Feb has been a bit rubbish so far - I need to get my act together!!!
The trick for me is to meal plan and have the right food in the house. Aldi shop in the morning - wish me luck - weigh in on monday

Thanks pony, but I'm afraid the two pieces of chocolate were two bars of chocolate! Don't know what happened, I just fell into an old habit.
Balls.

lastqueenofscotland · 03/02/2017 20:38

Arsey try not to worry! As long as you jump back on it I'm sure it will be fine.

Archduke · 03/02/2017 20:55

Queen you poor old thing, hope you have sufficient painkillers and something good to watch on the telly.

Arsey well 2 bars is a but sub-optimum for losing weight but you know the deal, it's never a disaster unless you keep going. Don't beat yourself up about it, be mindful of how you feel - ie the guilt outweighing the pleasure. And file in under 'minor blip'. Then chuck all the remaining choc in the bin. Also remember not being able to have choc is only temporary. I imagine that I must have eaten about 5 tonnes of it in my lifetime and will eat much more in the future, so a few months going without is really not that difficult.

Interesting to hear your reasons for putting the weight on, moving in with someone and being happy is definitely a big reason to increase our girth. My lovely little daughter had an awful horse riding accident mid last year and spent a long time in hospital. To start with I couldn't eat a thing, it was all so frightening and traumatic and the when she got better and came home I seemed to eat everything and put on about a stone and a half. Now she's heaps better and I don't need armour on me I can shed the weight Grin.

ponygirlcurtis · 03/02/2017 21:48

Draw a line Arsey, as Arch says. We have all fallen off the wagon at various points, but it's the getting back on that's key.

Sorry to hear about your DD's accident Arch, glad she is OK now. I think that's a really understandable reason for putting weight on. The thought of it being armour makes perfect sense - I wonder if there is another kind of armour to use instead? Am musing because I know I probably use food like that, and I need a bit of armour at the moment!

KikisDeliveryService · 03/02/2017 22:03

august that's a familiar tale to me too. I spent 2 years losing 50lbs, got complacent when I didn't gain again and I think my eating levels must have crept back up, even though I retained all my good healthy habits, and then 'suddenly' 15 months later I was 15lbs heavier again.

This is my second day in a row of low calorie 16:8, 2 smalls meals each day and my Fitbit is happy with me. Right now I am very hungry, and exhausted. And actually I'm going to allow myself a small congratulations to myself because I could easily have not stuck to it today.

I will be gutted if there's no loss tomorrow though!

KikisDeliveryService · 03/02/2017 22:05

Poor lastqueen 😕 wisdom teeth op is very painful. I know I should recommend it on a diet thread but I would be diving into the ice cream right now.

KikisDeliveryService · 03/02/2017 22:06

*shouldnt

ArseyTussle · 03/02/2017 22:15

Thanks for the momentary hand hold there. Sub optimum indeed, Arch. Blush

That sounds scary about your daughter, glad she's sorted now.

lastqueenofscotland · 03/02/2017 22:23

Kiki I can literally only do liquids now even jelly seems to hurt Sad

However this could be a successful diet plan... I could package the "wisdom tooth diet" and make my millions?!

BitOutOfPractice · 03/02/2017 22:33

Oh last you poor poor thing. I hope you have done good pain relief.

Archie that sounds like scary times. Sometimes life just takes over doesn't it.

After being scared to death for two weeks I have had a big fat all clear today. I have drunk fizz in the pub, eaten delicious food and I'm having a glass of red on the sofa. I shall be back on it tomorrow. But tonight I am in a fug of happiness

Evening all!

lastqueen hope the teeth let you get a good night's sleep. (Sleeping properly has become a bit of an obsession since baby!)

I've had two really good days, everything in mfp, two runs and dinners from the Madeline Shaw book. Which is surprisingly good.

How often do you all weigh yourselves? I always thought you only should weigh in once a week, but if you have a dehydrated/bloaty day I'm worried that might skew things and make think I'm doing much worse/better than I ought to be?

Naughtysausage · 03/02/2017 22:37

And yay bit! Congratulations!

Softpebbles · 03/02/2017 22:44

Yay great news Boop. X

Squiffy01 · 03/02/2017 22:53

boop so good to hear all clear! Enjoy the celebrations!

Another not great day of eating. Have had a plain wrap and half a brownie for dinner (had the other half for lunch). Sleeping at work tonight. I am knackered. Haven't had a chance to go to the gym, will hopefully get there over the weekend.

Archduke · 03/02/2017 23:52

Oh BOOP that's such wonderful news. You must be ecstatic. Congratulations what a relief for you and your loved ones xxxx

Sausage I weigh myself A LOT. Almost everyday, first thing in the morning, starkers, after a wee or poo, but before my shower. Apols if you didn't require such a clear picture Grin. I tend to ignore the ups and just mark the downs on my weight loss app. I am pretty hardcore on the food and exercise front but would take a lot of notice if I was getting a run of increases, I mostly have a bit of an increase now and again amongst a steady downward trajectory. I find the App really helpful, it gives me a lovely graph and I do like a nice graph.

Archduke · 03/02/2017 23:58

Ponygirl I'm sorry your in a space where you feel you need armour too. Maybe getting fitter and thinking about your muscles being your armour might help? I definitely feel hugely better being fitter rather than just fatter but we just have to do what we need to do sometimes I think. Last year was so awful I just needed to be able to put one foot in front of the other to keep going and to keep my family going, and food helped. Kindness to yourself is the thing to keep in your head though, however though things are always do the kindest thing for yourself.

MountainDweller · 03/02/2017 23:58

BOOP so glad you had good news!

Well like the last couple of months I am logging in with good intentions... apologies for falling off the posting wagon.

I have lost a total of 4 kilos since the last week of October... trouble is I have been stuck around the same weight for WEEKS (though I think I gained a little over Christmas and lost it again, was hiding from the scales at that point!

Queen I lost lots on the post-wisdom-teeth out diet too. Sympathies, it's miserable. I recommend mashed potatoes to up your carb intake a bit.

Anyway I have new resolve... less carbs, less sugar and less snacking (am counting calories on MFP), will see if that will kick start the loss again for me.

My lodger made wonderful soup the other day... lentil and veg, fat free (just chuck it all in the pan). I put it into MFP and it came out at 84 calls a portion! Was delighted. There's more soup in my future!

Only trouble is it's my birthday on the 7th (gives hairspray and lastqueen a hard stare - will also be twice your age!) and multiple celebrations are planned! Also I have chronic pain, and a sprained ankle (fell in the drafted snow) and long term dodgy hip are making it even harder to exercise than usual (ironically because they are really the reason I need to lose weight).

Ah well, onwards and upwards. Under my goal today so going to bed positive.

Congrats to those who are storming ahead with their losses.

Archduke · 03/02/2017 23:59

however though things

though = tough

Honestly my typos are abysmal, my ancient typing teacher would be appalled.

ArseyTussle · 04/02/2017 06:59

Morning all.

How are you Queen, did you get any sleep?

Brilliant news BOOP!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 04/02/2017 07:24

Morning!

Boop I am so glad to hear that everything is ok, that must be such a relief!

I weighed myself this morning and have lost another 1.5lbs. So in total I have lost 7.5lbs, and I have another 5.5 to go until I reach the top of my target weight range. Don't think I will manage that in February as my weight loss seems to have slowed right down, but I will aim for a pound a week. Off to body pump later, hopefully that will help!

Archduke · 04/02/2017 07:33

Jesus, I'm bloody knackered.

5km Parkrun Star

6km walk with dd and dogs Star

4km walk with dds, dog and friends Star

Shopping, cleaning, cooking, driving, washing, blah blah blah

POOPED

BitOutOfPractice · 04/02/2017 07:35

Morning. Could you all type quietly please? My head is a little fluffy.

Hello mountain. I'll scoooch up next to you. Us oldies need to stick together Grin

Spurious you are doing really well. Good for you.

Pony you sound a bit flat. Are you ok? How is your DC? Any better?

By some miracle if the goddess Linda I am 0.5lb down again this morning. So I am now only 2:5lbs heavier than before I went away.

Flowers and Brewfor you boop, brilliant news, what a relief.

Antipodean archie that's a long list of achievements to read and 7.30am! Bloody good work.

I haven't weighed in yet as I'm still very much in bed but I'm fantasising about a stew I'm planning to make today!

In advance of scale disappointment I'm going to list a couple of NSVs that occurred to me yesterday

  1. Belt is being pulled through more and waist is more defined
  2. There are definitely stomach muscles emerging from under the decreasing squishy layer
  3. Arms look quite nice and less bingowingy
