10 stones, 140 lbs, a whole bloody person to lose!! Anyone else?

10stonestolose · 03/01/2017 12:18

Age:45
Starting weight: 19st 10lbs on 01/01/17
Goal: 9st 10lbs
Plan: low carb, high fat

Well, it's the biggest I've ever been. Feel horrid, but determined to make this the last year of being a fat person. I''m going to diet the shit out of this mess I'm in! I've see threads to lose 100lbs, but not 140. If anyone else is in the same scary boat and fancies friendly, non-judgmental journey sharing, please say hello and share away.

Thanks guys, yesterday went really well so just hoping to carry on with that, thinking meatballs and cauliflower rice for dinner, might try making an ikea style sauce too

pippa haha I know exactly what you mean! The first couple of weeks I thought my sw class was a bit like a cult and I resolved to lose weight as soon as I could just to get out of there! I love it now though Blush, helps me to be accountable every week

CrazyDuchess · 11/03/2017 11:44

Thank you Flowers I really hope this is the last time I ever see 127kg on the scales!

Good luck for tomorrow 10

GatoradeMeBitch · 11/03/2017 12:46

Hi everyone! I decided to take a 'day off' a couple of weeks ago, and it's lasted until today...

I'm going to read this thread for inspiration and start again tomorrow (today is already lost for various reasons, not least because there's a pizza on its way to me as we speak...) Luckily I know I haven't gained it all back because my size smaller jeans still - just about - fit.

It's grass cutting season soon - and I will not be doing it with a jacket on all summer because I'm so self-conscious about how I look!

10stonestolose · 12/03/2017 07:55

Holy...cauli rice and meatballs, sounds lovely, perfect to get you back on track.

Duchess...thanks and don't worry, you'll never need to see 127kg on the scales again. I can't think in kilos, so googled mine with a stone/kilo converter. Scary! It sounds much worse than stones for some reason.

Gator...good to have you back, we've missed you! It's sometimes good to have a slip so that you know how easily it's done. You'll probably find you're super strict with the diet for a while until you develop your boundaries and triggers. No way will you need a jacket for mowing the lawn, you're already a jeans size lighter, if you keep going, it'll be at least another size or two off by the summer Flowers

Pleased with 3lbs off on my weigh in this morning, esp after a meal out and a couple of glasses of fizz last night. Only 1lb to go to lose a quarter of a bloody person Grin stats to follow....

Lol - I think for me Kgs sound less scary.... I don't want to know what it is converted Sad

Well done on your loss - you are getting so close to hitting 30% loss! Exciting and super inspirational.

As predicted not helped by the huge dinner I am back up to 126.3 kg but I am still pretty chuffed! Will see 125 next week that's for sure!
Current stats
Starting weight: 132kg
Current weight: 126.3kg
Total lost: 5.7kg
Goal weight : 80kg

So I think this is my 3rd week checking in and to be nearly 6kg lighter is quite an achievement.... 6 bags of sugar off my ass! Grin

So nearly half way to my first target (sub 120kg) and feeling determined that this could actually happen Grin

Happy Sunday everyone xxx

FairfaxAikman · 12/03/2017 09:40

Whoops. 2.5lb on.

Problem was I was baking this week for someone and may have licked to bowl a lot

10stonestolose · 12/03/2017 09:57

Thanks Duchess and Well Done to you! 6 bags of sugar off your ass is definitely a result! I think the thing that scares me about kilos is that the number I weigh in kilos is what most normoes weigh in lbs. it just sounds so huge. But not for long now if we KOKO.

I've just made the most delicious frittata ever! Onions, garlic, mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon, sausages, eggs, cheddar and sliced mozzarella. All grilled and crispy on top with gooey mozzarella bits...it was super gorgeous and will do another meal for three of us. Lots of calories, so only good for the low carbers amongst us, but just fancied something different for breakfast and a bit of a treat. It tasted like a cross between a pizza and an omelette...yum! Now feet up and a film, I intend to relax today. Happy Sunday all.

Fairfax....bowl licking is one of life's great pleasures and impossible to resist, hence me not daring to bake Grin 2.5lbs is easily corrected once you're back to it.

FairfaxAikman · 12/03/2017 11:05

Well I've caught a bug and have been puking more in the last 12 hours than I have in the last 5 years (no matter how nauseated I get I NEVER puke), am shivering and am really off my food right now, so wouldn't be surprised if it comes off within a few days.

10stonestolose · 12/03/2017 11:46

How awful Fairfax, sounds like a nasty one, hope you're feeling better soon Flowers

OP posts:
CrazyDuchess · 12/03/2017 12:39

Yes feel better soon fairfax!

NarcsBegone · 12/03/2017 20:19

Fairfax that sounds awful! I hope you're better soon
Well done on all the losses everyone and those that haven't lost just stick with it.
I haven't weighed as went a bit off piste although still within calories but probably loaded on the fat. I'm ok with it and tomorrow is fast day AND a Monday so perfect for re-starting.
I've had a couple of good news things happen, all money related, and it's really helped to lift my mood and means I can afford to replace our beds as ds's is falling apart and I've been on a mattress on the floor trying to ease my back pain but have a lovely new bed and mattress on the way.
I'm really hoping that the new bed and the possible facet joint or epidural injections I'll be having in the next few months will mean I can swim again and so help with the weight loss.

swlondonnanny · 13/03/2017 07:45

Hi Ladies,
Hope it's OK to join you even though it's already March.
I do need to lose 140 pounds to get me from BMI of around 43 to around 23....
I will try lower carb version of Paleo and walking as exercise.
I am 41, think last time my BMI was 23 was at high school...
Will try to weigh on Mondays and do it in kg
Starting weight Mon 13 March - 138.5 kgs
1st goal 128kg (which will take my BMI to just under 40)
Will catch up with the thread properly tonight

10stonestolose · 13/03/2017 08:31

Nanny of course you'd be very welcome to join us! We're all in, or have been in, similar positions to you and understand the difficult battle ahead.

Narcs how lovely to get some surprise good news. A good mattress is just so important if you have back trouble. Enjoy your splurge (and your good night's sleep!).

Positive news for a cold Monday morning: my belt is already on the 2nd of the 4 new holes DH put in my belt last week! Whoop! Pleased I'm certainly losing inches even though the weight loss is sometimes slow.

Have a great week everyone Halo

Checking in. 10stones, you are an inspiration. You are doing so well.

Welcome along londonnanny.

Well done to all the losers Wink.

To all the wagon fallers, it's a blip. The wagon is waiting for you to get back on.

I've had a few days away in Berlin and a couple of social events in London. The wagon was so far off in the distance I couldn't even see it! I'm not going to weigh myself until Friday to see how much damage limitation I can do in the meantime!

user1484578224 · 13/03/2017 08:55

this is a nice thread. well done you guys.

Lotsawobblybits · 13/03/2017 11:16

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Congratulations to everyone who has lost. To anyone struggling, there are no rules to how many times you can get back on it!

In a good place this morning 3.5lbs loss- and into the next stone bracket. So nearly at 15% of my starting weight. I'm going to kick this beasts butt once and for all!

Whoop Whoop 10stones you are doing so well- I am really pleased for you.

Hope you are feeling better Fairfax Flowers

Malmsey That wagon is on it way back round for you- sending positive vibes that Friday is a good weigh in. Envious of your Berlin trip- it is on my must see list.

6 Bags of sugar is amazing going Duchess - Well Done. A random fact 6 Kilo's of sugar is 23,220 Cals!

Welcome Nanny

Keep KOKOing - & Stay positive everyone- have a good start to the week.

OhHolyFuck · 13/03/2017 11:19

1lb on, to be expected I suppose

But stayed for the chat and feel a bit more motivated, I'm so tempted to let it slip and quite frankly put that stone back on in a week but quite frankly where would I be then?

So, deep breath, and koko

CrazyDuchess · 13/03/2017 16:36

Lotsa that truly is a fascinating fact I could easily consume 22000+ calories most days

OhHoly I am with you I have reached the point where I tend to give up because I am bored and I miss my wine!.... but for this thread... will koko because you guys keep me motivated....

OhHolyFuck · 13/03/2017 18:21

So many "quite franklys" in my post!

But yes, duchess, we've got to keep each other going, even through the siren call of the wine and the cake, biscuits, crisps, cheese...

We will block our ears and reduce our backsides!

CrazyDuchess · 13/03/2017 20:08

Proper lol! Ice cold prosecco..... drooling like Homer Simpson now!

10stonestolose · 14/03/2017 07:40

Malmsey thanks, but I'm also v jealous, I love Berlin!! Good luck with the damage limitation.

Wobbly thanks for the whoops. I think I need to do at least 10 whoops for you!!!!! Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop....over 3 stones, you're bloody incredible, well done, you're a superstar!

Holy and Duchess I'm giggling at your naughty minds! But no no no to giving up now, you're in this for the long haul with us, we will not let you give up and this is just the point where you can make the difference if now is when you'd normally give up. This time is different, our wagon is going to just keep coming to pick you up however many times you fall off.

user14845... what a lovely thing to say, thank you!! The thread is a lifeline for me, especially as I don't go to any club, so not accountable to anyone else except myself.

I'm out for coffee this morning, so going to have breakfast before I go so that I'm not tempted by all the pesky cakes and pastries calling my name.

I found a brilliant example of vanity sizing at its best yesterday in Sainsbury's. I've been wearing a pair of their dark denim skinnies in a size 20 (from when a size 22 was tight on me in any other shop) for a few months, but they've been looking a bit big and because of my chunky thighs rubbing together, I'd finally worn a hole in them. Toddled off to replace them yesterday and they didn't have a size 18, so I took the size 16 into the fitting room thinking they'd never fit, but they did!!! A lovely fit and only £14 with the added bonus of me feeling on top of the world getting into a 16. I bought a sweatshirt type top too in a size 16, because the 18 was too big.

Now obviously I know I'm nowhere near a true size 16 yet, but any of you needing a confidence boost, go and spend £14 on these very cheap jeans and that should do the trick. I guarantee you'll be at least a size or more smaller than you actually are and they are super flattering. . It's not worth spending on posh ones whilst we're losing the weight anyway. Needs to be the dark denim skinnies as the other colours are more true to size not as stretchy Wink

OhHolyFuck · 15/03/2017 07:44

10stone sounds like a real boost! Getting in a size 16 would see me dancing through the aisles I think!

I have an asos pair of 18 jeans (seem small though) and some next 16s, they're my aim for Christmas
