BOOP ...ehm no...DW is no fan of ClaireSad

On the positive side I have avoided the cake so far and agree that getting close to or hitting 12st 7 will make me feel much much better than a piece of cake will now and of course I don't want to disappoint you all.....Halo

BitOutOfPractice · 10/05/2017 12:39

That's almost exactly what I had to lose. It's taken me a year mind you. Slow and steady wins the race.

HairsprayBabe · 10/05/2017 13:07

I had the smallest 1/2 slice of cake, one truffle and everything else was reasonably good,

mini omelette bites, hummus, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, cheese and olives.

Have removed myself from the buffet table now!

TV "...ehm no...DW is no fan of Claire" You'll have to explain that - is Claire your alterego? Grin

Contact mayo shouldn't be a problem should it? I've just checked my jar of mayo and it's 1.8g of carbs per 100g, so it should be fine, if not encouraged on a low carb diet!

Beyond that's AMAZING - half a stone in 10 days?! Incredible!

I've had a golden start. One egg, a green smoothie and two BabyBels (and now some mayonnaise Blush ) and already at about 9K steps with another trip out to come!

QuimReaper · 10/05/2017 15:05

Also Archie I meant to say, I'm so pleased for you about the second interview! It must have gone a lot better than you thought!

Squiffy01 · 10/05/2017 15:10

koko it is so hard isn't it!
When I first started using hairy dieters I did lose weight just doing that for dinner. Had bagel for breakfast and either leftovers or soup for lunch. I think there it is real tasty food but it helped me with my portion control. I remember being so shocked when I only got 2 sausages for my meal.... which is very much enough but i had just lost/never had normal portions.
I find it so difficult to stay on track though especially, like you, with all the food prep at work for the children.
I have just re joined WW as I find that is the only way for me to properly stay on track. It's not even the program it is knowing someone is going to weigh me and I have to stick to it.

I could never do low carb long term on give up sugar.

I think it's just about finding something you can stick to. I will probably be on some sort of diet/watching my weight all my life because I crave crap food. Vegetable sticks and fruit can be quite a tasty snack but I would never choose to snack on them not being on a diet. I will never be the person that has he salad even if the salad has a lot of calories they just don't do it for me.

Do you have a lot still to lose? Maybe that's why you have to work really had at it?

BitOutOfPractice · 10/05/2017 15:40

KOKO I know you must roll your eyes at how I bang on about the Hairy Dieters but I honestly don't think I could've lost this much weight without them. (Other factors obviously).

I probably cook out of a HD book at least 5 nights a week. That means I know I'll be having a really good, tasty, decent sized dinner that works within a 1200 calorie a day regime.

Their dinners, with a small amount of carb added, usually work out at 500 calories. So I allow myself around 250 for breakfast and 260 for lunch giving me 200 calories for wine to play with. If you can stick to that for as long as possible, then you'll succeed, I'm convinced of it.

As a bonus, some of their recipes are now family favourites and the kids ask for them for dinner. I honestly think I'll carry on cooking some of them forever.

As a parting shot, the HDs have an online diet club. I've not used it so I don't know what it's like but if it's as good as their food, I'd be tempted to try it.

QuimReaper · 10/05/2017 15:57

Remind me which HD book you have BOOP? Or do you have them all?

readyforsunshine · 10/05/2017 16:03

Hello all, I've been reading but not posting as I've been feeling rubbish again which means as usual I got derailed & stuck into the carbs, anything to help my energy. I have finally (after 2 years) seen a specialist & he thinks I have fibromyalgia. I've looked it up & it sounds just like me. He has given me the go ahead to exercise, I was concerned that it may make me worse. I feel quite positive & hope that now that I understand the pain & lethargy, perhaps I can manage it better?
I'm going for an assessment at the gym tomo as I know I need support as I can't motivate myself to exercise when I'm feeling rubbish. I feel that if I can lose this weight that I've put on since being ill, & regain my lost fitness I'll be better able to cope with the flares.
Well done to everyone, you're all v inspiring ❤️

Sunshineandlaughter · 10/05/2017 16:09

keepon - I could loose anything until I started on iron tablets and vitamin d tablets - have you had a blood test recently to rule out any underlying health issues? Or is it definitely just calorie balance?

Sunshineandlaughter · 10/05/2017 16:09

Couldn't

TVHubbyClaire · 10/05/2017 16:52

Something like that QuimBlush

I'd put money on that BOOP will have every book ever written by the HDs

BitOutOfPractice · 10/05/2017 17:32

Erm yes. I've got them all Blush

The first one is the best place to start. Perhaps unsurprisingly.

Ready I'm sorry you've been feeling so crap but I hope the diagnosis will help you get the help you need to move forward Flowers

I had a sneaky weigh in this morning and I'm down 3 from the weekend. That's 5 lbs down from the 1st. I think the kettlebell training is helping me to choose healthier foods and cutting wheat and sugar is definitely helping my appetite and cravings. Missed my training session yesterday so had to do 1000 swings today so I don't fall behind.
This is a really positive thread this month, glad everyone is doing so well. Yay slenderistas!
