Hi, I know there are lots of new 2017 threads but thought I'd see if there are others like me with a small amount of weight to lose who want support.
This day last year I weighed 10st 11lbs which is my heaviest ever (I am 165cm / 5ft 5in) My aim then was to be under 10 st which I managed but then spent most of the year bobbing around the 10 st mark, which was fine.
Today I weigh 10st 3lbs. It is TOTM so that always adds a pound or two but my target is to lose 7lbs initially and then perhaps aim for 9 1/2.
Aiming to count calories and exercise as this is what has worked best for me in the past Smile

Weigh in day for me and another 2lbs gone, so 2 last week and 2 this Grin

Very pleased, I'm averaging 15k steps a day, resisting alcohol and obvious sweet stuff plus 16/8. The only thing I'm missing is a biscuit/cake with my afternoon cuppa - any ideas what I could substitute it with?

This thread is brill as I feel it's my weekly weigh in/confession. We've also booked a holiday for the February half term so I've got a great incentive, plus i need some sun!

nicebiscuit25 · 13/01/2017 17:37

Maybe home made granola bar or this www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/359605/the-ultimate-makeover-blueberry-muffins could do cup cake sized ones

Mol1628 · 13/01/2017 19:13

My home scales give me different readings as well. Between 9st 8 and 10st 2. Really annoying.

PinxTheTinxMinx · 13/01/2017 19:29

I put my scales on our tiled floor in the exact same position otherwise I get different readings too. Sometimes that can be good other times horrendous Hmm

stillwantrachelshair · 13/01/2017 20:04

Considering I have been wearing two outfits on rotation since Xmas as they are the only ones I can get into, you would have thought I would have motivation to stick to my diet. But I don't. Today I had a small slice of fruit loaf & three chewy mints. And friends have just called to ask if we can go out for Chinese with them as the friends they were supposed to be meeting can't make it. We have grandparents staying & no pride so are off to join them.

NewYearNewNickname · 14/01/2017 08:10

For those of you asking about scales I have some Salter digital ones and they are really good. They give you parts of pounds which I love and I find them very reliable. They are stored upright leaning against the bathroom wall and this doesn't seem to bother them at all. I've had them a while but if I remember correctly they were fairly expensive compared to others but I am very pleased with them Smile

Thank you guys, I will need to weight in Boots to see, #the problem I'm always weight naked and first thing in the morning, I guess the first time I do it, I will disappointed with the number, I have not been very good with my eating, seriously I don't know what's wrong with me, I was doing so well and these last three days I cannot stop eating crap, is like when you try the bad things again, they work like a drug, they taste so goodAngry

twobambinos · 14/01/2017 12:31

Hi everyone good to see so many losses.
I've spectacularly fallen off the wagon. Back on it now. Still 9St 8. I have an awful addiction to junk food and even when I'm not hungry I will eat sweets and things. And I love healthy food too so I tend to over eat on that side of things too.

Keep up the good work everyone.

twobambinos · 14/01/2017 12:33

On the positive side. I started back exercising this week. Was out of action with an injury for the past 4 weeks so it feels good to get a bit sweaty again. Managed two runs and an exercise class.
Next week's aim is two runs and two classes. Building up to 5 sessions a week

I'll join you guys if you don't mind.

Daren't actually get weighed as only gave birth a week ago. But I know I need to get to 137lbs so quite a way to go as I was 200lbs just before the birth.

I'm also 5'5 like lots of people on this thread.

Plan on low carbing, high protein, moderate fat, no sugar, no alcohol at all really, lots of walking. Can't do any high intensity exercise as had a section but will restart spinning once I can.

I find low carb and lots of exercise really helps it melt off.

Aim to be 137 lbs by end March /early April.

thewaitresses · 14/01/2017 19:09

9st 6lbs this morning so -2lbs! Not sure how as I ate entire packet of cheese over two nights in a 'healthy' cauliflower cheese and also most of a Christmas cake 'to get it out the house' Blush. I think dry January must be having an effect!

Ryslady · 14/01/2017 19:25

I'm marking my place. 5ft 4 10st 5lb I was 9st 4lb this time last year 😬
Would like to get below 10st initially then 9st 7.
Going on holiday in June so got a bit of time to lose it.

FiveShelties · 15/01/2017 11:01

Stayed the same this week so still got 7 out of the original 10 to go. I did not really deserve to stay the same and thought I would gain so will have to be really good this week. Have bought a Fitbit and have hit my target of 10000 for 4 out of 5 days so that is a positive. Now if I could only do as well with the wine. Wink

NewYearNewNickname · 15/01/2017 11:37

Congratulations Toffee! Don't be too hard on yourself, you deserve to be pampered for a bit Flowers

I have set my target goal as 9st 7lbs but really I want to comfortably be able to wear a lovely pair of (small!!) summer trousers I still have that I haven't been able to get into for at least 5 years.

Have had wine Fri / Sat and not been as careful food wise so seeing Sunday as back to it fully rather than the slightly half hearted control of the last couple of days!

I've been pretty good all week, have run every day and had fewer snacks. Have small children so find it hard to look after them without eating enough, so weight loss is usually very gradual. Have lost about 1lb, aiming to get to 9st 9lb for the first time in a couple of years by end of next week and 9st 7lb by end of Jan.

stillwantrachelshair · 15/01/2017 16:15

Well yesterday morning was first weigh in and I had lost 3 of the 12 pounds I need to lose. Unfortunately, they were all back on again this morning Blush. Family celebrations involving cake, wine, puddings are to blame.

meatloaf · 15/01/2017 17:29

My weight is flat from the previous week, although I feel trimmer and better.
I was going to meet with a local walking group but was too disorganised ans missed it, so i made myself go on a massive walk in the rain on my own. And off to hot yoga in a bit.

PinxTheTinxMinx · 15/01/2017 18:29

Had a rubbish weekend, I succumbed to bread, lemon tart and I'm craving red wine. Thing is one glass will lead to another etc so I've decided to have a bath instead.

On a positive note I have been for a long walk today and I guess a 'blip' is inevitable. I do miss wine on a Sunday evening though WineHmmShock

oldlaundbooth · 16/01/2017 01:30

Thanks NewYear.

Just realized that y'all must think I'm deluded as I've much more than a stone to lose! Im just not counting the baby weight...

Anyway, today has not been the best food wise: leftover curry (homemade at least) for lunch and chicken pie, baked potato and roasted courgette for supper. Not snacks though. Porridge for breakfast.

Good luck this week everyone 😎

EnormousTiger · 16/01/2017 02:13

Well done everyone. I am abroad now on holiday. 4.5 hours of barefoot walk up and then back down beach which was lovely ( bit tiring by end) and am self catering so can cook my food (and ignoring bread and cereals owners kindly bought in for me). Will walk the opposite direction tomorrow and may be have time for my yoga stretches but for me weight is always 80% in the food rather than moving.

Pity I don't find it as easy to walk in local streets at home every day. Not quite the same appeal as a tropical isolated beach somehow.... The airport ilustrated for me why people find it so hard to eat well - almost every shop only had unreal food i.e. junk food.

stillwantrachelshair · 16/01/2017 06:09

Good grief! I've gained a pound, tipping me to 11st 1. I think I've forgotten how little I can eat to actually lose weight. I have to be vigilant just to maintain. Time to find some will power.
That walk on the beach sounds lovely.

simpson · 16/01/2017 07:23

My weekend was Ok ish.

Yesterday was the first day since starting that I didn't do 10,000 steps (back on it today) and had an enormous roast dinner followed by apricot tart & cream.

But my whole family commented on how good I look (having lost a few pounds) which was nice Smile

cathyandclare · 16/01/2017 07:44

Oldlaund no judging here, just join in :)
I've just regained 2lb gah! I haven't been bad either and I've done a full on HITT session every day. Depressing.
Like Still it's a bit of a shocker how much I need to cut down to lose. I'm going to do a full-on five days with very low carbs, tons of water no nuts and wine and a whole load of eggs to get back in the zone.
