Here's anew thread for Coddy's recruits.

The old thread is here

For the record, I started out (May 19) at 11 stone 2 and am now 10 and a half stone A total loss of 9 pounds

Coddy's potential wrath has been inspirational! Plus of course the support of the rest of you (although the thread does go quiet at times).

Jasper - which 10k? I really should sign up for one - it might get me motivated to start running again.

Wasn't very good yesterday - cracked in the afternoon and went and got a Mars Bar . But was good in the evening - helped by being out at my Pilates class. Was going to stop to get some more sweets, but was running late on the way there and managed to resist on the way back. Just had an omelette for supper (and only ONE of dh's chips), so at least that was healthy.

Today is a new day. Got my raisins but no packed lunch, so I'll have to get something healthy in town at lunchtime - and resist the sandwich trolley !

Toronto on May 1st!

Jasper!

What about one during the winter. I think there's one in Girvan in December!

Still not managing to get focussed on this new round of weight loss. Had a Snickers bar yesterday from the lunch trolley

But today I've got a packed lunch (tomato, rocket, feta and pasta salad), so I hope that will keep the munchies away!

PB it's so hard to maintain resolve, isn't it? Went out for dinner tonight - had a big dessert which was not even all that nice.
However I did run four miles BEFORE BREAKFAST! For the first time in my life I might add.

Prettybird · 07/09/2004 10:11

You're putting me to shame Jasper. Had a day off yesterday for ds' first day at nursery and was going to go for a run in my "free" afternoon - but I did I - NO . Do have an excuse thought - some strange canadians arrived at our door and said that the eldest of them's mother (he was in his 80s) had been brought up in our house in the early 1900s and could they have a look around. But have to admit that I probably wouldn't have gone out anyway.

But did some some clothes from the Limited Collection in M&S in Braehead yesterday that will REQUIRE me to lose some weght to look their best! I think that's the motivation I need!

Was only 10 st 6 this morning, despite an indulgent weekend, so feeling good.

I'm STILL 9st13 - so not putting anymore on but I can't shift that last tiny bit!!! Any tips???

Prettybird · 07/09/2004 10:24

Cut out the alcohol for a week? (or for as long as you can cope without it! )

Change lunch to a big healthy salad for a fortnight and see if that makes a difference.

Double the amount of water you are drinking and see if that fills you up so you don't want to snack.

Fill the fridge full of ready cut carrot sticks and radishes and eat those every time you get an attack of the munchies

Do the Sandi Toksvig diet suggestion - serve yourself out a standard portion of whatever you were planning to eat and then only eat half of it.

Are any of those suggestions helpful?

wobblyknicks · 07/09/2004 10:29

They would be PB but am hardly touching any alcohol as it is, and only get to eat the odd bit when not running after dd (that's how I lost the weight so far) so don't have a lot to cut out there unless I go onto starvation!!! Am drinking tonnes of water atm so don't feel hungry much anyway. Think I must be destined to be 9st13 now!!!

roisin · 07/09/2004 10:46

I'm in the same boat wobblyknicks. I lost loads at first, but then seem to have got stuck. I'm 5'5" and currently weigh 9:11. In the last two months I have only lost 3 lb, despite being pretty strict for most of the time. Curiously enough I seem to have lost a lot of inches in that time - but only top half, not bottom half! If I could get 4 lb off my bum and thighs I'd be happy.

wobblyknicks · 07/09/2004 10:49

They do say go by inches not weight because if you build up muscle that will weigh more than the fat did but I don't seem to be building up any new muscle and would love to be able to say I'd reached the 9:8 I set out for.

wobblyknicks · 07/09/2004 10:49

Oh and I would LOVE to lose some of my thighs - they don't seem to have lost anything at all!!!

Prettybird · 07/09/2004 10:56

Wobblynicks - it might just be a plateau and in a few weeks time, you will suddenly start moving again.

The only other thing I can think of is to try a 24 hour fast: soemtimes that can kick start things. But I don't know if your own personal circumstances could "cope" with that - especially if you are needing to chase after dd.

I've done it occasionally in the past when I've been on the "red eye" flight to London and then in meetings all day. Somehow that makes it easier to cope with, as I don't feel like eating so early and then don't really have time or the opportunity - and then I can just sleep on the plane on the way back to Glasgow. Makes me feel very virtuous at least!

Prettybird · 07/09/2004 10:57

And Wobblyncks - I also need to lose off my thighs - that's where my new clothes "could look better"!

Prettybird · 07/09/2004 10:58

Wobblyknicks even
