On the way to losing a stone with Codswallop: progress to date

Here's anew thread for Coddy's recruits.

The old thread is here

For the record, I started out (May 19) at 11 stone 2 and am now 10 and a half stone A total loss of 9 pounds

Coddy's potential wrath has been inspirational! Plus of course the support of the rest of you (although the thread does go quiet at times).

Coddy you haven't inspired me one bit lately. I am still fat pig. Can you pls be a bit scarier?

codswallop · 04/07/2004 19:14

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!

there.

Sonnet · 05/07/2004 12:58

How was the indian Janz?
Still 9st 1 lb today!

wobblyknicks · 05/07/2004 13:08

Can't remember what I started at but it was far fatter than I am now. Currently 10st5 - need to get to 9st8 and just can't get the last few pounds shifted. Was starting to get a really flat stomach but literally overnight its gone all fat and bloaty (unfortunately nearing time of the month).

Coddy - it started fantastically but now it's all going Pete Tong!!!

10 stone 9 this morning Up another pound But my period started today, so maybe that's why, and once the effects of that are over, I'll be pleasantly suprised by a drop in my weight again.

The curry was nice - let dh have the lion's share of the popadoms and the pakora and only had about half a portion of curry. Had water with the meal with only a sip of dh's beer, and then a WEE glass of wine at his sister's (who had been babysitting) to celebrate.

Did have a SMALL slice of M&S lemon drizzle cake though - more for ds' sake, as he likes "Happy to you" cakes (as he calls them) so I had gone out yesterday and bought one. (Normally I owuld make my own cakes, but I didn't have the time, PLUS it would have been FAR too much temptation!) Ds loved putting the candles on the cake and then carrying it through to dh (watched carefully by me!) singing "Happy Birthday to you"

janz can i smell excuses?

JanZ · 05/07/2004 16:42

... absolutely

But today all I've had is my mini shredded wheats with a banana and some strawberries.

And in my defence, yesterday I DID hold back - normally I would have had MUCH more cake, a couple of more glasses of wine/or (as I was driving) some beer with my meal and I would have pigged out on the popadoms and pakora. Didn't have LOOK at the dessert menu!

And I had't had much for lunch - just some strawberries and a pack of chicken tika slices (130 calories).

So over the day, I don't think I did too badly!

Sonnet · 06/07/2004 16:09

Hopefully it won't happen like that Coddy...

Calling all Coddys weightloss gang to motivate/Bully me...
Got 4 weeks till go on holiday and 7lbs to loose
need to do 2lbs per week.
I'm currently loosing about 1 to 2 lbs BUT still have wine once or twice a week (approx 1 bottle a week I guess) also occasional biscuits, choclate etc. Am also not execising
SO I NEED TO:
run 3 to 4 times per week
NO WINE
NO CHOC/BISCUITS/CRISPS
do you think that will improve my current 1 to 2 lbs a week to 2lbs a week plus?????

Sonnet · 06/07/2004 16:15

just worked out I've only lost 3lbs over the last fortnight!!
That will never never do.....
Should I take each week as a new start and aim to loose 2lbs rather than keep seeing 1/2 a stone float before my eyes??

codswallop · 06/07/2004 16:17

run three times a week maybe
ot tak e kids swiming and fit a few lengths in?

Sonnet · 06/07/2004 16:24

If I'm honest - I kone what to do
Knock the wine on the head and run run run....
Just make sure I do it....

wobblyknicks · 06/07/2004 16:37

sonnet - I badly needed motivation last night (when the crisps were calling) and I've got one tip for you - go and find beetroot (the mumsnetter, not the vegetable). She's got a special way with words - today I can't get the words "lardy arse" out of my head and that is DEFINITELY stopping me eating!! Atm I'm filling up with loads of sugar free jelly, which is nowhere near as tasty as choccie biccies and doughnuts but should hopefully make me slim!!!

codswallop · 06/07/2004 16:40

flounce!

wobblyknicks · 06/07/2004 16:41

Why are you flouncing coddy??

Sonnet · 06/07/2004 18:15

wk - lol - "lardy arse" - will repeat mantra.
WANT CHOCOLATE - CANTEEN CALLING - am eating plums!!!
Coddy - why the flounce? - did I say something....

Sonnet · 06/07/2004 18:16

WHY are you flouncing????? Need you to bully me into running tonight!

wobblyknicks · 06/07/2004 18:18

I think it was my praise of beetroot that made her flounce - even though everyone knows she's still the queen of the diet club!!!

I can't get "lardy arse" out of my head now and it comes back every time I look at food. It's definitely worth adopting as a mantra - especially if you hate the word "lardy" as much as I do!!! It instantly makes me think I'm going to turn out like a cross between a fat Jerry Springer guest and Johnny Vegas if I eat just one more thing!!!

Thomcat · 06/07/2004 18:21

So can I join?
Please.
Please tell me though that this is the only club I have to join, that I don't have to eat cabbage all the time and that I can still drink LOADS of alcohol.

wobblyknicks · 06/07/2004 18:22

tc - if you have to join another club, eat cabbage or lay off alcohol then I should definitely have been kicked off long ago!!!

Thomcat · 06/07/2004 18:36

So does that mean I can join then wk? What do I have to do, is there some initiation that I have to go through. Do I have to just loose a stone by eating less. OMG - panic set in then, I'll never do it, maybe this isn't such a good idea!!!!!!!
