With 15 weeks untill the beginning of December I'm aiming to lose 1 pound a week. First weigh in tomorrow - anyone want to join me?

OP posts:
jd88123 · 27/08/2017 12:40

Can I join too please? 2 stone to lose for xmas
.eeek. using mfp and juiceplus shakes and exercise. Any tips?

Rhayader · 27/08/2017 12:42

Ive been on the "slow carb" diet for a month now -- lost about 4KG. On the diet you are allowed one day a week where you stuff your face as much as you want but were visiting our inlaws and i really really want a curry. V tempted to break the diet.

jd88123 · 27/08/2017 12:52

Really? I dont know if i would lose weight doing this one. My metabolism is bordering on underactive thyorid. My bloods are always on the cusp of being prescribed thyroxine. I am 11.6 stone btw for the stats. What day is everyone doing weigh in?

WildIrishRose1 · 27/08/2017 13:21

Nottalotta v impressed with your lists! Organised or what? Keep up the good work, everyone!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/08/2017 13:42

Oh my goodness! We went for a walk today and DH decided to 'explore' a path off the main path and we ended up lost, walking along a bridal path for 2 hours. I packed a picnic of crudités and hummus and fruit and then sandwiches for the kids. By the time we'd finally found the car I would have eaten whatever was in front of me, it's 28 degrees and I'm tired! Sadly no one appeared so I'm still running on the eggs I had for breakfast and the crudités and banana I had while out. 16k steps done though. I think my legs might fall off....

We're meant to be doing the zoo tomorrow, anyone for any good ideas for an easy picnic that isn't going to break the calorie bank?
Sick of salads!

pfrench · 27/08/2017 18:18

Make little frittatas in muffin tins? Peppers, mushrooms, ham or whatever, bit of cheese, egg.

I failed miserably today, but never mind.

pfrench · 27/08/2017 18:19

Also wondering whether I need to weigh so I can 'see' some immediate results rather than waiting for it to show on my body. A 'feel fat' day makes me much more likely to go off the rails, when it's not really a reflection of anything other than a feeling.

Sparrowlegs248 · 27/08/2017 19:27

I've just added my calories onto mfp, am over including dinner, even though I had salad for lunch! I'm.having burgers with salad for dinner. I resisted eating the toddler leftovers, but did have two slices of malt loaf and a full fat yogurt. Without those I'd have been OK, but starving.

Off to chop salad and grill burgers..... Busy day, Wil catch up later

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 27/08/2017 19:39

Awful day here, feel exhausted and teary.
Chip butty for tea and an Oreo ice cream Sad

theancientmarinader · 27/08/2017 20:12

God I love malt loaf. And you need good thick butter too.

Chia pudding actually v nice. Grin can see that might sneak into the breakfast options. Had a leftover balsamic pork sandwich for lunch. Should have made a salad really as I wanted to avoid bread as far as possible. Tacos tonight (kids are cooking) but it doesn't worry me as I'll just go easy on the tortillas and cheese and heavy on the salads various and salsa.

I'm going to make a big batch of butternut squash soup this afternoon, so I can just have a bowl of that if I'm hungry, instead of scavenging the cupboards. Do any of you keep 'something' to grab quickly if you are hungry to prevent being swept away by sugarier options?

Tomorrow is another day marmalade (and anyone else who isn't feeling great x)

Sparrowlegs248 · 27/08/2017 22:09

OK trying a proper read and catch up! Babies steal my time.

I'll do stats tomorrow (I'm going to weigh on my new scales, had a trial this evening, all OK, gave the same weight several times!!)

Rats what is your husband doing to lose so well? Can he give us tips?!

Sparrowlegs248 · 27/08/2017 22:20

Marmalade have you been running long? I used to, pre babies and miss it. Im not fast but I find it clears my mind and I feel a real sense of achievement. Used to parkin weekly. Im thinking of trying a jog with the buggy......

rhayader what do you do the rest of the week on this diet? Sounds interesting!

Tits well that's plenty of exercise, it was bloody hot for it. Did you manage not to chew your own leg off?! Prime diet fail time for me, starving and nothing to hand. I took salad (yawn) and one if those packs of sliced chicken from Tesco, lime and chilli or similar, for our picnic. Husband had cream cheese and ham sandwiches, (4slices.....) a sausage roll, crisps, and bought a slab of rocky road. Grrr.

Pfrench, we're you going to do pics? I really need to weigh, I can't cope otherwise! Addicted to scales.

Chin up marmalade it happens, tomorrow is a new day. Maybe make a plan for it?

Theancient I love malt loaf too. I had NO butter though!! It's really low fat without a slice of butter on top, and filling. really not convinced on the Chia pudding. How do you make it? Isn't it all gloopy and egg white like? I used to make linseed jelly for my old horse, reminds me of that. Boak.

For snacks I boil several eggs and keep them in the fridge. Peckish, and fruit nit cutting it, have an egg. Or chicken. Crab sticks.

I'm looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow, I feel I've been really good today even if I went over calories.

Swimming with the tots in the morning, so no real swimming for me.

Sparrowlegs248 · 27/08/2017 22:21

Oh and I must be working some calories off with the murderous rage I'm feeling towards husband.

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 27/08/2017 23:08

Notta only for a couple of years. I'm not fast at all, but I get from A to B Grin quite a few races coming up, then training for a marathon next year. I know loads of people who run with a buggy, most of them bloody beat me at parkrun!
I definitely need a plan for tomorrow!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 28/08/2017 06:39

Early weigh in today. -2 for me, I'm happy with that! 6lbs gone all together. 😊

TitsalinaBumSquash · 28/08/2017 06:53

The he, I've also gone from the obese category of bmi chart to overweight.😊😊

WildIrishRose1 · 28/08/2017 07:03

That's good news, squash, sets you up for the day. I'm back at school this morning, so at least I won't have unfettered access to my kitchen😳 also I'm hoping to get back into a routine and cut out the grazing ...

FuckingHateRats · 28/08/2017 07:08

Well done Tits!

Weighed in and am 12st 5 1/2, so still a loss from last week.

He's doing macros? It's dull as sin. High fat low carb. But also running and lifting weights. He's very tall (6ft 6) and ex-rugby player with the body to match, so he can drop a stone quite easily as he's a big person iyswim. Still, you can see the difference and it's noticeable!

Wishfulmakeupping · 28/08/2017 07:33

I'm still lurking but it's been my birthday so nights outs and cake means I've either stayed the same or gained- from tomo both myself and Dh are starting healthier eating so hopefully that will kick start my weight loss- well done to everyone doing so well on here.

HappyMum543 · 28/08/2017 08:03

Hi can am I too late to join?
I weigh 10.3 but want to loose about a stone I'm 5.3. I weigh myself on Saturday mornings empty stomach

Sparrowlegs248 · 28/08/2017 08:35

Blimey well done Tits!!

I'm going to need to stay focused this week. Just weighed on new scales. EXACTLY the same as on mums scales a week and a half ago. I know what I've eaten and would have expected at least a couple of pounds off, so it is a bit disappointing. Still, I know these ones work and don't have broken feet like my others, so will go from here.

Off swimming now, will update stats later.

Rats is that an 'official' weigh in?

juggles6 · 28/08/2017 09:06

Am I too late to join?
I did the bsd before the summer and lost 2 stone in 8 weeks,
Have got the confidence to wear jeans, and to go swimming with the kids something I wouldn't normally do and just do life guard duties. The other thing I've noticed is, my knickers! I thought they were hipsters but now they are almost under my armpits!!
I've had the summer off of the diet but have mainly stuck to the principles no bread pasta or potatoes can't say the same for the wine tho. 10,000 steps daily plus swimming and bike riding have got another week away, then straight back on to the scales

FuckingHateRats · 28/08/2017 09:14

Yes that's official and it means I've lost 3lb 1/4 total so far.

Walked to school and back this morning (35m walk). Forgot my phone which tracks my steps, am annoyed! Came back and am having a bowl of Greek yoghurt with a banana, some honey and a sprinkling of muesli.

Planning chicken salad for lunch with houmous, and some kind of tomato pasta dish for dinner.

NaughtyElephants · 28/08/2017 09:21

Just checking back in, lots of positive losses which is brilliant so well done gang, and some new people - hello!

I also tried a cheeky not-weigh-day weigh in after the disappointment of Friday. Have managed a 3lb loss so now 12st4 and v pleased about it as its only been 10 days and included eating fish & chips and a roast lamb dinner plus cheesecake and other non diet foods because of bank hol.

Notta I think your loss will take longer to register because of bf - your body knows it needs to produce milk so it's hanging onto fat stores but it'll reset itself soon enough when it gets the message. Keep at it.

stitchglitched · 28/08/2017 09:25

Just done my first 'official' weigh in, 11st 2 still. DP has now put the scales out of my reach for a week! I'm desperate to see the 10st bracket on the scales, my plan for this week is to be really strict on no carbs and stick to only eating during an 8 hour period. They seem to be the only things that work for me. Already hungry, off to have a cup of green tea and hope that stops the cramps!
