So over the last few months I have been messing around trying to lose weight and getting nowhere - I am actually heavier than ever. As some of you may have seen from another thread I thought that trying something different might help so I went to my first slimming world class yesterday - unfortunately I was not impressed and I don't think it's for me. So I am using a brand new month to motivate me and spending today planning are more positive May and my meals this week. Anyone else out there also struggling but feeling positive about the new month?

Meant to say what I weighed 12.2 at 5'7"

Wetcappuccino · 01/05/2017 13:41

I would like to join please. I am 5ft 2in and 10st 5lbs. Not massive but I do not carry it well as I am short and am on medication which bloats me (so I have a terrible big ball face!) Would like to lose 1st over the next 8 weeks. Thinking I will try and do at least 1 mile walk workout 5 days a week (I have an app)/ no snacking/ batch prepare a weeks worth of healthy pasta salad stored in the fridge for lunch each day. Hopefully this thread will keep me accountable...

I'm in! I lost 6 stone 5 years ago which was great, but the weight is creeping back on. I want to lose 1.5 - 2 stone again ideally to get back to a weight I'm happy with.

The only thing that works for me is calorie counting, so I'm back to tracking on MFP.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 01/05/2017 13:53

I weighed.... 15st 3lb and I'm 6 foot tall

Just did my first run of outrun may..... dressed as super girl! Hideous! But it was a superhero fun run DS wanted to do.

I do 16:8 too cry, on top of my other plans :)

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 01/05/2017 13:54

My 'before' pic!

I also entered the London marathon ballot for 2028 this morning!

I've eaten toast/fruit this morning and just had cheese salad with ryvita. I quite like ryvita and could eat the whole pack .... easily

Loubilou09 · 01/05/2017 13:55

Mum you look fantastic!!! Well done you Smile

SharkSkinThing · 01/05/2017 15:04

Wow, have really enjoyed reading these posts, they are all really inspiring!

Mum - I would kill to look like you.

DalaHorse · 01/05/2017 16:21

Hi! Would love to join in.

I put on 5st with first baby and managed to lose it after being stuck there for many years. I finally got back to my pre-preg weight of 9 1/2 st and kept it off for a year quite easily (it seemed) but put half a stone during xmas and have just put on another half stone in the last month Shock so now I'm 10 1/2 stone and I don't feel like I'm in control anymore. I could easily put on another half stone in the next four weeks.

So it's creeping back on and I am really wanting that to stop before it gets worse!

Looking to you ladies for tips and inspiration! Let's do this!! (groan) Grin

I have had a positive first day! Am doing 16:8 and set my 'eating window' from 10.00-6.00. So am now done for the day. We were out at 10.00 so I actually ended up not eating anything until 1.00pm, very unlike me! I had some soup, 2 oatie biscuits and loads of raw carrot, pepper and cucumber with chutney for lunch. Snack was grapes and 2 more oatie biscuits- then a massive roast dinner for dinner but I reckon thats fine seeing as I had only had about 500 calories up to that point. Crumble is in the oven for the family to have dessert soon but its past my eating window now so I shall virtuously resist. Oh and I also did 30min dvd workout. Happy with my first day.

SharkSkinThing · 01/05/2017 18:43

Let's hear it for positive first days! Well done d27!

I am also done for the day, slightly under my allowance so feel OK.

Hope everyone else is having a good one.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 01/05/2017 18:44

Aw thanks ladies! We really enjoyed it, highly recommend

I've come home and cooked a roast dinner. Not too bad as my plate was very veg heavy

Cinema tonight tho. Might have to take my own stuff with me. Usually take cherry tomatoes to snack on!

Fitbit is happy with today's stats

Seav · 01/05/2017 19:18

Need to sort my computer out - can't see your photo MumIs

Well done on good first days coming in!

I am pleased with my first day too - been recording everything on WW site and enjoying what I am eating. Prepped my lunch for tomorrow. My only crudites/apple rule for snacking seems to be working...

Thighsaplenty · 01/05/2017 19:57

Day 1: banana, salmon and poached eggs, 4 rice cakes and fish salad and cous cous for dinner.

Long may it continue.

Ellieboolou27 · 01/05/2017 20:01

Good day for me too, I'm finding the later I eat the less I eat, in the past I'd have breakfast around 8 then be starving by 10am, now I'm eating more of a brunch so allows me more calories in the evening.

Work tomorrow so won't be at home all day to pick.

lamado · 01/05/2017 20:11

I've made it through day 1 (almost). We ate out for lunch, so I saved myself for that, ended up not eating until 2.30, had a pizza (it was 800 calories) and just had some toast for dinner. Managed no snacking (apart from a mouthful of sweet corn when giving the DCs dinner - didn't even want it, just went into auto-pilot).
Well done to everyone who has had a good day.

369thegoosedrankwine · 01/05/2017 21:04

Goodish day here...

Weetabix for breakfast. Home made Chicken salad for lunch with a protein yoghurt. Meat with asparagus and sugar snap peas for dinner and 2 squares of dark chocolate.

Had a good walk too.

WannabeHippyChick · 01/05/2017 21:30

Phew - made it! No snacking, only ate at mealtimes. Was hard. Hadn't really realised how much I graze - and use that to avoid how I'm feeling, I think. I felt quite uncomfortable a few times today when I stopped my automatic reaching for the biscuit tin. Well done to all! x

Lissette · 01/05/2017 21:32

Was good today - you lot are keeping me on the straight and narrow!

pinkieandperkie · 01/05/2017 21:42

I've been good today. I'm in bed already, I've got a headache.

DottyDotAgain · 01/05/2017 21:49

Excellent effort everyone Grin

I'm heading to hospital tomorrow for a shoulder operation - hopefully home the same day but it'll be most of the day without eating - every little helps..! Grin

Although will be in bed burning precisely no calories... Hmm

parklives · 01/05/2017 23:05

Can I join?
Got 2 and a bit stone to lose.
Have got a hypnosis app loaded on my phone which has helped me before.
Am just watching the MH marathon prog on the iPlayer to try and inspire me back into exercise Grin

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 01/05/2017 23:38

dotty according to my Fitbit I burn around 500 calories per night just breathing etc! Was amazed

Well done everyone!

SharkSkinThing · 02/05/2017 05:47

Sorry about your headache, pinky, hope it passes soon.

Dotty - every cloud, eh?! Though hope the op goes OK of course. As mum said, even breathing helps!

I have a day off today so will get a decent swim in. Being off (and at home) is always dangerous for me, so need to keep busy.

Have great Tuesdays everyone.

WannabeHippyChick · 02/05/2017 07:07

Morning all! Day 2, off we go! x
