Wow TV amazing time, that's great! Especially with no training to speak of, fantastic result!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes Grin Over 11K steps today so far and minuscule calorie intake, so a good start to the day!

im going to lose my handle on this

BitOutOfPractice · 15/05/2017 20:17

KOKO how about giving up booze for x amount of time? Drive to your dinners so you're not tempted.

It's do hard when there's little people around.

I know what you mean about low self esteem not stopping you picking. It's almost like I struggle to link the image in the mirror with what I put in my mouth

Hello, lovely Slenderistas!

Quim, happy birthday and yay for the frock victory!

TV, fantastic running time, well done you!

KOKO, what about trying the No S diet? It sounds like snacking/picking is your downfall - what about trying to cut that out, but only that? Ie, eat three decent-sized meals a day, but focus on not picking in between? Change your thinking - you aren't about reducing calories/carbs - right now, you want to stop the picking. Then once you feel used to that, try reducing portion sizes a bit (but gradually, so you don't feel too deprived)?

I haven't weighed for a couple of days, but I have magically fitted into my smallest skirt! Which is a Topshop size 10! I had to take it off as soon as I got home because it was digging into my waist painfully, but even so 4 days to go until my sister's wedding!

I am so looking forward to the wedding, but also to the relaxation of stress-heading about it. Afterwards I am going to focus on exercise rather than calorie-restriction - my goal will be to do No S, eat three sensible, healthy meals a day 5 days a week, and try to exercise 4 or 5 times a week. I still have a good stone to lose, but I'm going to aim at slow and steady for a while and see where that takes me.

PinkGlitter17 · 15/05/2017 21:36

Just back from SW. My second time, so first weigh-in since joining. I've lost 4lb! Just really through not grazing. I had reached the point where I was eating two packets of crisps at a time, or three or four biscuits once or twice a day. So chuffed!

BeyondStrongAndStable · 15/05/2017 21:57

I had a smidge of cake again earlier Blush

Good day apart from that. Got my step goal nice and early :)

QuimReaper · 15/05/2017 22:19

Thank you Cheddar and bloody amazing work on the tiny skirt! koko I think Cheddar might be on to something with the No S diet: nibbling is clearly your downfall but it's really nothing more than a bad habit, so if you can have a strict regime of not doing it for say, a week, I think you'd be surprised at how quickly it gets easier. You're so right though, it is so hard when there's temptation everywhere. Are you actually eating enough at mealtimes? It can be tempting when you know you're a picker and are incandescent with good intentions to try and get by on measly portions to counteract the nibbling, but you're really setting yourself up for failure if you take that approach.

A couple of non-nibbling tips I've picked up from the Internet are to chew gum whilst cooking to stop you being able to put anything in your mouth, or even better, to use those tooth whitening strips. You really won't be spitting one of those out for a spoonful of beans, and you can just keep it in until you've ploughed through cooking and serving and dumped all the dishes in soapy water or something.

Remember me? Forgive me sisters (and TV) for my food related sins. The good news is that I've only put half a pound on, but I need to get back on that wagon now.

Weight is 194lb, having started the year at 212. I have a wedding on July 8th and want to lose at least 6lb by then.

Morning ladies, just checking in with you all, just weighed myself and no loss for me this week but no gain either. I had an indulgent weekend and enjoyed every minute of it but need to get back on it this week Smile
I'm so impressed by your success story and it's helping to hear that it's not just me that's had a bit of a wobble!!
Keep it up you lot 💪

BeyondStrongAndStable · 16/05/2017 07:39

Hi arsey Grin

Weighing in at 217.4lbs today, down 1.8 on yesterdays weird weight and 9.2 lbs overall. Clearly up too early as I read it as 211lbs and thought I'd lost 8 overnight

Stellar67 · 16/05/2017 07:57

Morning ladies and TV, checking in.

I have succumbed to some sort of bug. And have no tastebuds.

Congratulations tv! StarStarStar I had thought this Tenniswas a medal but seems Wimbledon is looming....

Happy Birthday quims. Wishing you a marvellous year!

Hi Arsey, long time etc.

I'm off to shuffle people to school, and write some lists. I love a good list.

HairsprayBabe · 16/05/2017 08:08

Good Morning all, had a very golden day yesterday, finished on 517cals and I have been rewarded justly, 10.12 this morning, so 3lbs off, and still on track for -7 for the month, but really I am hoping for more.

No plans for this weekend or next weekend, so hopefully I can stick to being good at the weekends too and really get over this hump!

Hope you had a lovely birthday Quim and congrats on the slinky dress!

BeyondStrongAndStable · 16/05/2017 08:38

Sorry, I need to work on my scan-reading - happy birthday Quim!! 🎂

Balonder · 16/05/2017 08:51

Happy Birthday Quim. Excellent time TV, it's a big jump to half marathon, I have never done more than a 10k.
4lbs down last week which is 6 so far for the month. Am hoping for 10lbs for the month as I have another 2 weeks of KB challenge

Archduke · 16/05/2017 09:47

Hi Arsey I've missed you! So good to see you back. How's the running going? You were one of my running inspo's Grin

I was going to enter my second 10km race today (it takes place at the end of this month) but I got into the groove whilst out this morning and ran/walked 21.1km (half marathon) in 2hr 45mins, which is slooooow but under the 8m30sec cut off time, so think I might as well enter that!
TV do it, do it, you have heaps of time to train and if you're not fussed about speed (which I'm clearly not) it's easily doable.

Food has been fine really; Koko, I find snacking is creeping up on me but I try to have a handful of almonds or fruit rather than chips etc to fill me up (Christ I sound like sodding Gwynneth). But the no S diet looks excellent. But really Quim is right, it's just another bad habit, and bad habits are ALWAYS better conquered by going cold turkey.

QuimReaper · 16/05/2017 10:12

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! Star

koko No S couldn't be simpler: no Seconds, no Snacks and no Sugar

EXCEPT

on days that begin with an S or Special days.

It appeals to me with the release valve element Grin I basically do this, except that I count Friday as a Special day... Blush

Balonder you're doing amazingly, well done! What is the KB challenge? (Sorry, you've probably explained it upthread but I missed it!)

ARSEY! You're BACK! Grin Hope you've been silent because of something jolly exciting like a holiday, and not something awful like work stress?

TVHubbyClaire · 16/05/2017 10:13

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments on my weekend run, so nice of you all Smile

getting going on half marathon training will be a challenge. I did do a couple a few years ago and like you Archy I'm not too fussed about times. Something around 2.15 would be my target but obviously lots of training required for that.

In other news I weighed myself again at 12st 9 this morning. I'm hoping I have broken into a new bracket and can focus on getting lower rather than always worrying I will be back up above 12st 12 again...fingers crossed
