notso 5lbs??!!! That's brilliant, well done you! I think fake tan is a good idea - never had a spray tan are they worth it? I'm quite good with the old legs and arms fake tan but yes maybe stomach tanning is needed for bikini times...

Notsoskinnyminny · 22/07/2017 18:37

smell if I'm organised I just use the dove glow stuff. I have had them but hate when they breakdown and you've still not developed a decent tan or worse when they react with the chlorine in the pool and go patchy and don't veet your legs afterwards or that strips it off as well, better to have a scabby leg after you've nicked yourself with the razor - I'm a really good advert for them aren't I?!

MillieMoodle · 23/07/2017 10:21

Aargh 32 days till we go abroad so no time for messing about now. Have logged into mfp for the first time in over a week. All my holiday clothes are size 12 apart from a couple of pairs of shorts I've bought from primark which say they're a 14 but they're bloody tight!

I ate almost a whole bag of Haribo last night, which was the height of a week of eating crap. No more! I must stop now!

Amazingly am only up to 11st 3lbs, although I feel much bigger.

Hope everyone else is doing better than me!

MillieMoodle · 23/07/2017 10:50

Have just tried on my bikinis and I did not realise how much of a saggy jelly belly I have got Sad even if I lose weight all the saggy skin will still be there. Has anyone got any miracle creams they have used for trying to tighten it up? I have slathered on the stretch mark oil and am hoping for a miracle at the moment!

happypoobum · 23/07/2017 11:03

Hi everyone.

So the good news is I have had a brilliant, fun filled week having lunch with friends and drinks etc.

You can all tell where this is going can't you?

ARRGGGHHHH!!! 11:3 Sad

So cross with myself. I agree with others I will probably have to think about doing some (sob) exercise Angry

Well done to all the losers, at least the spell is working for you.

Millie where are you going? When I was in Portugal I was shocked that all the women were wearing teeny tiny bikinis like they wear in Love Island with their arses hanging out. How would you feel about a gorgeous one piece if you don't want to bear your tummy? Something like this?

MillieMoodle · 23/07/2017 11:09

Happy am glad you had a great week with friends but boo to the lbs, they weren't invited to the party!

We're going to Lanzarote for a week. My old bikinis still fit (just) but they are very tight. If I can lose a few pounds then they hopefully won't look so bad around the hips. I bought a size 14 bikini last week and it looks ok apart from the stomach being on show. I've got a one piece swimsuit already so will definitely be taking that. That swimsuit is gorgeous happy but unfortunately budget doesn't really stretch beyond primark at the moment.

Notsoskinnyminny · 24/07/2017 18:29

Well I survived the week but the weightloss was shortlived, I had 2 small glasses of wine and 2 baked spuds and I've put 2lbs of it back on but 9st 2.5 will do but I was so close to my stone target.

Happy we've just got to find the right balance. I'm prepared to come back from hols back over 9st 7 but life's too short to stop socialising or living on lettuce leaves - I need steak dripping in garlic butter and crusty bread and wine and buttery toast and more wine and a glass of peroni while the steak cooks followed by a slice of cheesecake Grin

SmellTheGlove · 25/07/2017 08:00

Oh FFS I've put on a random overnight pound. From nowhere! Been sticking to cals though haven't been able to do as much walking with a 9 year old in tow. So now I'm back to 11.7 AGAIN. I must secretly really love that weight.

MillieMoodle · 27/07/2017 13:16

Still hanging around at about 11st 2lbs. Still can't give up the biscuits either. Grr!

FireflyGirl · 27/07/2017 14:30

Hello ladies.
waves sheepishly

Do you mind if I re-join you all?

I fell off the thread in March after my Uncle died. It was only supposed to be a brief hiatus, but I suddenly got a new job (as in I interviewed on the Tuesday and started the following Monday!) It's been a bit of a whirlwind since, of settling DS into nursery, and me into working life again. But a good one!

My new job is brilliant - great hours, and they're happy to be flexible on days. I usually have a Thursday off, but DS was ill yesterday so I had yesterday instead and am in today.

However, it has meant a return to bad habits. I have gone back to snacking, buying family sized bags of chocolate and crisps and keeping them in my drawer at work. And my new boss is lovely, but he's a feeder...

I'm struggling to get back into the right mindset as well - it's ridiculous that I found it easier to 'diet' over the entire Christmas period than randomly in the middle of the year!

I've started logging things on MFP again and am gutted because I've a lower starting weight now, so a lower calorie allowance Shock

So, if you will have me back, I have a starting weight now of 10.10. I was just under 11 stone 12.5 when we started back in November, so I am still over a stone lighter despite falling off the wagon.

SmellTheGlove · 27/07/2017 20:56

Welcome back firefly. I'm still here hanging around losing the same few pounds over and over again! Actually that's not true, there is still a downward trend but it's averaging at about a pound a month! Impressive eh? Work can be an evil place for temptation. I'm ok when I'm rushed off my feet but if I'm stuck at my desk all day I have a tendency to graze on whatever I can locate...which is usually chocolate..
Millie I feel your pain. I'm just hanging around too..

MillieMoodle · 28/07/2017 08:08

Welcome back firefly. So sorry to hear about your uncle Flowers congrats on the new job, am glad you are enjoying it!

I thought this week would be easier to eat less as I'd be running round after the DC. Whilst I've not really had snacks in the day, we've had dominos a couple of times this week for dinner, so that isn't going to help me lose weight. Oops.

FireflyGirl · 28/07/2017 12:54

Thanks.

A pound a month is still a loss though, Smell.

I've only ever had Dominos once, I think, Millie. I'm just not that big a fan of pizza - I usually feel hungry again about an hour after eating it so I choose Indian instead.

I'm starting by addressing my snacking. As I said when I first started on the thread last year, we eat really healthy, home cooked meals. It's the constant eating between meals that causes me to gain weight.

I'm trying to cut this down, so that I am genuinely hungry at meal times again.

I've managed to resist so far today. This time of day is usually my downfall - between 11 and 1. I have breakfast when I get to work, but start getting hungry again. Lunch is at 1, but I go for a walk to try and get my steps in. I'm lucky in that I can eat at my desk, so I have lunch after my walk, usually about 2pm. By which time, I'm starving and have usually bought chocolate and crisps on my wander.

Does anyone mind if I start logging my food on here again? I think you guys have mostly stopped, but I've looked back over the last thread when I was on it, and I found it really useful to get an overview of what I was eating when I was losing. It's much more time consuming to do it on MFP.

MillieMoodle · 28/07/2017 13:29

Firefly I have been thinking the same regarding logging my food on here. Written down it looks so much more and it does help me to have more will power. So no issue from me if you do it, I might start again too.

My "chocolate hours" are between 3 and 5pm, I really struggle to say no to snacks then, I think it's a sugar crash as I often get really tired (actually falling-asleep type tired Blush) then as well.

Notsoskinnyminny · 28/07/2017 13:41

Welcome back firefly and waves to everyone else from sunny Croatia. I'm logging my food but laughing at my calorie consumption but God I enjoyed the pizza we had for lunch, washed down with a couple of beers. Off to lie in the sun for a bit Grin

MillieMoodle · 30/07/2017 13:14

Hope you're having a lovely holiday Notso!

Went to buy a dress today for DS2's christening. I did find something to wear, but I felt enormous in the changing room and am really not happy with my size. I look so different to how I used to look Sad I really need to invest in a full size mirror; I think looking at all of me every day would be enough to spur me on to lose more weight.

happypoobum · 31/07/2017 09:55

Welcome back firefly

I am still 11:3 but have family visiting from Forrin for the whole of August. I might not post much as to be honest it is going to be really hard not to load up a fair few pounds.

I will just have to be right on it after they go home and I am back at work. The start of a new academic year is always hellish anyway and I won't have time to eat.

So good luck everyone. Don't spoil your summers by never having an ice cream! I will try to dip in and out but will probably be too ashamed to say what I have eaten and drunk

Bibs2014 · 31/07/2017 23:28

Hello everyone, remember me Grin

I dropped off this thread after my ivf cycle failed. Took a month to lick my wounds then joined the low carb bootcamp threads. Happy to say I've lost half a stone and have another half to lose to get to target! It's lovely food and dead easy and I don't even stuck to it 100% Grin

Will read back now but hope you're all well!

SmellTheGlove · 02/08/2017 07:55

Hi bibs - welcome back! Well done for keeping losing especially when life has been hard. I can't imagine doing low carb myself - mainly because I'm a sugar addict! I don't eat gluten so it's not the bread etc that's the problem but boy do I make up for it with chocolate!
I'm off on holiday tomorrow and been VERY good this week so at least I'm nearly at my stone off. I made the mistake of trying on my bikini yesterday. Dear god. Anyway it is what it is so I shall try to focus on wide variety of shapes and sizes on the beach and not just stare enviously at the skinny women..

Notsoskinnyminny · 02/08/2017 10:35

Smell there are all shapes and sizes here I've stopped worrying about my wobbly bits!

Welcome back bibs I've low carbed in the past but it doesn't work as well after a few times and it's harder to fit into family life.

1 more day to go and hoping it cools a bit - it was 42c yesterday and im.melting!

Hi both!
Jel of your holiday - looks lovely!

happypoobum · 03/08/2017 13:59

Weighed in this morning randomly and am 11:3 which although it was a relief, it has also made me angry at myself because I imagine if I hadn't been drinking my bodyweight in rioja and eating whole packets of hobnobs, I might have lost some weight this week? Angry

Having a lovely summer though Grin

Notsoskinnyminny · 04/08/2017 09:03

Home and put on 10lb Sad and it's bloody freezing. Off to Ikea for breakfast because theres no food in and lasagne planned for dinner because there's always mince in the freezer!

Wenchelda · 04/08/2017 22:41

Notso I am just back from my weeks hol of complete over indulgence and I am DREADING stepping on the scales. I feel so "thick" around my middle, if that makes sense. Very bloated and full. Don't get me wrong, I've very much enjoyed all the eating and drinking but seeing that number on the scales may well make me cry! Hmm
