We can keep on then Notso!

We have our work Xmas party in the middle of December so I'd like to be down to just under 11st by then. Just got to try and keep not snacking and I hope I'll be ok. I'm going to try to be strict from now until just before Xmas, allow myself Xmas week off to eat/drink whatever I want, then back on it in January with the aim of getting to 10st 7lbs by Feb half term. Then if I'm feeling really brave/doing well, target is 10st by Easter, maybe 9st 7lbs by when we go away at end of May. Fingers crossed! It's very optimistic I know Grin

SmellTheGlove · 08/11/2017 18:17

I'm still here and plodding on! Weighed in at my lowest today, though eaten quite a few biscuits at work today so may have sabotaged that! I would like to get under 11 stone which is 2 more pounds. Sounds like nothing but they are coming off sooooo slowly!

MillieMoodle · 13/11/2017 18:10

Well done Smell, glad you're still here.

I have got renewed enthusiasm today - just started up using MFP again today in the hope it'll keep me from snacking. Also going to do 30 day shred every day, starting tonight. Was chatting to a work colleague who is 22 and very health conscious/fit and he is going to ask me every morning whether I have done the 30 minute shred the night before, so I'll be shamed into doing it if nothing else. Let's hope it works!

SmellTheGlove · 13/11/2017 18:56

Oh God, the Shred. You are very brave. I was in the changing rooms at M and S trying on jeans ( actually found a nice pair - miracle) and was interesting seeing myself from all angles. Havent got a decent full length mirror at home ( well I have, but it involves standing pretty much in the laundry basket if I want to see all of myself). I wasn't appalled but I wasn't delighted either. I'm smaller but still very lacking in tone. I need to start exercising properly - I walk miles but that is not doing anything for my flabby stomach or bingo wings!

MillieMoodle · 13/11/2017 19:11

I managed 6 days of it before and definitely toned up a bit. A couple of friends noticed I'd lost weight, which was nice! We've sold our exercise bike so it's all I have left! I am appalled every time I see myself in the mirror. It's horrifying. I don't want to feel horrified anymore!

Wenchelda · 19/11/2017 08:24

Hello everyone .... took me ages to find this thread again as I’ve not been on it for for long but jeez, I need you guys to give me a kick to get me started again.

I’ve just weighed myself and am 10st 0.5 - which is 12lb less than this time last year but still a stone heavier than I’d like to be. I got down to 9.5st by end of June but then a summer of visitors, bbqs, ice cream and general lack of will power took over and I’ve never got back in to.

But I NEED to. I feel “thick” and uncomfortable around my stomach and I definitely need some inches gone from my bum and thighs.

So today I’ve logged into MFP again and set my daily allowance to 1450 (it suggested 1280 but I think that would be too unrealistic at this point - it’s going to be hard enough getting back in to logging all my food).

Going to barge hard boiled eggs and tomatoes for breakfast with a cup of tea.

How’s everyone else getting on?

Notsoskinnyminny · 19/11/2017 14:57

I'm still here, just not had time to log on as I'm snowed under at work and have got 5 members of staff off due to bereavements and 3 milking the sick - saw 1 in the supermarket yesterday and she looked bloody fantastic whereas I look totally knackered!

Tried to low carb last week and was sticking to it and had lost 2.5lbs but notsohelpful DH went and made roasties on Friday because he 'thought I'd like a treat' so I've fallen off that wagon and was back to 9st11 this morning - feck off you stupid man you know I've got 2 conferences coming up and both involve posh black tie dinners and I can barely get into the frock I'm planning to wear - like you wench I'm feeling thick round the middle.

Are you still shredding millie? I got as far as thinking about it ...!

SmellTheGlove · 19/11/2017 18:26

wench try and focus on the fact that you are 12 pounds down from last year. That's a great achievement. My calorie allowance was 1450, I've just put it down to - wait for it! - 1420! Those 30 calories will make all the difference I'm sure Grin. I really can't face going any lower! Notso my DH is a bit like that too - knows that food will cheer me up - but that's what makes me miserable too! Poor sod can't win...

MillieMoodle · 20/11/2017 21:58

hi all!

Notso I did two days of shredding, felt really enthusiastic then couldn't move at all on Wednesday I was so sore. Thursday we were busy, Friday I was out in the evening and then I've had a cold since Saturday so I haven't done it since. Hoping to feel well enough to start it again tomorrow as I really do feel it works.

Need to remember to log my food on mfp as well though!

Glad to see you back wench!

I'm still hanging around the 11st 7lbs mark so only 7lbs off since we started this time last year but once I'm over this cold I'll be on it!

Wenchelda · 26/11/2017 08:34

Morning all. So first weigh in since I re-started and I’ve lost a measly 3/4 of a lb. BUT I’ve been over my calories every day so I wasn’t really expecting any loss. I think just having to log everything on MFP again is making me realise how much crap I’ve got back Into the habit of eating. Hoping week 2 will be better (although we’ve got a family birthday today with lots of cake and treats so think i might as well write today off before I even start Confused)

Notsoskinnyminny · 28/11/2017 07:29

Urgh! What have they done to MN - took ages to find you!
Back to 10st and willpower is non-existent, too many late night end of term events have led to 3 chippy teas already and way too much wine gulped down when I finally get home and it's not even December yet. I'm logging everything on MFP and at the rate I'm going I'll be close to 11st on NY day if it's predictions are right - can someone give me a good kick up the bum?!?!!

It's very hard this time of year. It's already started and it will get worse.. I find it difficult knowing how easily weight goes on after a meal out or too many mince pies. I know it will go again but I still find it demoralizing and want to say 'fuck it' and start mainlining celebrations. I'm still doing ok but I'm starting to feel rather deprived and my willpower really isn't great around Christmas goodies.

MillieMoodle · 30/11/2017 22:16

I am still here. I am doing terribly. Still at 11st 7lbs. Eating far too much. We've all had colds and now the DSs both have strep throat. It has been a house of illness, junk food and no sleep for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully we are over the worst of it now! But it's December tomorrow so I think I've little hope of achieving any weight loss until the new year really. Meh. I'll try...a bit.

Notsoskinnyminny · 04/12/2017 07:39

Still fluctuating between 9st11-13 but finding it hard to pass the staffroom goodies or resist the chippy when theres an evening event despite taking a healthy option. 3 to look forward to this week - pity the parents dont appreciate how much we do compared to the school mine went to.

SmellTheGlove · 05/12/2017 12:44

notso I have come to the conclusion that my food intake on the the days I work will largely be biscuits or similar staff room goodies. I don't take lunch anymore as I end up going over my calories! Not very healthy though. I'm quite pleased that I am no longer class based so won't be getting the usual deluge of chocolate at the end of term! (Actually that's a lie - I'm gutted Grin)

SmellTheGlove · 31/12/2017 08:38

wench notso Millie checking in! How are we all getting on??!!!! Got no NYE plans so I'm officially back on the wagon from now on! Xmas damage not been TOO hideous - weighed in this morning at 11.4 but was 11.2 the day before so hoping that's just my huge lunch at my DBs yesterday. I was just tipping under 11 mid December and my goal is now 10.10. I think that's pretty optimistic but maybe by Easter as the thread title suggests! Hope everyone had a Fab Christmas!

Notsoskinnyminny · 31/12/2017 09:45

Happy (nearly) new year everyone

I'm off for another week and avoiding the scales as I've got trips to York and London booked but I'm feeling podgy and lumpier!

Wenchelda · 31/12/2017 11:38

I haven't even dared get on the scales since Xmas. I need to get back into this (been saying the same since this time last year Blush). Last time I checked, I was just over 10st. I want to be 9st. I was 10st 4 lb last Xmas and have been aiming for 9st ever since so I'm pretty pissed off with myself to be honest Angry

Anyway, new year - new start and all that so will just have to keep trying I guess and find some willpower to resist all the nice food. No plans for tonight ... probably won't even stay awake for new year as dcs will be up at 6am regardless so I'd rather be asleep!!

Happy New Year everyone xx

MillieMoodle · 02/01/2018 18:31

I'm still here! Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and new year. I ate far too much and enjoyed every minute of it!

Weighed in at 11st 11lbs today Shock so am doing dreadfully. Almost as heavy as just after I had DS2, nearly 16 months ago. Aiming to get to 11st by February half term. Today has not gone well, but in my defence the shopping is being delivered tonight so I should have some healthier stuff to snack on from tomorrow.

Also am still having trouble with (TMI alert) bleeding - I don't think all is as it should be following DS2's birth so I have got a docs appointment tomorrow to hopefully see about getting it sorted somehow.

How's everyone doing now we're into the new year?

SmellTheGlove · 03/01/2018 17:13

Hooray everyone is still here! Millie it took me 4 YEARS after DS was born before I started to sort out my weight, so don't feel too bad! It's hard having a baby and not continually reaching for the biscuits! No one should feel bad for not achieving as much as they'd hoped weight Wise - I'm sure we all had our reasons! (Greed, in my case!). I've decided to set My Fitness Pal to 'maintain' for a few days while I get my head around it not being Christmas any more. I didn't have much choice TBH after eating most of my calories by 2pm! (Damn you 'welcome back biscuits' at the staff meeting this morning) good luck all!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 03/01/2018 17:58

Hello all! Can I join?

So current weight is 12 8. I'm 5 foot 8 so it's not too bad, but my BMI is 26.7. I had a baby eight weeks ago and am breastfeeding, so things are a little skewed. I had a section and have found it really hard to shift the weight - with DC1 it came off quite fast.

I'd like to get to 12 stone; anything under that is a bonus. I went down to 11 4 a few months after DC1, but I looked gaunt - it just wasn't a comfortable weight for me. I'm trying to change my habits - I eat a lot of sugar and comfort eat, especially when tired - and with a newborn I am tired all the time! But also mindful of the fact I'm breastfeeding so need to keep the calories up for that.

Basically, I have a gorgeous skirt that's size 12 bought at my skinniest and I really want to fit into it again!

Looking for support and inspiration and this thread seems ideal!

MillieMoodle · 03/01/2018 19:49

Welcome WhoAte! And congratulations on the arrival of your baby! Our thread has been going a while and we are all gradually getting there Christmas slip ups aside but some new motivation is needed for the new year I think.

Smell DS1 is nearly 7 and I'm yet to lose the stone I put on after him. I've found being back at work since September terrible for my weight as it's very sedentary and I ate far too many biscuits throughout December. Not really started to cut back properly yet either, as we're still working our way through the Christmas goodies. Once they're gone in a week or so then I'll start properly!

Notsoskinnyminny · 04/01/2018 14:55

Welcome whoate but please don't be fooled by our title - we're not very successful as we started in October 2016 with a goal of losing a stone by Christmas, then pushed the target back to Easter 17! I nearly got there in the summer but then it all went to pot and I'm now 5lbs heavier than when we started Blush

I lost loads in 3 months when i bf DS despite living on cheese on toast as he was a hungry horror and thought the same would happen with DD but she was never hungry and I spent 8 months with a permanently engorged and leaking boob!

How did you get on at the docs millie - you've not been right for ages so I hope you've asked them to investigate.

smell we're not back until Monday but god knows how I'll get up as I was still asleep at 9.30 this morning.

The plan for next week to low carb but still count calories so bulletproof coffees for breakfast, homemade soup and eggy muffins for lunch (must buy a new liquidiser) and meat and veggies for tea and to drink lots of hot water with lemon instead of coffee at work. I've not been logging my food but will get back onto MFP - just wish it would pull my 'exercise' calories through from my fitbit but maybe that's MFP's plan to keep me to 1200 calories rather than me refreshing it and thinking oh I've got another 300 that must be eaten before bed and falling face first into a packet of biscuits!! Oh and i've told DH I'm giving up Wine after Sunday and am going to get some ready mixed cans of Gin for next weekend so I can reduce/monitor my booze intake - I've drank every night for nearly 3 weeks - the plan is they're 4 for £5 in Asda and once they're gone that's it until the next weekend. But until Monday there's still plenty of stollen, pringles, chocolates ..... mince pies that need sampling!

MillieMoodle · 07/01/2018 10:03

Notso the doctors surgery rang me just before 8am to cancel my appointment! I was gutted as I've waited ages for it. I saw the nurse as was booked for a smear test that I then couldn't have but she has booked me in with the gynae doctor at another surgery (same practice) who I'm seeing on Tuesday morning. I will definitely be asking them to investigate - DS2 is 16months old now so I think I've put up with this nonsense long enough!

How is everyone getting on? I am hoping that we will be through all the Christmas goodies by tomorrow night so will start being a bit more conscious of what I'm eating from then. I've tried to be sensible at work this week but have really struggled to get into it. Going to paint my nails tonight and have a fresh start tomorrow!
