I am starting a new job in September and I am 2 stone overweight .

Obviously I won't lose all of it in 6 weeks but maybe a stone is possible ?

I was doing so well , I was running 3 times a week and eating like a normal person but this last few weeks have been very busy socially and I have let everything slide ( including the scales in the wrong drection )

My plan is to get out for a run or to the gym 4 times a week.
Knock the booze on the head Mon -thurs
Eat like a slim person would.
Drink more water.

Anyone who has a spare kick is also welcome.

The workout? It's an app that has a daily workout. I keep seeing ads on Facebook for it. 7 minutes doesn't sound too painful does it?

Howlongtillbedtime · 24/07/2017 06:17

7 mins does sound doable. I will have a look and see what I can find thank you.

Can I join? Have 3 stone to lose but want to lose a stone at least in the next 6 weeks. I won't see lots of the usual people until school goes back and I have a wedding and of August. Want people to notice when I see them as it will spur me on to do the rest of it. Almost lost a stone already but new to running so going to see how I go.

OnePlanOnHouzz · 24/07/2017 06:44

Ah - been here - did the gym /running / no drinking Monday to Friday - was great in theory but used to put it all back on over the weekend !

So now it's all or nothing !! generally 2months getting fit again - then a month of 'off the rails ' and I'm back to square one again !!

So my advice is forget weekends off - or you'll never get there ! Just keep up the phizz and lower cals for the solid 6 weeks !

Howlongtillbedtime · 24/07/2017 06:47

Welcome byebye I refuse to call you chubby !

What running are you doing ? I finished couch to 5k back in May and was doing well but have let things go to white this last month and it is proving painful to get back into.
Sounds like we have a similar amount to lose.

Good morning all. Well the scales as predicted went upwards. I deserve it I ate more than I should have last night. So I know if I have a great day today I will probably have a great day tomorrow. Have a good day and wow to all you gym goers and runners

KeiraTwiceKnightley · 24/07/2017 07:17

Morning all. I'm doing ok and feeling motivated but not losing any weight really. Going to ramp up the high protein, low carb this week and make sure I keep moving. Got my period today so that may help tomorrow (I'm a daily weigher too).

30 day shred really works if you commit to it. You do need to change into sports bra and trainers as there is a lot of jumping around - and you will need a shower after! You can also expect to HURT after the first few sessions though it quickly improves. There's often a support thread on here if you want extra motivation. .

Howlongtillbedtime · 24/07/2017 09:18

First day of shred done . Shit it's tough !

I failed on a couple of moves and I think I might hurt tomorrow but I can see why it would work.

If it doesn't kill you before the 30 days is up ....

Can I join?

I have a pesky half a stone to lose and I'm determined to try and get rid by September. I know it's because I just keep popping biscuits etc and it needs to stop!

I've been out for a run already and am determined to eat better. Two glasses of water and poached eggs on granary bread so far. I must not go near the biscuits.

Ninjakittysmells · 24/07/2017 11:26

I am doing the shred too! I really like it as it's over so quickly and you see results!

I went to bootcamp this morning. I am 173.5lbs according to their scales, so I'm aiming for 150lbs in 6 weeks time. It was really hard - but I did it! I'm happy to put up the diet plan if anyone wants to copy it from afar.

How's everyone else getting on?

PurpleDaisies · 24/07/2017 13:31

I'm down 0.5kg which I'm pleased about given I've eaten a load of end of term presents from pupils. I'm halfway through a long drive and stopped at services for lunch. Starbucks cous cous, broccoli and halloumi salad was the healthiest looking option and really nice. It's going to hard to stay with healthy options.

chubbytubbybyebye · 24/07/2017 15:16

So I've been for a run. Managed 40% run 60% walk for 2.2km now in a sweaty heap until my legs will hold me up for a shower. Will take water next time think it'll help.

CalorieTowers · 24/07/2017 19:21

Well done everyone! Managed to cycle to and from work today so a total of 10 miles and I've eaten okay so far with only two Jaffa cakes as my treat. Am going to see if I can do a short run first thing in the morning. I've done the 30 day shred before and it was great but bloody hell I hurt from it! Ideal would be to lose a stone by the end of the school holidays and another stone by end of October with rest by Christmas. Is this doable do you think (assuming I don't fall into the mince pie trap in December...) I think I will need several sharp kicks up the arse though from you lot!

kkkkaty123 · 24/07/2017 20:47

Hi all, ok no real activity today. WAs going to go for a long walk with dc but it was raining all day. However food has been spot on. Evenings have been tough for me lately so it's good to come on here to put a full stop on the day. Hope everyone else's day was good. I will log back in in the morning.

WeatherDependent · 24/07/2017 22:35

It is half past 10 and no biscuits have left the packet. I've decided to have a drink each time I'm tempted (water or tea not a flaming sambuca!)

RubySlippers77 · 24/07/2017 23:05

Well done Weather - you clearly have more willpower than me as I think biscuits automatically go with tea!! That's why I don't drink it Grin

I avoided the biscuit tin today but it was a struggle. Squabbling DCs do not make for a happy mummy!

Howlongtillbedtime · 25/07/2017 06:48

Morning all

You are all doing loads better than me on the good front.

Since starting this on Saturday I have been out for dinner and failed
Big fat roast beef dinner and failed
Cinema last night which tradition dictates we eat burgers.

Not doing too bad on the exercise thing but I really need a kick on the diet front. Am working night now till Friday and I don't eat much on shift so that should help.

My plan today is to just stick to the bloody plan foodwise!
And to go for a walk or run and do day 2 of the evil shred .

Good luck everyone!

Me! Me! Is it too late to join? Blush I often lurk on these threads and often dream of exercising one day like I used to. Met DP and got comfortable and let myself go a little Blush I'm 5'4" and used to be under 7 stones and now I'm just over 11 stones. Ideally would like to go back to 7 stones but have realised unrealistic targets aren't helping me. So I'd like to loose a stone by August and take it from there. One stone is realistic right? ConfusedBlush

Howlongtillbedtime · 25/07/2017 07:21

Definitely not too late . I have been here since Saturday and still have to start again today.

What is your plan ?

Mine is just to get off my arse more and spend less time eating cheese and biscuits. Sounds easy when put like that.

If only.........

Ninjakittysmells · 25/07/2017 07:43

Everything hurts today! I've woken up starving and with a cracking headache. Went to the loo and am walking like John Wayne!

Does anyone know how long the 'detox' headache phase lasts? I felt so much better last time when I did this, I know I will get there again but this bit is a bit rubbish!

gttia · 25/07/2017 08:07

I'll join, been trying for months and lack any motivation. Need a stone off! Gym tonight but think a daily small work out at home would be good too

Howlongtillbedtime · 25/07/2017 08:07

I am not sure on the headache sorry. Sounds grim, my legs are very ouchy today. The idea of do it the shred again today is scary but I am going to give it my best shot.

Hope you feel better ninja

OP posts:
Ninjakittysmells · 25/07/2017 08:13

I'll do the shred with you later as I need to do an independent work out. Come on! We can do this! (I'm writing this from my bed, my outlook may change once I'm not horizontal mind!)

I asked on my gyms support group page thingy and apparently day 4/5 my detox headache should clear...... it's not unreasonable for me to just stay in bed all this week then is it to see it through?! Grin

Comingoutoftheshadows · 25/07/2017 08:33

I'll join too! I have 8 weeks until my holiday and I need to sort out my diet and exercise. I don't know how much I have to lose - I definitely need a few pounds off my tummy/middle and then some serious toning.

Diet-wise I'm just planning to cut the crap out and start making proper lunches for work again (I have gotten into lazy habits). No more snacking in the evening - and no booze except for a couple on Friday and Saturday nights.

For exercise I have to take things easy enough as I have back problems but there is plenty I could be doing - walking and some strength exercises.

I've made a few attempts at starting before but have struggled with energy and motivation. Time is running out now. This will be our first holiday in 4 years and I've had 2 DC in that time so I want to feel confident.
