Age:45
Starting weight: 19st 10lbs on 01/01/17
Goal: 9st 10lbs
Plan: low carb, high fat

Well, it's the biggest I've ever been. Feel horrid, but determined to make this the last year of being a fat person. I''m going to diet the shit out of this mess I'm in! I've see threads to lose 100lbs, but not 140. If anyone else is in the same scary boat and fancies friendly, non-judgmental journey sharing, please say hello and share away.

Morning ladies,
Hope you are all well.
Welcome Fat girl and Sparkle and we'll done so far.
Sorry Pippa f having hard time, hope it will improve soon.
10stone great exercise routine, well done!!! I might join a gym when I reach my next target - would do myself more harm now than good so for the moment I will stick to my walking which seems to be working well so far...
I went away to visit my sister and parents for 5days but managed to stick to my diet ( and everyone noticed I lost weigh -mainly on my stomach- which was great...) so only weighed in today.
Off to visit my friend in Boston tonight for nearly a week -that will be more interesting. Might have to pop to supermarket to buy what I need as my diet is quite different to what they eat...At least I should be able to do my walking when there (even though my walking shoes just fell apart and no time/money to replace just now...)
My weight this morning 126.9kg
Staring weight 138.5kg (13 March)
Week 1 -2.5kg
Week 2 -1.2kg
Week 3 - 3.7kg
Week 4 +0.1kg
Week 5 -1.8kg
Week 6 -2.5kg
Next goal is to get under BMI 35 which would be 113 kg....

CrazyDuchess · 25/04/2017 07:13

Gosh SWLondon what are you doing to get such fantastic losses?

10stonestolose · 25/04/2017 07:55

Duchess oh I wish I could sell you my exercise mojo! It feels so unreal I only hope it lasts and it's not just another of my fads. I want to be a real gym bunny Easter Smile
I think that's the hardest thing when we have so much to lose, how long it bloody takes. I have those moments too as it feels like it comes off so slowly. But that time will pass anyway and we don't still want to be big at the end of it, so we just have to KOKO. I don't think anyone else will have any idea how hard it is for us, I'm so grateful to have you lot!

Nanny thanks, the walking is all I could manage too for the first couple of months, it's still great exercise. You're moving more and that's the main thing. You have some incredible losses there, you're doing brilliantly. Congrats on the 2.5kgs this week, my brain doesn't work in kilos, but that's over 5lbs, amazing!

Top tip. Work on the basis of 2lb a week and work out how many weeks until your interim goal.
You may not hit it on time, but it does make it seem more achievable.
For example - my date for my interim goal of 16 st (wedding weight) is August 26.
As I say, I may not hit it on that date, but August isn't a million miles away which makes it seem more achievable.

MalmseyWhine · 25/04/2017 10:52

Hi all. I've just caught up on your progresses, well done to everyone. To those that are struggling, it seems to me that by still posting your motivation is still there. It won't take much to grab that motivation and convert it to positive eating habits.

I've had a busy few weeks and have been up and down on my weigh lost journey. I started a new job last week that will involve long hours and a long commute so it's really important that I'm organised with meal planning. On the plus side I'm hitting 15000 steps easily on my 4 work days, and I've started C25k again. Am only on week 3 so far but my aim is to do a park run eventually. I also need to work out how to fit in some core/toning exercise.

I've gained a couple of pounds since my lowest weigh in but bmi is still under 40. My job contract is for 20 weeks. Can I lose 20 lbs in 20 weeks? I need to set some new interim goals.

Koko everyone.

PippaFawcett · 25/04/2017 13:50

Congrats on the new job, Malmsey. Are you enjoying it so far?

MalmseyWhine · 25/04/2017 14:55

Thanks Pippa. Yes, I love it. I worked there last year in a different role so I'm thrilled to back with a promotion!

PippaFawcett · 25/04/2017 15:14

That is great! I hope you can still stick to your exercise regime with the commute added in.

WildImaginings · 25/04/2017 16:25

Huge well done to everyone!

10stones, I need some of your exercise mojo!

Well, weigh in was yesterday and I'd lost 0.5lb. Not brilliant, but I was expecting a gain so I'm happy with any loss tbh. I've stuck to plan all week but I've got my period, plus they've put me on 3 weeks of night shifts in work Hmm Both mess with my weight, so I'll take any loss.

1.5lb target this week, which will get me my 3.5 stone award.

Lotsawobblybits · 26/04/2017 13:40

Thanks 10stones a bit yet to go for 5 stones, but have had some lovely compliments. I think that i need to be hypnotized Grin.

Congrats Flowers on the new job Malmsey 20lbs sounds doable especially with all that walking.

You are doing fab swlondon, just converted your Kgs into St and our starting weights are almost exactly the same, that is great going in a quite a short time.

Hope you are having a good week Pippa.

Wild A loss is a loss you are going forwards & making progress. Well Done!

After a rubbish weekend food wise I have been a 'dieting demon' this week- you watch those scales not move. I have started to keep a track of measurements the last couple of weeks & seeing those go down has been quite a motivator this week.

Managed a little jog when I took the DDog out this morning, bless her she looked really Confused and kept stopping looking back at me.

Hesdeadjim · 26/04/2017 16:02

Can I join?

Start weight on 1st Jan: 19st 1lb
Current weight: 16st 11lbs Grin

I'm 5ft 5 Blush

I've been obese all my life and I'm getting married in just under a year. I was dreading the wedding because i didnt want people to see me so big, so I've got cracking on getting rid :)

FatGirlWithChocolate · 26/04/2017 16:08

PippaFawcett · 27/04/2017 14:57

OhHolyFuck, you and me both! I'm eating crisps and lurking at this very moment!

WildImaginings · 27/04/2017 17:48

Fatgirlwithchocolate- same! I'm going on an all inclusive holiday for two weeks in about three weeks time.

I'm also fully expecting to put on a stone, so trying to get some really good losses in before I go.

Fingers crossed for the both of us!

FatGirlWithChocolate · 28/04/2017 08:13

Glad it's not just me Wild! I could pretend I will be good, but I know all my pious intentions will evaporate when I hit that buffet! going anywhere nice? Today I stepped on the scales and made it into the 12 stones range (only just mind, but hey! it counts! any victory!)..never thought I would really see that day..must be at least 20 years since I last did xx

FatGirlWithChocolate · 28/04/2017 10:15

I'm slightly on edge though because I am trying to leave the clothes thing til the last minute, so I can lose as much as possible..but at the same time I need to sort them out into clothes that fit at the start of the buffet and clothes that fit after 1 or 2 weeks of buffet :P..but at the same time I want it settled NOW.

Dowser · 28/04/2017 10:19

Well done 10 stones. You've worked hard for a huge weight loss.

Fitbits are amazing aren't they. As Richie Howey on his weight loss Facebook page says..they are a real game changer and he's so right.

I can't believe that I'm losing and not denying myself a treat or three.

I don't get weighed or measured. I just go by the Fitbit and mfp as long as I eat under the calories burned I must be losing.
Days I don't feel so good my burn is quite low so I make doubly sure I eat only 1200 instead of 1300.

I've bought my son one. Only £35 on gumtree.

He's an almost 6 footer yet he was trying to exist on 1500 cals despite going to the gym etc.

I told him he must eat too low or he'll get metabolic adaptation. I hope now he's got his Fitbit he'll listen. Weighing 16 and half stone he should be able to eat 2000 cals and still lose weight. You only have to eat 500 less a day, so he may actually be able to eat more.

I was in dotty p's the other day and she must have been a good sales person because she asked what I was looking for, I said a size 16.
She said you're not a 16. That was me in a bulky coat and two cardis ( N Yorks has been bloody freezing this week)

So I bought 14s . Too cold to try them on, they were shutting anyway. Tried them on last night and they fitted lovely , bit of growing room actually.
Plus dil said I'd lost weight. Hadn't seen her for a few weeks.

Thing is I wouldn't have known if it hadn't been for Fitbit. Beg borrow or steal O'Neil you can. I would have had a great, thought I'd routines everything then had a few more.
With Fitbit and mfp that's not happening

My son was pooh-pooing me..but something must have gone through because he told dil he was thinking of getting one of those gadgets mam wears.
He's overjoyed with his gift. I just want him slimmer and healthier.
Good luck with your journey everyone. It's lovely getting into a size smaller than you think you are.
Just that last stubborn half stone for me :-( Or ;-)

Dowser · 28/04/2017 10:20

O'Neil?

One ffs!

Dowser · 28/04/2017 10:22

Omg!

I would have had a treat, thought I'd ruined the diet and had a few more.

And really ruined it.

Sorry about that.

Dowser · 28/04/2017 10:34

Fat girl first of all congratulations.
It's your holiday, a lovely part of your life so enjoy yourself.

Just track your ( guesstimated) calories on mfp

I went on holiday for three weeks. Enjoyed my food. Made good choices , had treats and I think I lost .

Just increase your burn every day.
Walking is a real good exercise and very under rated and something that's easy to fit into a holiday.

Desserts are loaded with too many cals but still have some. If it's a buffet you can maybe have a try if a couple without breaking the bank

My sil posted the dessert menu of Bahamas breeze , they are in Florida. Each one was at least 950 cals. That was 3/4 of my total daily calories.

Good job I'm gluten and lactose intolerant! All were creamy or Cakey

We were staying in an apartment and I found some lactose free creme caramel so I had one of those when I felt deprived.
I avoided the magnums...and avoided having a bad tummy to boot!

But ye, enjoy and try to increase your daily burn. Even jogging on the spot while you're waiting for everyone to catch up all counts.

Just think you could have a lovely holiday and come back one or two pounds lighter...and if you aren't don't panic as Richie says a lot will be water. Especially if you've increased your carb quite dramatically. Heat and sunshine has you bloating up.
I did.
A couple of days later I felt much leaner.

Lotsawobblybits · 28/04/2017 12:07

Have continued my 'Diet Demon' regime this week, just bank holiday weekend to navigate now.

Welcome Hesdeadjim My good friend always says that the wedding diet is the best one you will ever do! Smile

Buffets can be so tempting Fatgirl The amount you have lost is really inspiring. I hope you have a lovely time and make sure you treat yourself.

Fairfax Well done 5.5lb is fab, that's best part of 1/2 a stone.

Dowser I agree with the MFP, I religiously use the Samsung version and I truly don't believe I could have done it with out. I was listening to a guy on R4, Life Scientific I think, talking about Salt causing water retention, but also Carbs. For every 1g of Carbs we retain 2.7g water, which could soon add up over a day.

Today my diet theme tune is.... "I said a hip, hop, the hippie, the hippie, to the hip hip-hop, and you don't stop the rock" .....you can't stop this dieting machine Grin

WildImaginings · 28/04/2017 18:17

Fatgirlwithchocolate that's absolutely amazing! Well done Flowers

I'm going to Kefalonia. I absolutely love Greek food, and the food in our hotel is gorgeous (went there two years ago). There are also so many amazing restaurants around that I want to go back to.

I also can't resist a buffet! Savoury food is my weakness- I can walk past the deserts, but not the cheese and bread. Are you going anywhere nice?

I'm the same with the clothes!

I'd originally said that I wanted to lose 3 stones before holiday. I got my 3 stone award a few weeks ago. I've decided my new pre holiday target is 16 stones 13lb, which would be 4 stone award. That way, even if I put on a stone on holiday (very likely) I'll still come back on an overall 3 stone loss.

CrazyDuchess · 29/04/2017 10:52

Dowser- just what I needed to hear... I am going to buy a fitbit!

I have just booked my summer holidays- end of August... so now I have something to look forward to, it'll be so much more better to be 10-15kg litter by then...
