So over the last few months I have been messing around trying to lose weight and getting nowhere - I am actually heavier than ever. As some of you may have seen from another thread I thought that trying something different might help so I went to my first slimming world class yesterday - unfortunately I was not impressed and I don't think it's for me. So I am using a brand new month to motivate me and spending today planning are more positive May and my meals this week. Anyone else out there also struggling but feeling positive about the new month?

Yesterday I tracked all of my food and exercise for the first time in a month. It made a massive difference as I didn't just mindlessly eat biscuits and chocolate. Good luck with day 2 everyone.

Can I join in??

Been trying to lose the baby weight for about a year, I lose a stone but I've just stayed around the same weight since last autumn!! Need to shift 2 and a half stone in total but aiming to lose 1 1/2 by 1st July (holiday time), and the rest by august as I have a family wedding. I technically started my diet last week but need some motivation to get through May!!

Thanks guys xxxxx

Morning! Can I join in? Would love to lose a stone (to start with Smile). Have been picking at chocolate since Easter and have not been watching what I eat at all.

Day 1 - so far a cereal bar & cup of tea Smile

Good luck to all today, let's stay on the track and be reporting in with a pound off tomorrow! Grin

Good luck Dotty.

Day 2 and 5am start with work. It's going to be a long day but I have a packed lunch and I am avoiding snacks on the train.

Always feel a bit ick with an early start so won't eat until later on.

I am planning on walking from the station to the office today - I even brought a rucksack to make this easier ( I usually always taxi it). Small changes.

Morning all
Planning on a cycle ride tonight once kids in bed, last night didn't go well calorie wiseBlush
Hidden the weighing scales in my locker at work today as it's driving me insane having them at home.

Will be interesting to see how much we can lose by end of May.

Oh crap! Started off feeling ok today but am having a bit of a downward spiral (on ADs so hopefully won't be too bad...) but this is a classic time for me to climb into the fridge & the biscuit barrel...
I need to stay strong and focus on being kind to myself rather than self-medicating with food. Any inspiring tips?
Will try a cuppa! x

I've lost 22lb since Feb and another 12lb to go to target. I've been calorie counting, going to the gym 4-6 times a week and eating hardly any carbs only good carbs and more protein. Last bit seems so hard. Wannabe when I want to snack I have water, if desperate I cut some celery up and have with natural peanut butter.

Anyone following any kind of plan?

There was cake at work. I had none. Smug face.

Does anyone know any good home workouts? I know there is a lot online but no chance I'm wading though it. No childcare so gym isn't going to happen and I need to do something other than sit on the couch and stuff my face. Only criteria is that it can't be too bouncy (thanks, DS)

If you've got sky, fit in five is good.

I'm into YouTube ten minute workouts! With two under 5's I don't have time for gym or dvds, I aim to do a 10 min cardio and 10 min toning specific areas twice a day.
imogen I'm following mfp having 1200 / 1300 cals a day although I'm allocated more calories, I want to lose 20lb by July 13th so want it lost fast Smile

What's everyone having for lunch? I'm starving and not brought anything Into work with me - need inspiration!

Had a protein shake for breakfast

Well done for avoiding the cake thighs!!

I worked with a girl who brought in a low fat "nice" yoghurt/mousse type dessert on the days there would be cake in the office, so she didn't feel she would be missing out.

I like to think that when I am slim I can have cake then, so I'm just deferring it! Feels less like I'm missing out Smile

Two choc rice crackers for a snack, I'm usually good at avoiding picking in the day but in the evening I can pick forever, so I am really trying to avoid that. Going to have a fruit salad ready and drink lots of water before the witching hour of temptation sets in!! Grin

Ellie - ready made green salad with ham/cheese on the side?

I'm starting keen - on a fast day - but it's a cheat fast so I can snack on lean protein. Bit of smoked salmon.

I do Joe Wicks workouts- they are about 20 minutes so quite do-able and he does some low impact ones I think.

Morning all. Been to my Personal Trainer this morning and it was hard but worth it. Supposed to be going running this afternoon as well.

Didn't have breakfast but came home and had a 3 egg omelette with salmon, feta and spring onion. Then had a square of dark chocolate.

Not sure what to have for lunch/dinner but need to time food around my run if I do it.

Going to try and stick to under 1300 calories a day this week as have been sliding up towards 1500 a day for the last couple of weeks and need to get that back under control.

star thanks, opted for pre packed chicken and salad bowl I'm still starving Grin
Pmt so craving carbs and sugar! Added a cuppa with one sugar and a small brown roll as going for damage limitation as usually would reach for crisps and a choc bar.

This dieting lark is hard work!

Doing well! let's ignore the fact that I'm only two days in

I seem to be debloating, which has lessened the pain my jeans are putting me through!

Had porridge for breakfast, chicken avocado salad and two fried eggs for lunch, dinner will be tomato and mozzarella salad (easy on the mozza and dressing of course!)

Well done for avoiding the cake thighs!!

Wish I had avoided getting cake thighs.

Mind you, they go nicely with my bread bottom and my biscuit belly Grin.

More seriously, I have lost 2.5 stones last year and want to shift another 5 stones still. Am very greedy and lazy, so an uphill task awaits.

I am eating diet ready meals every night (WW). Not following a real plan though. I know that's not very healthy but I team it with loads of veg. I seem to be incapable of cooking a meal and staying within calorie allowance. Maybe I'll learn that skill later. Chronic overeater here.

Used to be almost underweight until I stopped drinking, got an illness and swapped one addiction for another!

Homemade soup for lunch, & 2 slices of b&b (but did stop at 2!)
Finding sugar hard to avoid - have resisted so far despite feeling down. Serious sugar addiction though!
