Need to lose just over a stone. Anyone like to join me?

I'm just within the healthy weight range, but would love to lose 15lbs as that is where I felt best. Ideally I'd like to lose 1 lb per week, and be at my goal weight by Summer as we are planning a beachieve holiday - but mainly I just want to feel and look better as I haven't been taking care of myself lately. I will weigh myself every Sunday.
Today's weight: 9st4lbs (130lbs)
Goal weight: 8st3lbs (115lbs)
Lbs to go: 15

Anyone like to join?

I seem to be losing weight now. Gone from 11 stone to 10.11 and I feel slimmer already. I've booked a hot yoga class for Friday evening.

Flashinthepan · 17/05/2017 10:38

Well done Faron. It's great when the scales finally start to shift!

Today:

Hi everyone. Could I join in? I've been stuck at 9 and a half stone for about a year and really best at 8 and a half (am 5'3" and a relatively small build). I have 9 weeks until my summer holiday and would like to be at target weight then. I think it's a case of less carb and less snacking and more protein. Am going to be trying counting macros.

PugwallsSummer · 18/05/2017 17:15

Welcome ninja. We have the same target weight! I'm 9st 3 at the minute (started at 11st 6 in Jan after having DD2). I'm shorter than you at 5ft, but 8 and a half stone is a weight I can maintain (was 7and a half when I got married but too much hard work to keep it up!).

9 weeks is a decent amount of time to lose a stone. Good luck!

NanoNinja · 18/05/2017 19:08

Thanks Pugwalls! You've lost loads - well done. It's really hard with a newborn too. Which is why I've waited until DC2 is over two Hmm

Flashinthepan · 19/05/2017 10:51

Hello Ninja! Nice to have someone else joining us.

Yesterday I had a steak salad, but was lazy with exercise and didn't run or walk, just JM.

Today:
B: two pieces of toast
L: rocket, tomato, beetroot and feta salad
D: not sure
S: banana and a lavender shortbread

E: 2 mile run

So I maintained again this week, so it seems that VLC is the way forward for me now unfortunately.

I'm hypothyroid and I'm going to try to see the doctor next week, as with the food i'm eating and the small quantities, I would be expecting a steady loss each week - even just a pound or a half pound. I've had some other symptoms too so suspect that my medication might need increasing - we'll see.

Have been bad today as on a downer from my weigh in (stupidly, as it has made me feel even worse, not better!!). Highlights include an ice cream, a sausage roll and 2 cappuccinos. Hmm

Flashinthepan · 21/05/2017 09:23

Sorry to hear you're feeling bad pug and to hear you think your thyroid is not under control. Have you tried something like the 5:2, so you can have a couple of VVLC days but then eat healthily but normally the other days. Perhaps longer term that would nicer? Also, now you are getting closer to your goal it will probably be a lot harder to lose, so don't feel bad about maintaining.

I'm down 1.5 pounds to 10st3.5. Makes me feel really good about get to 10st and first half stone lost by the first June weigh in.

Got my grandads funeral tomorrow, so sure I'll have a few unhealthy things, but whatever I need to get through the day.

PugwallsSummer · 21/05/2017 21:28

That's a good idea flash, I think I'll give it a go - 24/7 VLC is so joyless!

Today has been no better, have indulged in some seriously nice meals and snacks. Trying not to regret it 🙈

Back on it tomorrow. 9st here I come 👍

NanoNinja · 22/05/2017 15:33

Hi, thanks for the welcome, Flash. I have not had the best weekend. Somehow managed to put on two kilos (4lb)?! Am hoping it's just due to totm.

But I did track well this weekend and confirmed my problem as not enough protein (I don't eat meat or dairy), too much snacking and too much sugar. Nothing I didn't know, but really brought it home!

Hope you have all started the week well, and Flowers to pugs.

PugwallsSummer · 23/05/2017 11:42

Hope your Grandad was given a good send off flash and that you coped ok with the day. 💐

Don't let the gain put you off ninja - as you said it's probably water retention / totm.

I've done a complete u-turn and decided to go back to just eating healthy - 3 healthy meals and snacks. It'll take longer but I think I'll be able to stick to it more successfully - have been really fed up with the tiny portions and lack of carbs!

Flashinthepan · 24/05/2017 10:45

Thanks Pug. It was a beautiful day, albeit very sad.

Yesterday was a work colleagues birthday and DH's birthday so had two meals out! But managed not to overeat and also went for a run. Back on it today.

Today:
B: none (too full!)
L: veg and noodles
D: lasagne and salad
S: apple; will have some of DHs birthday cake which I am making today!

E: 1 mile walk, possibly will go for a short run.

I'm finding it so much easier to say no to things, get back on the bandwagon. I think I've turned a corner.

Sounds like a good plan Pug. As you've already managed to lose a good amount of weight, it makes sense to do the last bit in a long-term way, as then you can be more certain it won't go back on!

Flashinthepan · 25/05/2017 09:55

Another lovely sunny day!

Today:
B: banana
L: 3 egg omelette with mushrooms, feta and dill
D: pesto crusted salmon with vegetables and potatoes
S: yoghurt; cherry toms; celery

E: 2 mile run

Must drink lots of water!!

PugwallsSummer · 25/05/2017 12:29

Gorgeous weather! A bit of sunshine is great for motivation! ☀️

Yesterday:

B: weetabix with honey, 2 satsumas
S: apple
L: chicken salad sandwich on whole meal bread, a nectarine
D: barbecued chicken flatbread with lots of salad, Greek yoghurt for pudding

W: 1.5 liters
E: school run

A bit of a repetitive lunch/ dinner combination but both healthy, filling and delicious.

PugwallsSummer · 25/05/2017 17:24

Today:

B: weetabix with honey, bowl of berries
S: banana
L: whole meal toast with sugar free PB, a nectarine
S: packet of pea snacks
D: pasta with chili pesto and chorizo. (Portion was rather large and I sprinkled grated cheese on top Blush)

W: 1.5 liters
E: none - DD2 I'll after vaccinations so pretty much carried her around the house most of the day.

Flashinthepan · 26/05/2017 09:28

Today:
B: banana and yoghurt
L: homemade lasagne
D: halloumi salad with courgette fritters
S: banana; cucumber

E: 2 mile walk and JM ripped in 30.

Birthday indulgences on tuesday for DH and work colleague threw me off a bit but think I have shed the extra, so hoping to have maintained from last week.

PugwallsSummer · 26/05/2017 12:17

Dropped a pound - now 9st2. Happy with that!

Flashinthepan · 27/05/2017 22:11

Well done pug!
I was flickering between 10 st 3 and 10 st 4 this morning so I have maintained. But very happy as had a relatively indulgent day on tuesday and not done as much exercise this week. Hoping for a loss next week!

PugwallsSummer · 29/05/2017 16:26

Indulging a bit this weekend, back on the wagon tomorrow...

sweetkitty · 29/05/2017 17:11

Hi can I join the party?

I'm 5ft3 and 91/2 stone I have a tiny build so all my weight is round my hips, thighs and bum. I was about 9 stone which was ok ish but was doing a uni course and comfort eating.

I have fibromyalgia and a really sore pelvis which prevents me doing any high intensity exercise. I'm trying to walk the dog for over an hour every day.

So is it back to MFP or 5:2 for me? Mybiver eating is chocolate cravings.

Flashinthepan · 29/05/2017 23:00

Welcome on board sweetkitty and sorry to hear about your health problems.

I read frequently that weight loss is about 80 per cent diet and 20 per cent exercise so I'm sure the dog walking will take care of the exercise part. Good luck!

I'm a hips bum and thigh person too so I feel your pain!

Flashinthepan · 30/05/2017 08:58

Still 10st 4 despite bank holiday treats, although was pretty restrained in terms of portion size, and avoided breakfast a couple of times in favour of treats later in the day!

Today:
B: banana and yoghurt
L: small portion of homemade lasagne
D: homemade vegetable pizzas
S: grapes; banana

E: 2 mile walk; JM Ripped in 30.
