Small amount to lose but want support?

Just weighed in after a couple of short breaks. I was allowing myself to eat / drink what I wanted and knew it would result in a gain which is fine but just feel I need to get straight on to losing it.

I am 5ft 5, 43 years old and this morning weigh 10st 4.6lbs. I want to lost at least half a stone, ideally 9lbs.

I know there are obviously lots of other threads available but often people have longer term goals on them. I started a "less than a stone" thread before and it was quite busy so thought I'd give it a go again Smile

Weighed myself this morning, 69kg, worse than I thought although period also just started so hopefully some hormonal stuff to blame too. I'd love to get down to 60kg but I'm not sure I can! Intermediate target is 62.5kg or 10 stone, I'd be happy to get to that and stay there.
Am 45 BTW.

Bumblebzz · 08/05/2017 21:24

@ChocolateCake12 Thank You! I was settling into the sofa feeling a bit too full after dinner and your post inspired me to get up and go for a brisk 15min walk. Am now back home and feeling much much better! Plus no sugar cravings hurrah

Orangecake123 · 09/05/2017 09:14

Back from the gym. Breakfast: smooth oats with blueberries, dates and banana.

Current weight 159.3 Lbs or 72.3kg. So from the 26th-9th I've gone down a kilo and lost the weight I gained when I went back home!

@Bumblebzz- It's honestly possible! 60Kg is also my goal weight and I haven't been that weight for 14 years. You will get there if you just keep going. Everything you're doing now is better than if you were doing nothing at all.Celebrate the small victories- I personally find that when I look at the end target I find it too intimidating. Break it down you're 69kg now so aim to get down to 68.5kg and just keep at it. Take photos and measurements too- I'm not going to lie I've been disappointing when the scale does not budge but you can feel and see the difference in your own body and that's what matters. Losing weight slowly is always better than harsher diets that are unsustainable in the long run.

Well done those who have posted losses!

I had a good loss last week but gained a little bit back over the weekend. Hoping to see 10 stone dead on the scales by Friday, which would take me to a 1 stone 8 lbs total loss so far.

I've only had a banana so far today and I am very hungry. Trying to hold on to my late morning mantra that hunger is my friend to keep me going to lunchtime!! Keep reminding myself that it's my own fault for having too much roast beef and lemon tart on Sunday so it's only fair that I should suffer a little bit today to get back on track.

Good luck everyone for a successful week. Only three days till the Friday weigh in so keep going!

Joinourclub · 09/05/2017 11:30

I'm slowly getting used to being hungry. Since being at home with the kids, instead if at work, I'm used to snacking whenever I feel a hunger twinge. But I'm having to get used to the idea that it's ok to be hungry in between meals. I'm just REALLY looking forward to lunch!

PaintingOwls · 09/05/2017 12:18

Well done on the losses!

This morning I was the same, steady weight. I'm a bit disappointed, but I suppose I can't be losing weight every day!

Today is the first time I've worn a dress to work without spanx and I feel so FREE Grin

I can also see some rib now, I'm amazed and delighted that 3kg has had this effect on me.

Bumblebzz · 09/05/2017 13:08

@PaintingOwls 3 kg loss is tremendous, and keeping it off is an ongoing challenge in itself so congratulations!
I had another all nighter last night, with my 8yo this time, some kind of rota virus thing(horrible, she was so unwell), I really dread getting it myself now and am almost afraid to eat. (This is not how I want to lose weight!) Feeling shattered and had to take the day off work.
Hope everyone else is having a better Tuesday, the updates on this thread are a great distraction so keep them coming !

theredjellybean · 09/05/2017 19:31

your poor dd and poor you bumble....rota virus not a great way to lose weight...so hope you dont catch it.
I had a good run today and good food day yesterday..not a single snack passed my lips and even after dinner didnt feel hungry so did not eat cake.
today had quite a big lunch ( well for me) and its now 19:30 and i am still full, or at least not remotely hungry, am at work until 21:00 so will prbably go straight to bed if still not hungry.
didnt weigh today

clumsyduck · 09/05/2017 19:35

Am late to the thread but Can I join please for inspiration !
Been ill off the back of time off / away over Easter has led to me putting about 5/6 lb on and I really want to lose it ASAP !! I lost a couple of stone a good few years ago and have managed to roughly maintain my ideal weight . I always find it harder when it's just a small ish amount to lose Sad

OwlBeBack · 09/05/2017 21:59

I've namechanged since I last posted (I like my privacy) but just wanted to rave about my new hula hoop! I thought I'd change up my exercise routine so I bought a weighted hoop and had great fun today getting to grips with it.

Managed to master it in the end and did 2 x 10 minute workouts.

Feel a bit sore but I'm hoping it's going to help me lose the last 7 pounds and whittle my pesky waist a bit. I've also been really careful with what I'm eating.

Welcome clumsy

And well done to all trying to lose/losing.

OwlinaTree · 09/05/2017 22:38

Can't remember if I have joined this thread, I've been following it all week. I want to lose about a stone, have already lost 2st 10lb. Lost half a lb this week, so have 3lb to go to my next target, 9st 7. I'm doing SW.

Today's food
B oats, berries, yoghurt, banana
L ham and Mushroom omelette, salad
S piece of cooked chicken
T jambalaya with chicken, chorizo, prawns, ham, veg, rice. Berries and yoghurt, small piece of chocolate.

Finding the weight loss is showing now I'm getting closer to target. Can't fit in exercise at the moment as I'm looking after my two young children. Hoping to start something like c25k at some point this year.

eltsihT · 10/05/2017 06:51

I have lost 3lb this week but it's the time of the month that I need chocolate. Been trying really hard not to but have given way every night.

Quite proud of myself though as I have managed to just have one strip of chocolate off a big bar. Dh gets home tonight so hopefully I will have some more will power with some company

Well done! You'll be fine as long as you stay in your calorie limit.

Also try Alpro's new chocolate hazelnut dessert thing, it's really nice and only 100 per pot. Might help with the chocolate cravings!

PaintingOwls · 10/05/2017 08:39

This morning I was still 66.2kg so no loss but also no gain which I guess is good.

My issue is that I've not had much sleep over the last 3 nights and it's really starting to catch up with me. I'm exhausted and craving sugar and yesterday had an impromptu (!) doughnut at work.

Lancelottie · 10/05/2017 10:08

I'll join you on the 'no loss, no gain' bench, Painting (can I have a doughnut please?)

Bumblebzz · 10/05/2017 11:56

Has anyone got a recipe for healthy breakfast/bran type muffins?
After 24h of no eating (tummy bug) I went to Gail's bakery today and bought one of their bran muffins which was nice (could only manage half, huge) but even to me it tasted too sweet so I'd like to try making my own and cut out some/all the sugar. I do like baking but I need some healthy ideas!

Giddyaunt18 · 10/05/2017 13:42

www.fitgirlcode.com/sugar-free-fat-free-banana-breakfast-muffins/

Haven't tried them, I find it easier to have porridge.

Giddyaunt18 · 10/05/2017 13:44

I'm going to weigh tomorrow. Don't feel like any weight has dropped off this week though I have been sticking to no snacking and watching carbs.Fingers crossed.

Bumblebzz · 10/05/2017 13:47

Thanks @Giddy, though I struggle with American measurements (cups etc) so I will try and find a metric version :)
I'm a porridge fanatic myself too, but thinking that baking and freezing these would be handy for emergency snacks.
Speaking of porridge, I've always meant to try making Bircher muesli for a change - esp summer theoretically around the corner - anyone got any Bircher advice? Do I have to grate an apple (yawn)?!

Giddyaunt18 · 10/05/2017 14:54

Oh I love bircher muesli. I used to make it overnight but then someone told me you don't need to. I put some milk in with my oats then grate an apple. You can add any seeds or dried fruit if you want, let it stand, 10 mins(I don't bother) is fine and eat! It is so nice in the summer.

FitbitAddict · 10/05/2017 16:39

bumble I bought a set of measuring cups in Tesco, problem solved!

owlina try Body Coach workouts on YouTube - there's an abs one that's only 5 minutes and the HIIT is only 15 minutes.

I am delighted to report another 1kg loss this week, which brings my weight down to the lowest it's been this year. Only 1.8kg to go until my mid-point target so still hoping I manage that before we go away on the 27th. We are staying with friends this weekend, which won't help. I've lost exactly 4kg since April 18th.

OwlinaTree · 10/05/2017 16:49

Well done Fitbit!

PaintingOwls · 10/05/2017 17:29

That's brilliant, Fitbit!

Bumblebzz · 10/05/2017 19:46

4kg is amazing FitBit, well done!
what are the main changes you've made that you think have made the difference?

FitbitAddict · 10/05/2017 21:12

Thanks all. I'm doing 5:2, with 2 fast days, 4 careful days, and 1 eat-what-I-like day! I haven't changed my exercise routine very much, apart from doing a lot more abs/core work.
