Excellent work Chard so glad you are on the mend Flowers

I love STS when you have had a "bad" few days, I have only ever managed it once in Switzerland, and I think it was all the walking I did.

I am getting serious panic of how to limit damage while on holiday, I think I will just walk as much as possible, and not use every meal as an excuse to pig out! Grin

QuimReaper · 20/06/2017 10:37

Wooooop congrats on the interview Hairspray! Damage limitation on holiday is so hard. I still haven't recovered from America which was in April Hmm It was only a few pounds' gain, but so hard to shift.

TVHubbyClaire · 20/06/2017 11:59

Fabulous NSV hairspray, that must feel goodSmile

QuimReaper · 20/06/2017 18:12

Feeling very pleased with myself - went out in the boiling bloody weather and racked up a bit under 9km, not even 13,000 steps but I was so not in the mood and my feet swelled up and gave me blisters, so I'm feeling all virtuous Halo

lastqueenofscotland · 20/06/2017 22:06

I just can't see to get a handle on myself at all at the moment. So frustrating.

poorpaws · 20/06/2017 22:43

I'm still failing miserably! I've done nothing but eat since the 3 pounds gain. I had a meal out today and chose all the wrong things and didn't even enjoy it. I'm having a meal out tomorrow at my usual eating place so I know I will at least enjoy that.

Tomorrow night is Weight Watchers and I'm not quite sure what excuse to give. I feel like saying I've been away on holiday but that would be very naughty indeed. I might still do it though.

Well done to those on track, I wish I could join you.

lastqueenofscotland · 21/06/2017 07:07

Considering the slate wiped clean. All my meals planned out till Friday and been to the gym to start the day.

HairsprayBabe · 21/06/2017 07:47

So went for dinner out last night, and ate like an angel, split a small starter with DP, then had amazing salad bar for my main, with a second trip just for leafy stuff! One spoon of DP's mac and cheese with maple syrup - holy fuck it was good, and I thought it would be gross!

Then we had fire pit marshmallows for dessert, 1 marshmallow is 23 cals and I had 5.

10.6 for me this morning, back at the start of the month... again, 9 days to lose 7lbs.... I can do it right?!

QuimReaper · 21/06/2017 09:36

Good job queenie, that's the ticket! And wow Hairspray you're an inspiration!

Wondering how koko is getting on with her shakes?

HairsprayBabe · 21/06/2017 09:41

I may be failing to mention that the small starter was deep fried gherkins!

QuimReaper · 21/06/2017 09:48

Still an inspiration: I'd have eaten a whole deep-fried starter (providing there was something other than gherkins) Grin

I have been doing the exact same thing since april KOKO it is such a PITA I have to schedule in two "good" weekends a month now and there are always last second plans I forget about!

lastqueenofscotland · 21/06/2017 12:34

KOKO booking a holiday and not wanting to scare people has been the kick unneeded!

QuimReaper · 21/06/2017 12:46

koko that is so frustrating - but 2 lindas a week is not a bad rate of loss, is it? I always do the same, I chip away at the weight slooooowly because I lose during the week and then regain at the weekend and then lose again... I think of it as an elastic band: you stretch it to its limit and then you let it ping back, but it doesn't ping right back to its original position. Then you stretch it again and let it go again, and each time you make a small permanent difference.

Not a great analogy as we're trying to get smaller rather than baggier, but you see what I mean Grin

Two steps forward, one step back is still a step forward, right?!

YES exactly! I think it's unreasonable to try and lose weight every single day. Your weight will always fluctuate during the day, from one day to the next, etc., the main thing is to have a downward trend (if you're losing - a non-upward trend otherwise!).

How many cals a day are you having with the shakes?

Also just a thought, ignore if it isn't helpful, but when I'm trying to do hardcore fasting for a short period I tend to make meals which can either be batch-cooked or made ahead: so I'll make a frittata in the morning when I'm not hungry, which I can then bung in the fridge for DH can have slices of, or shove a load of fish pies in the freezer, so I don't have to prepare and be around lovely hot tempting food in the evenings, or make a big slow cooker stew and leave it in a big tub in the fridge for him to help himself to. Something you could consider.

koko I more meant with regards to preparing food for others, so you don't have to torture yourself preparing food which you're not allowed! Also a good idea for yourself of course, because as you say, sometimes taking the decision-making out of the thing can be the solution.

TVHubbyClaire · 21/06/2017 18:13

I am definitely on the one step forward and one step back wagon right nowBlush

In the freezing North(12C , windy and raining right nowAngry) I can't find the motivation to go out walking.

Badminton yesterday and again tomorrow but its really only scratching the exercise surfaceSad

question for today I read a diet leaflet based on calorie counting and its advice was 2 portions of fruit and unlimited vegetables as part of daily eating. Does this mean that I can eat as many of the super lovely sweet tomatoes from M&S that I want and it has no downside on my weight the next day?

Sounds like a very easy way to reduce other food and meal sizes. I must be missing something.

Apologies if I'm being daft, I'm sure one of you experienced slenderistas can put me straight....thanksSmile

QuimReaper · 21/06/2017 18:16

Fucking hell TV you're kidding?! It's 33 here, it's unbearably hot! I thought it was all over!

TVHubbyClaire · 21/06/2017 18:38

Quim sky is grey as grey can be, there is a wind blowing the trees and its raining......I kid you notSad
It was 14C when I was out in the car at midday and since then its started raining and the wind got up so I'm assuming 12C now
