Age:45
Starting weight: 19st 10lbs on 01/01/17
Goal: 9st 10lbs
Plan: low carb, high fat

Well, it's the biggest I've ever been. Feel horrid, but determined to make this the last year of being a fat person. I''m going to diet the shit out of this mess I'm in! I've see threads to lose 100lbs, but not 140. If anyone else is in the same scary boat and fancies friendly, non-judgmental journey sharing, please say hello and share away.

Thank you Grin

I love Costa - made more difficult because the staff are so lovely and friendly and knew exactly what I wanted when I walked in! After an hr or faffing to get me and the child out of the house in time for school, it felt like a much deserved reward and set me up for a day at work.....

But it's not the end of the world..

And my bank balance is certainly a little healthier! Grin

FairfaxAikman · 06/03/2017 08:07

2lb on on Saturday but AF turned up a week early on Sunday afternoon so putting it down to that.

OhHolyFuck · 06/03/2017 11:31

Lost 1.5lb making it 1stone 1lb now, slow but getting there

Lotsawobblybits · 06/03/2017 11:33

Happy Birthday Duchess Have a lovely day Grin I love coffee too, been on Americano with milk as a treat- just not the same!

Fairfax AF can mess things up so much, on the plus bet you have a great loss next weight in.

Holy fingers crossed for your Weigh in!

10Stones Well done on the loss- you have done really great.

Narcs Congrats on the loss- hope you are feeling better this week.

Had a good weekend, walked miles & miles on Saturday, then fasted on Sunday. Won't lie was ready to chew my arm off by Sunday teatime Grin. Stuck to plan, got a few social things this week, so was extra controlled over the weekend to try to get ahead, hoping it will balance out.

Just recalculated my BMI & it has reduced by 6.6, a long way to go still but it must be better for my health overall.

Another week of KOKOing- every week ticked off is a week nearer goal! Have a good one everyone.

PippaFawcett · 06/03/2017 12:19

Hello, can I join in? I have 7.5 stones to lose. I am 17.5stones now and this is the largest I have ever been. Every pound has crept on since I had my youngest DC, I used to be around 12stones before I had the children.

I did some batch cooking yesterday to help as I have no control when I get hungry. None of my clothes fit, I have one pair of work trousers and a wardrobe full of things I can't wear, my wedding rings don't fit anymore and sit in my drawer, I could go on and on!

CrazyDuchess · 06/03/2017 14:46

Thanks Grin Cake Flowers

NarcsBegone · 08/03/2017 17:02

Weighed at 14st 5.5lbs today!!! I can't be sure it's a loss as weighed fully clothed last time. Still it's good progress!
I hope you had a good birthday duchess 😊

CrazyDuchess · 08/03/2017 19:25

Wooohoooo narcs - ooohhh I dream for 14st!

Birthday was very quiet but much needed!

Sticking to calorie count but scales are not moving... hope that's a good thing and I get a decent drop by the weekend :)

How is everyone else doing??

MrsWOLF1 · 08/03/2017 20:13

Late to the party ,today I got my 5 &half stone award from sw .I started on 31/8/2016 @ 22st 3.5lbs and all the associated health/mobility issues .Now at 16st 9lbs ,haven't set a firm target but am thinking 12st ,I'm 5ft 9 ,and 54

10stonestolose · 08/03/2017 22:04

Late welcome wagon, sorry Pippa and Mrswolf lovely to have you along.

Duchess...Happy Belated Birthday! Apologies that I missed it, here's a belated virtual Gin toast to the birthday girl. Hope you had a smashing time! 0.3kg is not to be sniffed at, well done and super well done on the exercise.

Narcs....way to go on the 3.5lbs off! Below 14 1/2, I bet you're looking brilliant. Sorry you've not been feeling too brilliant though. Hope you've had some better days since the other day Flowers

Holy...excellent another 1.5lbs off, nice to get over that stone, well done. Hope the sore throat didn't get any worse. Yes I always feel terribly bloated and kind of shitty at TOTM and sure it seems to make a difference on the scales.

Fairfax...you too, huh. It's frustrating when it affects weight, but you'll soon get that 2lbs off. I used to properly binge a couple of days before and it's been tough trying to reprogram myself not to.

Wobbly...thanks, good to still be here after 9 1/2 weeks isn't it?! 6.6 BMI points down is incredibly good, you are kicking butt!! Oh I know that "I could chew my own arm off" feeling very well! Bet you were pleased you resisted though.

Pippa....we'll soon have you in more of your clothes and your wedding rings back on! Well done on taking the first step, that's the hard part. The batch cooking will help you stay on plan, are you following a particular plan?

Mrswolf...you've done fantastically well, huge congrats on your 5.5st off. You're over halfway now, that's really inspiring. I hope to be in your position by the summer. How many dress sizes have you dropped? And have you noticed your health/mobility issues improve due to the weight loss?

I'm having a good week, done 2 mornings of run/walk so far and it does feel like it's getting very slightly easier. I ordered a couple of tops in a size 18 from the warehouse online sale, thinking I'd have to slim into them a bit, but both fit perfectly. One was a fitted button down shirt and I expected it to be straining at the boobs and a really tight fit on the arms so that was a lovely surprise. I don't know if warehouse are on the generous side or not? Probably, but my next goal is to be a size 18 in most shops, so I could do with finding out which shops fit true to size.

My weight seems to be coming off really slowly at the moment, but I def feel better and a couple of friends commented that I look slimmer today. We went for lunch (with a scarily carb heavy menu..I didn't get to pick the restaurant..grr!) and I didn't even hesitate in ordering a salad and green tea. I also walked there and back (uphill), when previously I've always driven and paid £4 to park, rather than walk!.

I just know I have to see this thing through now, it's starting to become second nature and that feels good. We have to celebrate these tiny victories, I think each one spurs us on that little bit further. Hope you're all having your own tiny victories this week. We can so do this!

I didn't think of it as 14 and a half Smile I'm pleased and am really going to up the ante. I was looking through old pictures and the awesome clothes I used to wear and want so much to wear again, I'm really floberbly so that might not be so apt now.

10 it's awesome you're in size 18! I found wallis are usually quite good with sizing in the past. I'm also in an 18 roughly at the moment and suffer the same thing with things being tight over my norks and the arms don't fit on things. As much as I love the clothes I've found that joe browns are really bad for that. Monsoon is ok if it's jersey. I did find some lovely bits in Sainsbury's after a bit of digging! Simply be have a range where you can add cms/inches to the bust of dresses and tops and also select a 'curvyness'.

I'm still lacking in energy but much better than I was thankfully.

10stonestolose · 08/03/2017 23:21

Glad you're feeling a bit better Narcs. You're 3 stones lighter, so I would have imagined you in a 14-16. I know height and shape make a big difference. I think I'm still prob more of a 18-20 though and that warehouse must be a bit generous. I know monsoon is quite generous on me.

I've just discovered I weigh approx 2 x Kim Kardashians apparently (she's 125lbs). I shouldn't grumble, I previously weighed 2 x Jennifer Lawrences (138lbs). Grin I just love a bit of random.

OP posts:
NarcsBegone · 09/03/2017 01:08

I'm definitely not below a 18 Sad my boobs are massive and so are my hips and there's so much skin going on. I can't wear anything tight because of my tummy.
I remember when I was a 12-14 I couldn't get my wedding dress on which was a 18. I think my body has just changed within its sack so much.

You're well on your way to losing a Kim!

MrsWOLF1 · 09/03/2017 07:27

I started off at size 22/24 depending on shop and now am in a size 16 bottoms and 16/18 top ,I'm broad across the shoulders .Healthwise my health is much better both physically and mentally and I get to exercise 5 times a week .Project further down the line is coming off or reducing meds particularly my anti depressants

OhHolyFuck · 09/03/2017 08:21

Had a huge binge yesterday, had an 'international women's day' party at work and had a shedload of cake rounded off by chip butties - then had a stomachache, body is clearly not able to cope with that level of carb and sugar intake now
Going to have to be extra 'on it' the next few days if I want to see any more losses

Lotsawobblybits · 09/03/2017 10:43

Holy Well done on the loss, must of cross posted on Monday.

10stones oh that fabulous feeling of getting in smaller clothes Grin. I'm down to a 20 on top from a 22/24 depending on shop, tops of arms are always a struggle. But at 18 there is so much more choice. Keep going you are doing so well.

Narcs pleased to hear you are a bit better, congratulations on the loss, you are doing so great.

Had a manic week, day out with Friends and their little ones on Tuesday, the food choice was awful in the cafe ended up having just soup, but walked 6 miles according to tracker so fingers crossed it has saved me from the amount of mash I ate out at dinner that night. I was like Bodger and Badger Blush. Again at a work thing yesterday ended up not having lunch as the choice was delicious, but again no safe choices. If only I can shift 1lb this week it will tip me over the 3 stones marks.

Have a good week everyone.

PippaFawcett · 10/03/2017 00:08

I am five days in and I didn't realise quite how many opportunities there are to eat food that isn't good for me. We had a day long conference at work today, it was catered and it was all biscuits, cake, sandwiches, pastries, mini sausages etc. Someone baked at work yesterday, it is endless! Other people seem able to take one or two of things, but not me. So I'm only eating what I know is healthy when it is offered and having 1-2 Freddos at the end of the day if I can.

I was doing SW but I HATE the group classes; everything from how long they take to the clapping. But I think the discipline of weighing weekly to a deadline is good. Currently I am basically 'making good choices' and logging most days with MFP.

PinotAndPlaydough · 10/03/2017 13:20

Just checking in, the last two weeks have been up and down but I've lost another 3lbs taking me to 16st 6. Slowly getting towards that 15st interim goal.
Both my girls have chicken pox and I'm finding it hard being stuck at home especially as people have brought them lots of sweets and chocolate to cheer them up.

PinotAndPlaydough · 10/03/2017 13:22

On the plus side I went shopping this week and managed to by clothes a size smaller and shoes that weren't wide fit Grin

OhHolyFuck · 10/03/2017 14:09

Ok, confession time

After Wednesdays being led off the wagon, yesterday I threw myself off all on my own! Chocolate and cake and wine...

However, today I feel ok, going to have prawn salad for dinner and go to bed early

Going to aim for a maintain this week - Monday and Tuesday were ok, Wednesday and Thursday were horrific but if Friday, Saturday and Sunday are good...I could maybe get it

Good luck everyone else 😊

PippaFawcett · 10/03/2017 14:10

Being stuck at home with treats must be hard, Pinot! I must admit it is harder to lose weight since I had DC as before I just wouldn't have things in the house at all. I hope they get better soon.

I did my first WI this morning and I have lost 6lbs in three weeks which I'm pleased about. Just had a prawn salad for lunch but DH wants Chinese later and I can't decide whether to join him - because I want a sustainable weightloss plan that I will stick to - or press on and have something healthier.

PippaFawcett · 10/03/2017 14:12

x post, OhHoly!

I've just had a prawn salad and it was lovely, but I know I will be hungry again in a couple of hours. I think you have to write-off the bad days/weeks/hours and get back on, don't beat yourself up too much. I know if I have a couple of biscuits I can soon think 'fuck it' and eat the whole packet Blush

CrazyDuchess · 11/03/2017 09:30

Morning all,

Although tomorrow is technically my weight in day, I am very excited to say I finally hit 125.9 today.... and as it probably won't be that tomorrow, I just really had to write it down for prosperity Grin

Still Costa and alcohol free, and low carbing to some extent so I guess my plan for next week will be to stick to low carb a little better and more exercise- I only managed 20 mins on the exercise bike this week (although I still have the weekend and no real excuses to get more in!)

OhHoly I hope you are having a better week!

10stonestolose · 11/03/2017 10:16

Narcs...totally with you on the shape change. I now seem to have enormous hips and thighs and even when I was this this size before, they were never quite this gargantuan! Yes Kim has so had it, we'll all be dropping her soon enough Smile.

Mrswolf... I'll bet you've enjoyed dropping all of those sizes and great that you're feeling better in yourself what an achievement! And it's only going to get better. Exercising 5 days a week is brilliant.

Holy....these things cake, chip butties, chocolate and wine are sent to try us. Grin Hope it was all throughly delicious and that you've now managed to clamber back on the wagon.

Wobbly...thanks and well done to you too on reducing the sizes. Nearly 3 stones is just a mahoosive loss in such a short space of time, you are a dieting demon and brilliantly leading the way for the rest of us.

I have done the unheard of and got up and done my run/walk first thing on a Saturday. I actually looked forward to it! So that's 4 times this week and I am slowly improving my time and it's getting a tiny bit easier each time. I do worry about my joints as I'm so heavy, but that can only improve as I lose the weight.

A couple more positives this week: I had to get DH to put 4 new holes in my belt yesterday and I've noticed that my double chin has reduced so much it's starting to make my face look different. My skin is so much clearer and brighter too, not sure if that's because I'm spending more time and money on skincare (the MN skincare threads are amazing!) or because I'm not eating the tonnes of sugar that I used to.

Have a good weekend everyone, weigh in tomorrow for me.

Arrgh...missed a few of you off:

Pippa...6lbs is great going! Buffet food is notoriously shit for dieting isn't it. All bread, cakes and pastries, well done on resisting. Diet clubs always remind me of the little Britain sketches and def not for me, but I know they work well for lots of people.

Pinot...well done on the 3lbs off and getting into the next size down! Hope the DC's pox is getting better and you're managing to avoid the sea of sweets and choc.

Duchess...great news on your loss, I don't blame you recording it for posterity and well done for still kicking the costa and the alcohol!
