Morning all, I keep forgetting to check in here too ashamed to admit how much I'm eating. Weighed myself this morning and I am 10st 3.5 which is the same as I was last Xmas.

Really need to start logging on MFP again ... I know I'll be loads over my cals but I think if I can just get back into the habit of logging everything, that will shock me into paying attention to how much rubbish I'm eating and hopefully I can then start to eat better. That's the plan anyway!

So far today I've had a very calorific (but yummy!) breakfast of 2 ham and cheese croissants, and a mid morning snack of caramel latte and a wispa chocolate bar Blush

No idea what lunch or dinner will be yet. Perhaps if I start listing all my food on here too, that will help make me more accountable and you can all tell me off if it's not good enough!!

MillieMoodle · 07/01/2018 12:02

Wench same here - I think getting into the habit of listing food might make me realise how much I'm eating and how little fruit and veg there is at the moment. Not been too bad today (by recent standards) - 2 slices of white toast with Nutella for breakfast and 2 cups of tea.

Lunch will be soup for me I think. Sandwiches for the DC.

Not sure about dinner yet. Was meant to be sausages, mash and beans but have just realised the sausages are out of date.

I have a night out with some friends in 3 weeks so I'd like to have lost a few pounds by then so I don't feel too big for all my clothes. Blush

Caramel latte and wispa sound good though!

SmellTheGlove · 10/01/2018 18:25

I'm not doing well!!! I'm fed up and feeling January-ish, and the scales seem to be stuck at 3lbs over my pre Xmas weight and I can't shift it! So I have eaten about a thousand biscuits at work today out of sheer fuck-it-ness. Notso how can you do 1200 cals I can barely manage the 1450 I'm on!!!!!

MillieMoodle · 13/01/2018 08:48

12st Shock Sad as heavy as I was when I started. So annoyed with myself but determined now to get sorted. Am using happy scale and have broken goal down into 25 milestones so fingers crossed. Need to start using MFP and my jawbone again. Have decided to do the 30 day shred 3 x a week (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday) as every day is too much to fit in and I was giving up too easily. Hoping the first stone will be quite easy to get rid of if I cut out the crap eating!

Doc was lovely on Tuesday - she's sent me for a scan, blood test and took some swabs so I feel like things are on the way to getting sorted now. Hospital managed to fit me in for a scan tomorrow! Very impressed!

Hope everyone's doing better than me! I'm on it now though!

lou1221 · 13/01/2018 08:56

Hi, new on this thread, I really need help shifting some weight. I am 2 st over. Tried a detox tea just after Christmas, but it was awful, felt so ill with it, ibs really flared up, and I'm heavier now than before starting it.

lou1221 · 13/01/2018 11:01

Just been for a walk/run with my dog, for just over 2 miles. What is a happy scale? I'm 5'1.5", 11st 3. I really want to get down to 9st 3, what I was when I got married, and before three kids.

MillieMoodle · 13/01/2018 12:30

Hi Lou and welcome Grin we've been going just over a year now with varying results.

Happy scale is a free app that you can log your weight on and it breaks down your goal into much smaller milestones so you can log progress and feel like you've achieved something pretty much every week.

I'm 5'4.75" and 12 stone, I want to get to 9st 7lbs which is what I was pre-kids. I was 12st after I had DS2 16 months ago, managed to get to 11st with minimal effort but have really let things slip since going back to work in September and the weight has piled back on. Have got a holiday at the end of May and would like to have lost 1st 7lbs ish by then.

Notsoskinnyminny · 13/01/2018 14:38

Welcome Lou

Millie glad the doc's started to investigate. Don't envy you having to drink gallons of water for your scan. I was more pleased about that bit when they decided to stop monitoring my cyst - I've had the same one for years and declined surgery 5 years ago as I'd just started a new job and they'd already been monitoring it for a year aftre finding it when scanning to see where my coil was. 3 years later it was still filling up and going down so they accepted my decision to live with it and discharged me- other health probs mean I can't have keyhole surgery and I don't want a full op if I can avoid it, at my age they'd probably want to do a hysterectomy.

Smell the BPCs really fill me up until lunch/tea (we don't eat until 7.30) and I've avoided the breaktime temptations - everyone's bringing in all the biscuits/chocolates they didn't eat over xmas. I didn't have one on Thursday as i got home early and wasn't hungry but by 6pm I was raiding the biscuit tin.

Let's see what the scales bring tomorrow!

Wenchelda · 14/01/2018 08:07

Hi everyone,

Weighed in this morning at 10st 3 so a measly half a pound off since last weekend but to be honest even that is a miracle as I have not been good at all this week. There's still far too much chocolate and nice biscuits hanging around from Christmas and o apparently have zero will power Blush

I also use the Happy Scale app - I like how it breaks it down into smaller goals to aim for, whilst still working towards your overall target.

I'm 5ft 2 (just!) and am aiming for 9st have been since this time last year. Got down to 9st 7 by June but then relaxed far too much over the summer holidays and have piled it back on. Still, I was 11st when we very first started so I guess I should be pleased with where I am currently.

Need to dig out my Fitbit and charge it up and log everything on MFP. Been logging this week but it's depressing how quickly the calories add up! I've got mine set to 1450 ... I struggle enough with that so no way I can do any less. I have to incorporate some treats (flavoured coffee, hot choc at bedtime and maybe a biscuit or something) in there every day otherwise I just cave completely and eat everything in sight!

MillieMoodle · 14/01/2018 10:01

Down to 11st 12lbs today and didn't have any snacks at all yesterday. I did have half a bottle of wine and 2 x JD and Diet Coke though as I met up with a friend last night.

Scan this morning went well, she said womb/ovaries look normal so no concerns there. Just got to wait for smear results and provided they're ok then it must be hormonal issues so at least they're ruling out certain things.

Notso you are doing very well to avoid the treats at work! Do you have any issues caused by the cyst?

Wench you've achieved loads! Far more than me Blush

Had 2 x white toast and butter for breakfast
Lunch will be beans on toast with cheese on top
Dinner will be pork chops, roast potatoes and veg.

Am trying very hard not to snack - difficult as I am absolutely starving! About to make a coffee to try to stave off the hunger - still sticking to decaf and have stopped having sugar in it as well.

I find if I keep busy then I don't really think about food - yesterday I spent 3 hours cleaning and sorting out the bathroom which had become a real state - the time flew by and I didn't even notice being hungry.

Wenchelda · 14/01/2018 11:05

Millie I'm not really doing that well - I may have started in Nov 2016 at 11st but I was 10st 3 by Xmas that year - so I did really well for 2 months then ok for 6months and nothing at all since June last year.

Forgot to list my food for today -

B: 2 x seeded toast with butter, some cherry tomatoes and scrambled egg.
L: not sure yet
D: pork chops, roast potatoes and veg (same as you millie!)

Will try not to snack or at least just have coffee fruit instead

Notsoskinnyminny · 14/01/2018 11:41

Drum roll - 4.5lbs off so back to my pre-xmas weight but like Wench I've slacked since the summer and need to stop yoyoing and accept I can't eat as much as I could 10-15 years ago. My DM royally pissed me off yesterday (she's always been obsessed with her weight and dilutes skimmed milk) any way she asked what I weigh and without any sarcasm said 'well half a stone will look worse on you than me because I'm that much taller' - she's probably 1.5" taller. If I had the bottle I'd have said feck off you old witch its down to you that I've got such a poor relationship with food - she put me on my first diet when I was 7st10 because the weight chart that she still goes by said I should be 7st4!

Millie I always knew when I was ovulating as I'd get a twinge on that side but nothing serious and still get occassional niggles (usually if I've not been to the loo for a few days Blush) The radiographer confirmed its the same cyst everytime.

Food today:
B - BPC
L - last of corgette frittata
D - chicken stirfry with ginger & sweet chilli sauce
S - BPC, 1/2 glass of wine, can of slimline G&T, salted caramel cookie.
All washed down with gallons of water/hot water and lemon and lots of running up and down the stairs when my fitbit lets me know I've not moved enough that hour - I've had 9 out of 9 every day last week except yesterday because I was still in bed at 10am!

MillieMoodle · 14/01/2018 12:48

Notso very well done! Is that back to pre-Christmas weight? Your MIL sounds like hard work! Mine's super-skinny but wouldn't dream of commenting on my weight, although I'm sure she thinks I eat too much I do. OTOH, my mum doesn't hesitate to comment!

I had a digestive biscuit with a cup of coffee earlier but I only had one and I made it last. I'd usually have about 6 Blush And because I wasn't just shovelling them into my mouth I actually really enjoyed it!

Wenchelda · 14/01/2018 13:05

Notso - what's this BPC you keep mentioning?

Notsoskinnyminny · 14/01/2018 17:37

wench it's a bulletproof coffee - black coffee with butter and coconut oil - sounds gross and i was reluctsnt to try it but its really creamy when you whizz it with a stick blender and your lips are lovely and soft. You can make it with raw coconut as well if you want it more coconutty. I add 1 tsp of each to a mug of coffee.

Notsoskinnyminny · 14/01/2018 17:41

And about 140 calories/mug

millie it was my mum who made the comment. MIL was lovely until XH died 15 yrs after we split and now refuses to speak to me Sad

MillieMoodle · 14/01/2018 18:28

Oh sorry Notso - I should have read it properly. Sorry to hear that your MIL doesn't speak to you any more Sad

Wenchelda · 14/01/2018 19:52

Bullet proof coffee sounds awful!! Butter in coffee?? Envy not sure I'd ever be brave enough to try that one!!

MillieMoodle · 15/01/2018 21:49

Not too bad today - cornflakes for breakfast, chicken and salad wrap for lunch, some crackers with butter mid-afternoon, spag Bol and broccoli for dinner. Then a banana and a bit of chocolate for dessert. A hobnob bar later on with a cup of tea. No sugar in coffee. Was down to 11st 11lbs this morning. Trying to keep moving when at home instead of lazing on the sofa. Also charged up my jawbone band ready for step counting and sleep tracking again!

How are you all doing?

Wenchelda · 17/01/2018 11:37

I'm finding it really tedious logging everything on MFP so haven't bothered for the last couple of days.
I charged up my Fitbit and wore it on Monday when I was out and about so was hoping my step count would be decent but it seemed my phone had done some sort of update which meant I'd needed to reconnect my Fitbit to it before using it again. I hadn't realised this so annoyingly none of my steps were recorded Angry

Food wise I've been ok, but not great. I think the main improvement has been not snacking on chocolate bars! I've either not snacked at all, or had fruit instead.

However we had fish and chips from chip shop last night and I'm currently sat in Costa having spent some of my Xmas gift cards on a flavoured latte, bacon roll and choc brownie slice Blush

I need to start exercising properly and regularly but I just find it so bloody boring. I was a gym member for a year a couple of years ago and hated it (very rarely went and so saw no improvement at all) but I am sort of considering joining another one which lets you just pay monthly with no commitment to go for the whole year. I have a friend who is a personal trainer and I know she's dying to get me to the gym to teach me how to use the equipment properly and get my liking it but I don't know whether it's just setting myself up for failure when I really dislike it so much. Trouble is there doesn't seem to be any type of exercise that I do enjoy so maybe I just need to force myself to go! Confused

Notsoskinnyminny · 20/01/2018 14:51

wench that's why I don't go to the gym. When I was shown what to do I'd stick to the equipment I liked - ie didn't hurt/require much effort - and didn't really push myself. I'm better going to a class but they cancelled the ones I went to - the trainer was brilliant and you came out knackered and had to go to her other classes otherwise you'd be dying again the next week but i think they were too high impact and probably attributed to my hip pains although I'm kidding myself I probably just need some core training to sttengthen my back!

Still sticking to the LCHF and drinking gallons of water/hot water with lemon but with the odd biscuit or cracker and a small glass of wine Fri, Sat and Sun and have lost another 2lbs. Went for breakfast while DHs car was being serviced and had an omlette and no toast but I didn't half miss my latte and was dying to pinch some of his toast.

Millie my jawbone died after 6 wks but amazon refunded me so I treated myself to a fitbit and I'm a bit obsessed, everytime it vibrates at 10 to I make an excuse to go on a message and walk to one of the furthest classrooms and back and have managed 9 out of 9 each day ( need to walk 250+ steps each hour between 9-6). Being a saddo i even timed the dog's walk so it overlapped 2 hours Blush
