10stonestolose · 03/01/2017 12:18

Age:45
Starting weight: 19st 10lbs on 01/01/17
Goal: 9st 10lbs
Plan: low carb, high fat

Well, it's the biggest I've ever been. Feel horrid, but determined to make this the last year of being a fat person. I''m going to diet the shit out of this mess I'm in! I've see threads to lose 100lbs, but not 140. If anyone else is in the same scary boat and fancies friendly, non-judgmental journey sharing, please say hello and share away.

Holy at least the temptation is gone now the egg is gone. And I hope you enjoyed it. We only live once and it is Easter after all. Could you remind me which diet are you on?

OhHolyFuck · 17/04/2017 11:44

Wasn't even mine, was the kids nanny! I'm doing slimming world

Forwardsforwards · 17/04/2017 12:06

hi Everyone! Just been taking some kid-free time and putting it to good use reading this thread.

From simple old me, you are all wonderful and very brave. Brave to try and brave to koko.

I am joining you too if that's ok. Ive conquered most of my other demons so far, but the weight.. Nah. I think I use it as a wall. Keep people away.

Situation: 3 kids, work FT, exDH on the scene and takes kids 4/14. I want to build in a routine that enables short bursts, I think, and plan to do low carb, high fat.

Not weighed yet or set goals but going to work on that later today and report back.

If its ok with you lot I will follow 10stones interim goals approach...

Back later!

WildImaginings · 17/04/2017 14:09

Hi everyone, hope you're all getting on ok!

Well, weigh in is at 5 today. I've been out for 2 all you can eat cooked breakfasts this week, but I tried to keep it to one small plate of cooked and a couple of bits from the continental.
Then had a big lamb dinner yesterday!

I've been trying to do sp days to make up for the excess of those two meals, so minimal carbs and lots of speed food and protein. I've surprised myself and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would- I'm usually very reliant on my free pasta and rice allowance!

I'm hoping for a pound off this week, but to be honest I'd be happy with a maintain. Will update you all after weigh in!

Monsterpage · 17/04/2017 17:01

SWLondonNanny sorry you're in a similar boat. It stinks doesn't it. I am going to stick to a low carb good fats approx 1000 cals a day diet and see what happens. Not sure what to expect but am sad that I am sabotaging my relationships by eating c**p and then because of my weight refusing to see people. I have decided it has to stop now.
Just want to recognise my face in the mirror again.

WildImaginings · 18/04/2017 12:16

Lost 4lb Shock

The sp days obviously worked! I need to lose 2lb more and I'll get my 3.5 stone award.

However, I'm starting a week of night shifts tonight, and they always mess with my body, which can affect my weight loss. Also, people are always coming around asking if I want anything from the 24hr McDonald's down the road Hmm

We'll see...

10stonestolose · 18/04/2017 15:09

Hi all, just back from a few days away so didn't weigh in until this morning (a disappointing 1lb off, but lots of eating out and TOTM, so I shouldn't be too disappointed). At work so will have to catch up on everyone's posts later. Hope you're all ok!

Oh and here are my stats...

Amazing 10stones!

Lotsawobblybits · 18/04/2017 20:57

Checking in after the weekend. Hope everyone had a nice few days. Easter Smile

Well done 10stones your achievements are great. Congratulations to everyone else who has lost too!Grin

Into the 30's for BMI this week, pleased with that as started off in the high 40's Blush. Sunday was tricky- over did it a bit but fasted Monday & today to pull it back a bit.

Another week of KOKO-ing unless some sort of weigh loss miracle happensSmile

NarcsBegone · 18/04/2017 22:02

Hi all, Easter is bloody hard work! I've gained 2lbs since I last posted which to be honest is far less than I should have Blush. Easter eggs are hidden from sight and being rationed for DS... this year is the first year I haven't scoffed all his eggs and replaced so far so I'm seeing that as a big change!

Having DS at home really throws things out for me but then I've been really crap for ages so it's really just down to my lack of will power. Some habits have totally changed though like no longer eating after dinner and after getting the munchies from some of the meds I have to take.

I think everyone is doing so well and at one of the toughest times of the year too.

WildImaginings · 19/04/2017 17:25

Ordered some bathers as I'm going on holiday at the end of May. Ordered a size 18 and hoped for the best.

Well, they arrived today...and they fit!
Small steps, but so pleased.

On my last holiday I was wearing size 20 bathers which were tight everywhere apart from the bust Hmm

CrazyDuchess · 19/04/2017 18:34

Well done wild I can't wait to drop down to a size 18 all across! Grin

OhHolyFuck · 19/04/2017 21:49

This is not going well. That's an understatement, it's going fucking awfully badly
I'm a billion syns over my limit, I've just thrown myself off the wagon after last weeks disappointment
Right, 3 good days and see if I can pull it back a bit

Help me?!

WildImaginings · 19/04/2017 23:19

You can do it ohholy.

Try and stick to 5 syns a day for the 3 days you have left. Have you thought about doing an sp day or 2? I found they really helped me pull things back.

I've been there, I know how shit it is, but you can do it Flowers

10stonestolose · 20/04/2017 11:15

It's been lovely catching up on all of your threads...good and bad. Easter was a difficult one for lots of us by the sounds of it!

Thank you for all your words of encouragement, I makes such a difference to know you lot have my back.

A wonderful warm welcome for our two newbies, monster and forwards. Rest assured we've all been exactly where you are and understand how it feels to be so big in a world in love with being thin.

Holy, bless you, how are you doing? Is it time to try something different for a while to shake things up a bit? A different diet? Or a different variation of the one you're on? Sometimes we get in a rut with a particular plan and it gets so boring, it's difficult not to cheat. Good luck sorting it, you'll be fine as long as you KOKO.

I tried a very scary Bodypump class last night at the gym. Weights and lots of lunges, squats and crunches. It was seriously tough for me and my legs felt like jelly on this morning's run. I'm by far the biggest person in every class and I hate seeing myself in the full wall of mirrors at the front of the studio, but I know I just have to keep going and I WILL get there. I definitely feel happier getting back into my routine after the holidays, I still mostly stuck to plan and exercised, but just felt a bit out of control surrounded by chocolate and sweets and I wanted to cheat a million times.

I am almost a third of the way through this now and it feels like it's taking forever. But hell or high water, we have all got to just keep going. We can do it!!! This time next year Rodney.....Grin

OhHolyFuck · 20/04/2017 14:12

I've been at training today with lots of different people all across the different locations we have refuges in and as it seems to be when it's all woman, conversation turned to diets and food

I am vowing to lose weight just so every bloody woman and her dog doesn't feel like commenting on my body, diet or eating and putting it up for public debate

Does everyone else get this?

CrazyDuchess · 20/04/2017 14:48

Well I have manged a new low of 122.8kg this morning which I am crazy chuffed about..... then totally skipped my sensible chicken salad lunch for a McChicken sandwich and large fries (with water) Blush eurgh I feel horrible now!

PippaFawcett · 20/04/2017 15:02

Well I'm back after a terrible few weeks. I dread to think how much of the 10lbs I have lost have gone back on again. I'm still not back on plan. I don't know how to get my head back in the game, does anyone have any tips?

CrazyDuchess · 20/04/2017 15:55

Just one meal at a time -
try to make good choices not like me
draw a line under bad days.
Lots of water.
MFP

10stonestolose · 20/04/2017 16:28

Holy oh yes! A woman I used to work with used to do that, it's so bloody annoying. I eventually shut her up by saying 'it's a good job that I'm so gorgeous I don't need to worry about it!' A totally twattish thing to say and obviously I'm not that horribly conceited, but it definitely worked. I think it drove her mad to think such a large woman dare be so confident. She was someone who hated it when I lost all my weight (about 6 years ago) the last time, I bet she was delighted when she saw I was big again Confused

Duchess well done on your loss, sounds like it's a touch of the old self-sabotage. I think our brains naturally tell us we deserve a food reward when we've had a really good loss. Small mercy recognition: at least you chose the water and not the milkshake Wink

Pippa welcome back! I think after a break it's best to do something new for a fresh start. Maybe try MFP or a food diary to pull you back in? Or change the diet you were doing? You could try jumping on the scales every day until you know you're back in control. Planning food is the thing that keeps me on track the most, so having healthy snacks and meals ready, giving yourself no other options but to et them. You can do it!

OP posts:
PippaFawcett · 20/04/2017 17:09

I daren't even face the scales yet to be honest. I just feel like the mountain is too big to climb at the moment, so your advice CrazyDuchess, is probably wise.

I even turned down a great work opportunity today because it involved giving a presentation at a conference and I don't want to stand there in front of people at the moment. Sad Perhaps this is rock bottom for me.

WildImaginings · 20/04/2017 17:40

Pippa, if it is rock bottom, then the only way is up Flowers

Lotsawobblybits · 20/04/2017 17:53

Ugh- diet bores need to piss right off- normally it is more a reflection of their problems rather anything to do with you. I secret dieted for a while as I didn't want the comments, advice or utter bullshit TBH. I hate that women's bodies are public property & more annoying that women do this to each other!

Holy Flowers it can be really hard and utterly disheartening - but please don't let it get you down. I second what 10stones said about shaking it up a bit, would that help? or (apologies for sounding like a self help cliche cow) but could you right down some promises to yourself and keep them with you on a card. It doesn't matter how many times you fall off the wagon- you can always get back on!

Duchess Meh- one chicken meal, you can pull that back no problem, a whole week! You have done really well.

Pippa I feel for you, Flowers, maybe this is your motivator? The dread of the weigh in is awful- but it may not be as bad as you think!

10stone Bodypump sounds amazing- if I squatted I may never get back up again! Grin I think Easter has been hard for everyone- so much temptation.

This time I'm going to do it- looking at a half year target & treat to work towards. Just such a slog, but every day is a day nearer!

CrazyDuchess · 20/04/2017 18:29

if I squatted I may never get back up again!

Grin you'd have to call an ambulance if I attempted a squat!

Pippa- you can do this. If you are not ready to jump on the scales that's fine, I think I get more pleasure from my clothes getting looser than the numbers! Each meal is an opportunity for a new start... and don't think too much about it - that's when it seems like the journey ahead is too big and too hard. Focus on today :)
