an apple crumble.

amroc18 · 24/08/2017 21:46

Notta can you add me on please, 11st2with a Christmas goal of 10, thanks!

Have had a rubbish day today, had some crap news and decided to feed the disappointment rather than trying to deal another way. Will do better tomorrow am determined!

FuckingHateRats · 24/08/2017 22:07

Good luck HLBug

Have not indulged tonight. Finished the day on 9800 steps which is less than normal by a few thousand :( tempted to weigh tomorrow to give me a boost.

theancientmarinader · 24/08/2017 22:32

I know it is entirely counter-productive but I love that everyone has the holiday blahs. I just want it to be over already. Today ds1 came upstairs at 3pm. I had actually completely forgotten he was in the house. Then ensued croissant baking merriment. He's 15. I didn't forget I owned a toddler. But omg go back to school already.
And I am old and crotchety and the optometrist said I should go to the gp and get my BP and cholesterol checked. So I am harrumphing. But I did order new glasses. 'Office glasses' set for 'desk vision'. Hmm The dude was beside himself with glee - somehow my eyes are now coincidentally magic - I am as shortsighted in one eye as I am long sighted in the other. He thought it was brilliant. So I don't need glasses for general wandering and everyday vision, but can see sweet FA on a computer screen. I'm going to be one of those irritating people that have to take their glasses off to talk.
I booked my gp appointment for tomorrow. It may be a pizza night if they are going to tell me I can never eat cheese again in the morning.

wantawaistagain · 24/08/2017 22:53

We have a lot in common, ancientmarinader. I need the kids to go back to school so that I can get a filling and also get my cholesterol and bp re-checked. Exciting.
We're in Ireland and it's one of the wettest Augusts I can remember. The kids have just given up on Summer and are lying around watching television for about 8 hours a day and I'm long out of wholesome, outdoor ideas at this stage.

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/08/2017 23:13

I'm.naming and shaming myself. Today has been a total fuck up. It

smellylittleorange · 25/08/2017 07:09

Hope yup ok Notta lotta? Had a fairly.good week ..concentrated on drinking lots and lots of water and trying to.eat mindfully for energy . Lots of salads protein, marmite, fruit and Greek yoghurt. I need to curb my butter habit. Bought a size 16 skirt.for work.from M and S..my stomach apron looks awful in it ...i need to address that too. Going to a festival this weekend with lovely food stalls arrrgghhn

FuckingHateRats · 25/08/2017 07:14

It's a new day NottaLotta

I'm in Scotland so we've been back for over a week now 😁 lovely to get back to normal although circumstances mean I have three more weeks of being home all day whilst they're at school and I seem to have picked up and habit of coffee dates most mornings. Should really nip that in the bud.

I bought some of that Greek yoghurt which is low in calories but high in protein, and will try that for breakfast to see if it keeps me full.

DH is off today and we're going to buy him a new suit...and then go out for coffee. Sigh.

Sparrowlegs248 · 25/08/2017 07:29

Thanks both, I'm OK. I need to rethink an eating plan. I was conscious that my usual weight loss way wouldn't work as I'm breastfeeding and hungry, so have been less strict and having carbs etc but I've still been left really too hungry and yesterday had a bit of a blow out. Not too bad but not great.

As you say rats It's a new day! Shreddies for breakfast. Got a lot on today, going to take some fruit and water out with me so I'm not completely caught out.

What an amazing and supportive thread..please can I join? I would like to lose half a stone to a stone by Christmas. I currently weigh about 10st 4/5 pounds (I fluctuate a bit), and I would like to go down to 9 stone 7...I am 5'6 if that helps!?

I plan to do little to no carbs and am thinking of hooking myself up with a PT twice a week and do couch to 5k (I am not a runner) 3 times a week.

Am I being realistic?

NaughtyElephants · 25/08/2017 07:40

Just weighed in. Exactly the same as last weekShock

But I had a cheeky weigh Wednesday and was 1.2 pounds lighter. So this sucks.

Guess I'd better leaver the chart unchanged for now.

Hope everyone else has a great day today and good luck to any fellow weighing bods!

Sparrowlegs248 · 25/08/2017 07:44

It's rubbish Naughty isn't it? I'm.over 4lbs heavier this morning, a week since I started, but on my own scales rather than my mums. Still haven't bought new ones, going to town today so may get some. Or else reset my start weight with my own scales.

Will add you splat. It's all relative isn't it? I'm 5ft 7 and your start weight is lower than my target!!

Thank you Notta..i think this group will be a huge help!! So hard to stay motivated. My weakness are sweeties! I honestly go into a sugar coma and have picked up bags of giant strawberries in the shop and eaten them in my car on the way home without thinking/processing! I am also someone who feels that once i have done that I might as well keep going so eat more bad stuff, promising myself I will start fresh and healthy the next day!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 25/08/2017 08:07

Good morning ladies.
I have noticed I have been gradually using may calorie allowance more on junk food like biscuits and hot chocolate etc, even though I've been without calorie allowance I don't think it's a good habit for me to slip into, so today I'm going to be mindful of that and try not to have any sugary snacks today.

Flowers to those suffering, today is a new day and each hour is a new one.

FuckingHateRats · 25/08/2017 08:09

Omg I do that too. Aldi teeth and lips are my ultimate downfall.

Notta bf is such an odd one and affects everyone so differently. When I fed mine, it dropped off me. I was in size 10s when baby was 6wks. Could eat a tub of ice cream every night. As soon as I stopped it was another fucking story however! My friend could not drop an entire pound the whole time she was bf. How old is your child?

I weighed this morning and was 12st 5 3/4 lb, so had lost a little. Just hope I can maintain that until Monday when it's my actual weigh in day, when I'll update with official weigh.

dewberries · 25/08/2017 08:17

I'm a twat.

Woke up at 3am and ate two massive bowls of cereal with sugar, a piece of toast and marmalade and a yogurt and then went back to be bed bloated. I literally couldn't stop.

I am annoyed at myself but today's a new day right?

Sparrowlegs248 · 25/08/2017 08:18

So, I've just made the decision to just go with my (broken) scales. TMI ALERT went to the loo (no2) and then got on the scales again. I've put 1.5lb on in half an hour.

So, new scales it is then!!

splat forgot to add, for me, anything below 10St 7 isn't realistic. I seem to weigh heavy, am quite muscular (not massively so) and look nice and slim at 10St 7.

I weighed just over 9St for many years doing an incredibly active job and having youth on my side, looking back I was really very thin. It wouldn't suit me now (need a bit of fat to plump the wrinkles out.....)

Sparrowlegs248 · 25/08/2017 08:23

I wish that was the case rats Ds is 6 months old. His brother is 2 and had his last feed (his choice) a week before Ds2 was born!

I feel better so am sure something is working, but I am very scales orientated and like to see a smaller number, it helps keep me focused.

splatattack · 25/08/2017 08:48

Hi Notta, I completely agree! Weight can look so different on different people...and losing too much can be very aging!! I have friends who are around my height and they must weight about 8.5 stone, they look great but I would look emaciated and I'll...

Does anyone else find that when they go gluten free their cheeks slim down quite a lot? When I have done gf in the past I end up with cheekbones I didn't know I had?? I don't think I'm gluten intolerant or anything, just change my diet up every now and again...

HLBug · 25/08/2017 09:46

So I weighed in this morning and have lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks - not brilliant, but better than nothing. And if I keep up a 1 pound per week average I'll drop over a stone by Christmas...which would be just lovely!!

Msqueen33 · 25/08/2017 09:47

Crikey is that all that's left until Christmas. I'm in I weighed this morning at 13'12. I'm beyond ashamed and would like to be 10 stone if not less. I will not be a Christmas pudding this year.
