wench you have a lovely figure! You definitely look slimmer. Really glad you are feeling better. I finally have movement on the scales (downwards thank god!) So that's spurring me on. Although sudden hot weather has sent me into a bit of a panic - my arms will have to come out!

MillieMoodle · 22/05/2017 13:36

Wow wench look look amazing! Definitely can tell there's a difference between last year and now. You've got a lovely figure, be very proud of what you've achieved.

I have taken a "before" picture this morning and am planning to use it as something to motivate me to keep going. Have been good today; weetabix, actimel and tea for breakfast, tomato soup and one slice of wholemeal toast for lunch. No snacks yet and as the weather is lovely and warm I'm haven't really been hungry either.

Just about to do the 30 day shred. Starting from day 1 again as I've actually only done it once Blusham currently at 11st 6lbs which is 8lbs off from when we started but still 2st 6lbs off my absolute goal weight.

MillieMoodle · 22/05/2017 13:37
  • you look not look look!
Notsoskinnyminny · 22/05/2017 17:52

Well done wench you can see your waist in the now pic and you look really toned.

BTW I'm always 2lbs heavier on Sunday than Friday morning but DH likes to cook on Fridays and we always have wine the only difference is I don't have a pudding now and my Saturday bacon butty is on 1 slice of bread instead of 2 but then I get bored and raid the biscuit cupboard - need to find a hobby to replace my weekend visits to the garden centre and wasting a day's calories on a latte and slice of cake.

MillieMoodle · 22/05/2017 22:28

Went to McDonald's for dinner Blush. Have had no snacks all day so MFP is showing me as 200 cals over my limit, but for some reason my UP band hasn't synced with MFP, so it's showing as me doing 0 steps when actually I've done over 11,000.

Tried to do the 30 day shred using the video on you tube but it's disappeared. I ordered the DVD from eBay, so will have to put that on hold til it arrives. Went for a long walk around the village this evening though so at least I got some exercise.

Notsoskinnyminny · 23/05/2017 07:26

millie my steps aren't showing either - maybe it's a cunning plan to make us stick to our calories and not eat our exercise ones! I need to check the mfp app and see if somethings been turned off because my phone did an update yesterday morning and my exercise calories only show when I log food on the web page which is a total pia because you can't scan things

Wenchelda · 24/05/2017 10:40

Morning all... so after feeling really positive a couple of days ago, the events in Manchester have not been good for my anxiety and I've been comfort eating a bit to try and steady my nerves. However scales yesterday morning were still showing 9st 7.75 so going to try and resist the sweet treats to keep it from going up and pretend I haven't just eaten a maple & pecan brioche

Food today :
B- 2 hard boiled eggs, 1 rasher grilled bacon
S - flavoured latte and brioche that I'm not mentioning Wink
L - probably will be some leftover homemade pizza that's in the fridge
D - DH making chicken korma

millie & notso it's annoying that your trackers aren't syncing with MFP to add all your steps ... my Fitbit never did to start with but then all of a sudden it did add them into MFP. Not sure if I was better off before though as now I eat my step calories whereas before I wasn't!

Flashinthepan · 24/05/2017 11:00

Great pics Wenchelda! Very inspiring.

I've made it to 10st 3.5, so 3.5 pounds down, and hoping to hit half a stone lost (10 st) by the first June weigh in.

At least when it's sunny and warm it's easier to eat less/better and move a bit more.

Today:
B: apple
L: noodles and veg
D: lasagne and salad
S: piece of birthday cake

E: 1 mile walk, and hopefully 1.5 mile run. Need to do a Jillian DVD tomorrow, as haven't done it this week so far.

MillieMoodle · 24/05/2017 14:06

Well done everyone for keeping it going this week. Wench I hope your anxiety subsides soon Flowers

Yesterday had weetabix for breakfast, then a sausage sandwich, Diet Coke and galaxy bar for lunch. Dinner was Chinese chicken thighs, southern friend chicken drumsticks from tesco hot counter and bread, plus a choc ice cream cornet. It could have been worse.

Today I've had tea, actimel and 2 pieces of toast with butter. Lunch was two pieces of bread and butter, cottage cheese, cucumber, salad leaves and cherry tomatoes. Dinner will be omelette I think.

Ds1 is not at school today as they sent him home yesterday with a temperature. He seems fine now though, although I am exhausted from running around after him and DS2!

SmellTheGlove · 26/05/2017 07:13

millie amazing how quickly they recover once they aren't at school isn't it! Grin. Official weigh in today and my New York pounds have finally gone! Yay! now just 5lbs to go to my goal. I should probably try for more but I think I have to be realistic! It'll be tough getting there and then maintaining. DS's birthday tomorrow so making cake today (essential testing of mixture/icing), cake eating and birthday take away tomorrow. Will try and minimise damage!

Wenchelda · 26/05/2017 21:38

smell it's also my DS's birthday this weekend so I too have spent the day making and testing cake. In fact I've not been very good all week. Definitely won't have lost anything by my Sunday weigh in ... won't be surprised if I've gained actually Blush

MillieMoodle · 27/05/2017 07:44

Quite glad to hear that I'm not the only one who hasn't been super good this week! My 30 day shred DVD arrived yesterday so I am starting it from tonight. We are out for lunch for MIL's birthday today but I will try to be good, although won't say no to dessert given the chance. Am going to try cutting out bread/pastry etc over the next 30 days too, to see if it helps with bloating. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

MillieMoodle · 27/05/2017 08:21

Aargh. Back up to 11st 7lbs this morning. Blush

Notsoskinnyminny · 27/05/2017 14:13

Sts again this week but not really trying so should be happy I've not gained. I've got a couple of days off next week and 2 lunches planned so will try damage limitation the rest of the week although I've just remembered there'll be a chippy lunch with the cleaners as well!

I'm going to scroll back through mfp to see what I was eating when we started before Xmas because I was losing steadily then.

Enjoy your birthday parties smell and wench - the cake testing is always the best part of the preparation and don't waste time cleaning for guests who, if they care about you, won't notice and spend the time with your DCs - I used to get so stressed I never enjoyed parties.

Wenchelda · 28/05/2017 07:40

Morning all Smile weigh in today at 9st 8.5 - so 1lb down from my "official" weigh in last Sunday, but a slight increase on my midweek weigh in which was 9st 7.75. I know I've not been good this week though so I'm happy with that.

DS's birthday today and so happy to wake up to sunshine ... his party this afternoon is outdoors so I've been praying for no rain.

Have a good day everyone x

MillieMoodle · 28/05/2017 09:18

Official weigh in this morning and I'm 11st 7lbs. Aargh. 88 days til my holiday so I've still got a bit time, but it is running out. Am starting 30 day shred from today, so aiming to have lost at least another 7lbs at the end of 30 days, although Jillian Michaels claims you can lose up to 20lbs, so I'd rather lose that amount!

happypoobum · 28/05/2017 09:59

Sorry haven't posted this week but it's been horribly busy and I knew I was eating badly.

Weighed in - 11:3 Furious with myself Angry

It's mostly alcohol related. I had some "events" and it just spirals into drinking too much = loss of willpower, followed by "hangover eating" the next days day. So cross.

Anyway, Wench you look amazing, I would kill for a defined waist like that. Also, I hope you don't mind me saying, but, like you, I tend to wear more mumsy clothes when bigger. Your style choice was so much cooler in the "slim" picture.

I find when I am bigger I am always buying clothes in the pathetic hope that some fucking thing will make me look less huge. I also tend to wear more floral type things. When I am smaller I spend less and wear more trendy clothes.

Two weeks til Portugal! Wish me luck!

Wenchelda · 28/05/2017 12:37

Lol, happy I still have that pink flowery top from the "before" picture but it will be going to the charity shop asap. I find it so difficult to buy clothes that fit me well (even now I've lost weight, I still seem to be an odd shape) so i often have to forego fashion simply because there's so little choice of things that actually fit. It's a case of "well it fits and looks reasonable so it'll have to do". Hoping that will soon be a thing of the past though. I do hate clothes shopping because my huge bum and thighs always seem to really narrow down the options I have. I really really need to go through my wardrobe and be ruthless with clearing out anything and everything that is mumsy or (now) sack-like but I fear I will have nothing left! Hmm

happypoobum · 28/05/2017 14:01

Wench I had a huge clear out a few weeks ago. Mountains of stuff went to charity shop, although tbh I still have loads left Blush

I decided to stick to a clear pallette of black, white, blue and grey. I also have a beige mac and a camel wool coat. I got rid of everything mumsy and blousy. The only florals left are two summer dresses, everything else went if it had a pattern, unless it was stripes or checks. Absolutely ruthless and it has definitely left me looking far more chic and pulled together.

I can now get into a few of my size 12 clothes again and hope if I can lose another half a stone that will be all the size 12s and then maybe I will start aiming for some of the size 10s.

It was really cathartic to clear it all out.

SmellTheGlove · 29/05/2017 07:41

notso luckily the days of birthday parties seem to be over now - DS is 9 and we are just taking a couple of friends to a theme park. But I used to get so stressed about them, not so much about the mess but DS always found them quite hard socially as he's a sensitive little chap. So I was always worrying that he was okay! Am very annoyed though as I have put on 2 pounds over the weekend even though I didn't really go too crazy! I'm blaming salty pizza. But I do feel pissed off and like I'm never ever going to be able to just relax and have a nice meal out without spending the next bloody week having to try extra hard to make up for it. It's bloody never ending Angry
On the plus side happy and wench it is lovely being able to fit into smaller clothes or getting into old stuff! I think that's my biggest motivator. I love clothes but dread shopping. I went through my entire wardrobe a couple of weeks ago and everything except a couple of smaller size 12s and the 10s fitted Grin. I'm just so bored of watching every bloody thing that I eat!

MillieMoodle · 29/05/2017 08:44

Hope everyone who is having or has had birthdays and/or parties over the weekend has a lovely time.

I have managed to fit into my size 12 jeans but I could hardly breathe and couldn't wear them all day! But my size 14s are a bit big so I need something in between. And the majority of my size 12 clothes don't fit - I need to lose the weight around my middle as I still look pregnant if I don't hold my stomach in Sad

I'm starting to panic a bit that I just don't have the willpower to lose weight before our holiday. I started off so well back in November, lost 7lbs really quickly but have pretty much stayed at that weight since. I've realised DH isn't going to be any help, so I need to do this on my own but I really struggle not to snack when DS2 has had a bad night (and there have been many recently) and we've been terrible with having takeaways recently. I had it so clear in my mind that I was going to be really strict while my parents were away for 2 weeks so they'd notice a difference when they got back. Now they're back and I'm no different at all.

I just need to get into the right mindset and step away from the biscuits as I know I'll feel so much better if I can lose some more weight.

Sorry, that turned into a bit of a pity party!

It's half term this week so I'm hoping that by the time DS1 goes back to school next Monday, I'll have lost a little bit of weight. The 30 day shred starts today. No really, it does!

Notsoskinnyminny · 29/05/2017 09:23

millie I've looked at what I was eating in November compared to now and I can see why I'm not losing so I've planned my meals for next week - no chance this week because it's half term - like smell says I need to find a balance but sadly have no willlpower and want to be able to enjoy time with friends so heyho the Peroni awaits Grin Grin

happypoobum · 29/05/2017 09:24

Millie could you try to only buy biscuits that you don't like much (I am assuming there is a variety the DC will eat but that you don't care for?) I used this strategy when mine were younger.

So I would buy all the disgusting cheesy crisps like quavers and wotsits knowing I would rather die than eat them. Biscuits I would buy those pappy pink panther wafers or anything with marshmallow in, knowing I wouldn't eat it.

If you know you snack can you buy lower cal biscuits and treats? I buy those little packs of go ahead cookies. About ten tiny cookies in a bag but it's about 85 calories and I feel like I had a bag full of biscuits. You may have to hide them from DC though Grin

Happy BH Monday everyone.

MillieMoodle · 29/05/2017 13:53

Notso I'm not losing because the biscuits and crisps have crept back in Blush I am trying to eat more healthily and have made a decent start today. Cornflakes for breakfast which I weighed with the food scales I bought months ago and have hardly used. Lunch was a chicken and bacon Caesar salad from Asda but was only 256 calories which isn't too bad. Have not had any crisps or cakes etc and am feeling more motivated! I have also been to primark and bought some size 12 clothes for the summer so I have no option but to lose weight now (although I did buy a pair of size 14 leggings to keep me going!).

Happy it's a great idea but sadly there are no biscuits I would leave completely untouched Blush. I have stopped buying my favourite biscuits though. I'm a bit better with crisps and can take or leave them; unfortunately recently I have been taking them, but I've found a bit of willpower today so I won't eat what's there. I did find some frozen yoghurt lollies in Asda which have 74 calories so I've bought some of those to have when DH and DS1 are tucking into proper ice cream.

I think I'm a bit all or nothing - finding a balance hasn't been working for me really as I kid myself that just one more biscuit is fine and then feel crappy for having no willpower. So I think I will have to forgo the sweet things altogether, if only for the next 30 days to see if it makes a difference.

MillieMoodle · 29/05/2017 22:10

Just done 30 day shred, day 1. Can't...move...

But feeling pleased with myself for doing it! Grin
