Age:45
Starting weight: 19st 10lbs on 01/01/17
Goal: 9st 10lbs
Plan: low carb, high fat

Well, it's the biggest I've ever been. Feel horrid, but determined to make this the last year of being a fat person. I''m going to diet the shit out of this mess I'm in! I've see threads to lose 100lbs, but not 140. If anyone else is in the same scary boat and fancies friendly, non-judgmental journey sharing, please say hello and share away.

Thanks Pippa! Those pesky mid-week weigh ins are dangerous aren't they?! Our weight fluctuates so much throughout the week. I'm sure you'll soon drop that pound before your next weigh in if you stick at it. Good luck!

The running is amazing! You must be really chuffed with yourself 10.
I weighed despite saying I wouldn't and only gained 1lb since last weigh in so I'm pretty happy with that as thought it would be A LOT more. Eating out is really difficult for me, I just don't seem to be able to make healthy choices. I'm shuffling around my fast days like fury and added an extra one in this week but I'm out several times again next week.

10stonestolose · 22/03/2017 15:26

Thanks Narcs, I am really pleased. Unfortunately, I think the problem is that most restaurant food just isn't that healthy, so it's really difficult to find healthy choices without eating salad ad nauseam. We still have to live whilst we're on this journey and that includes celebrating. Some months are easier than others on that front. Adding the extra fast Day should really help, but don't beat yourself up if weight loss slows a bit whilst your social calendar is so busy. You're doing so well, just keep going and it will settle down.

Eating out is a minefield. Although I notice that my slim friends tend to eat what they want when out but presumably reign it in the rest of the time to compensate.

NarcsBegone · 22/03/2017 15:55

Thanks 10. I don't often have to eat out as I'm not as social these days but there's a lot going on at the moment.
When everyone around you is just eating as they like it's really hard to have just salad as you say.
I've noticed that my slim friends all eat as they please and don't seem to watch it at all, although one friend always leaves food on her plate where I would normally eat the lot. Having said that I have found a couple of times recently that I'm uncomfortably full which is a new feeling for me as I don't really ever feel full.

10stonestolose · 22/03/2017 17:04

Pippa and Narcs, your slim friends sound just like mine. They do seem to have a blow out when eating out, but I think their portions are smaller and they then compensate by eating less for the next few days.

I want to eventually be able to think like a naturally slim person and just regulate myself without thinking about it. I do know quite a few slim women who are obsessed with their weight though, so only manage to stay very slim through dieting constantly. I hope I can be more like the naturally slim folk, even if it takes some counselling to achieve it.

I've got a meal out too next week, my bosses leaving/moving sideways event, no idea where we're going yet which is making me a bit edgy, I'd like to see the menu first so I could 'plan'

Lotsawobblybits · 24/03/2017 13:56

Checking in before the weekend, hope everyone has had a good week. Thanks for the Whoops 10Stones Grin

Not done much extra exercise this week, eating all on plan though.Fingers crossed we get some good time out on Saturday in the good weather.

I am circumnavigating eating out for Mothers Day, my Dsis & I are cooking for DM & DG, so I can have a bit of control. Eating out and staying on track is really hard.

I agree about slim friends as well- mine don't really hold back when out, but I know that they skip meals and compensate on other days, they don't always clear their plates either. I'm more like the cookie monster.

Is it too late to join in? I want to loose about 5 stone.

FairfaxAikman · 25/03/2017 08:59

Whoops. It's under 9stone. Maths is not my strong subject

NarcsBegone · 25/03/2017 22:56

Just place marking. Smile

10stonestolose · 26/03/2017 07:37

Theworld no absolutely not too late to join us, welcome along! How much do you have to lose and what plan are you following?

Fairfax well done on the 1.5lb loss, its great when you see the number you have to lose reducing too.

Happy Mother's Day to us all!!

I'm out for lunch today and I survived an Italian meal out on Friday night by ordering Steak, Salad and Aioli. I went with three slim friends who all worry about their weight, which is incredible considering they're all under 10 or 11 stones! I ran 3 times this week and now getting over 4K in half an hour, so I'll keep pushing to get to the 5k.

4lbs loss for me this morning, getting me into the 16s. Delighted with that and about time I had a bigger loss. Im also ticking off the 'size 18 in most shops' goal as I've been doing a bit of clothes shopping this week and fitting in any 18 I've tried on. I wore a new Next size 18 dress for my Friday Night out, which I loved, but still ended up wearing tights as I decided my knees still looked too chunky. I'll be happier when the weight starts coming off my legs! The running should help, surely?! Stats to follow...

10 you are bloody amazing! 4lbs!! Well done you.

Has been a strange week battling a cough/cold type thing and period but still managed a loss. I think what's noticeable for me is going out for meals I pick my meals a little more wisely and don't feel obliged to clear the plate or finish the bottle
So went out for lunch yesterday and had pan grilled salmon mmmm was divine!

So here are my stats! Would love to drop bigger numbers but I think once exercise becomes a permanent feature in my life the weight will come off a bit faster. This week was a 0.6kg drop - I'll take it Grin

Week 5
Current stats
Starting weight: 132kg
Current weight: 125.6kg
Total lost: 6.4kg
Goal weight : 80kg

I've never stuck with a weight loss plan for so long before... so another minor achievement.

I hope next week to increase or actually do some exercise and see 124kg on the scales.

Good luck everyone else!!

CrazyDuchess · 26/03/2017 08:16

I should 6.4kg = my first stone off! Woooohoooooo

10stonestolose · 26/03/2017 08:32

Thanks Duchess and well done on your loss too! Great news that this is the longest you've stuck to a diet plan, I think that's a good omen and you'll do it this time!

Theworldisfullofidiots · 26/03/2017 09:12

I have 5 stone to loose (would like 6 but haven't been that weight since I was a teenager). Started in September and have lost a stone and a half slowly. Don't mind slow.
Not doing anything particularly apart from generally healthy eating. We've given up almost all sugar for lent apart from Sundays. Think I will start to keep a good diary. Worst thing is wine (don't drink often mainly at weekends) as we I have a couple of glasses it makes me snacking.
Starting weight as of now 16.2

BowiesBlueEye · 26/03/2017 12:51

You guys are amazing.

I stayed the same this week Sad. Poor planning and poor choices.

Really need to get into the exercise, it all went horribly wrong last week.

I've measured and portioned up food into ziplock bags for dinners through the week and I'm now the owner of Davina's DVD set.

I can't seem to get the focus I need.

CrazyDuchess · 26/03/2017 17:35

Bowies I am rally struggling with the exercise element, I have the tools.... just no motivation :(

I know I need to do something.... I think I have been sedentary so long that I don't have the confidence and hate feeling sweaty

OhHolyFuck · 26/03/2017 19:17

Bowie and Duchess, I'm the same.
Cancelled my pt sessions as I just can't afford them but it does mean that I'm doing nothing now and can't motivate myself to do anything either

BowiesBlueEye · 26/03/2017 19:21

I'm going to make a huge effort this week. I've been reading lots of posts on MFP community to try and get motivated.

I have a new cookbook too, the Tom Kerridge one. Beautiful recipes but some may tip me over calorie wise unless I use substitutes.

BowiesBlueEye · 26/03/2017 19:24

It's disgusting really, I have everything I need here. Weights, bars, hand weights, dvd's, fitness blender through the TV, mats, very snazzy new trainers, comfy sports bra, bicycle, Fitbit, huge amounts of woodland and open space and plenty of room indoors.

Just need to actually get off my arse. Smile

CrazyDuchess · 26/03/2017 19:49

Ditto - I have a cross trainer, exercise bike, dvds space... eurgh! I know I CAN do it - I just don't WANT to!

OhHoly- did you learn anything from the PT or was it more someone to push you?

OhHolyFuck · 26/03/2017 20:00

I learned I don't like exercise duchess! It was more someone to make me do it, and do it for an hour rather than 3 minutes and then going to the cafe for a cake
I probably could replicate what we did in sessions but I just hate hate hate exercise and can find pretty much any reason not to do it

The only thing I've enjoyed doing was Zumba but then ex-p left and now I can't get to classes
