Sorry, pressed post too soon. Well done on the losses everyone!

Have you murdered DD yet, Notso? Or is she going in her vest and knickers? Grin

Ok, thanks all. It makes a bit more sense now. I wonder if I can get my Fitbit to sync with MFP? It's only the basic Fitbit flex ... does anyone know if i can? I can't see anything on the app that suggests I can.

I will stick to doing everything as I was before Xmas and logging food and exercise bike on MFP. I will use my Fitbit for monitoring my steps and I guess if there are some days that I go over my MFP allowance, then as long as the amount of calories eaten is still less than the amount my Fitbit says I've used, then that's a bonus? Would that be right?

MillieMoodle · 08/01/2017 16:42

Wench if you go to "More" on the MFP app, then choose "Steps" then you can add a step tracker. I think you have to add the Fitbit on there and then go into the Fitbit app to allow it to finish syncing. That's what I had to do with jawbone. It took me a while to sort it but now the meals I log on MFP show on my jawbone app and the steps show on my MFP app.

Wenchelda · 08/01/2017 17:15

Thank you Millie! Never occurred to me that I'd have to add it via MFP first! It says it's linked up now, but nothing has updated/changed on my MFP app. The Fitbit app now shows all my food intake and says I have 320 cals remaining? But according to MFP, I am still showing as slightly over by 35 cals? (MFP allowance is 1400. I've recorded on there that I've eaten 1435. Fitbit says I've used 1395 but says I still have 320 left) Confused

Wenchelda · 08/01/2017 17:35

Also MFP says it was "last synced 17:33" so it looks like it is connected properly (especially as Fitbit app now shows all my food) but no adjustment to my calorie allowance.

Fallen off the Dry January wagon Blush

FireflyGirl · 08/01/2017 23:45

To be fair, Bibs, it's been a very drizzly week so a bit of slippage is to be expected Grin

I'm glazing over the MFP/Fit bit chat I'm afraid ladies, as I don't have a Fit bit and it all seems a bit complicated for my increasingly sleep deprived brain. DS keeps waking in the night, which is very unlike him. I wonder if he's got tummy ache from the bug that I've got Sad

Is it sad that I'm actually looking forward to the week ahead and losing weight? I've had three people tell me how slim I look in the last 5 days, and I rediscovered my hip bones tonight Grin

I still am not back to my pre-DS weight, 7lb to go, but I feel so much better about myself! Have done myself a little countdown chart with rewards every 7lb lost - can't remember if I mentioned this. One of my rewards is getting all my old clothes back out to try on, which I'm really excited about.

Wenchelda · 09/01/2017 07:55

Well done firefly - what a lovely boost to have people telling you how slim you look. That must feel amazing. Sadly despite the good half a stone I've lost so far, i don't look any different. I like your idea of setting rewards for yourself too. I might try that.

I am back on my exercise bike right now and struggling!! Going to have 2 hard boiled eggs with some tomato for breakfast after I finish. I'm out and about today so hopefully will get in my full step count today too.

Wenchelda · 09/01/2017 09:20

Gah! Typical.... on a day when I'm going to be walking all day and getting in loads of steps, I've just had an alert to say my Fitbit battery is low! I hope it lasts until mid afternoon at least to record everything I'm doing!

Lapinlapin · 09/01/2017 11:36

Wench I'm glad it's not just me that is confused with the whole fitbit / mfp thing! I've been using fitbit for quite a while and love it, but the whole synching with mfp ( which somehow it seems to do automatically) confused me as I end up with different 'spare' calories depending on which one I look at!

Hope your battery holds out for today - nothing more irritating than 'wasted' steps!

And congratulations Firefly, you're doing brilliantly. Must be really nice to see that your efforts are being noticed.

MillieMoodle · 09/01/2017 14:30

Wench I end up with more calories spare on the jawbone app but I just go with MFP for calories and Jawbone for steps.

Had actimel, tea and cornflakes for breakfast. DS2 had his first swimming lesson this morning which he loved. It was half an hour and was in a hydrotherapy pool so it was lovely and warm! And walking round in water holding a heavy baby is bound to burn a few calories, surely?! Am looking forward to next week already!

Lunch was Tesco salmon and cucumber sandwich, roast beef monster munch and a Coke Zero. Not the best but could have been worse. Dinner will be lasagne and garlic bread. Have also had 2 x rich tea creams and 2 x crunch creams Blush

Am almost back on the wagon, I think I'll be there properly tomorrow! Conservatory is clear now so no excuse not to do 5k on bike every day. Will start this evening. You can all shout at me if I don't.

Wenchelda · 09/01/2017 15:13

Sorry I'm still confused ..... if syncing my Fitbit app with MFP doesn't adjust my MFP calorie allowance based on steps walked, what is the point of linking them in the first place?

On MFP, I've logged eating 1114 calories, plus 106 burned on exercise bike so it is showing I only have 362 cals left. However my Fitbit app tells me I've burned 1562 cals, and also says "401 cals in, 1633 left"

If they don't actually sync and the amount of steps I've done doesn't actually give me increased cals on MFP, what's the point of them linking together? Surely all this walking means I can eat more?!

I'm so confused! ConfusedConfusedConfused

Ice3 · 09/01/2017 16:48

Can't help with the Fitbit sorry! Hope you get it sorted though.

I just took my measurements again and have gone from 39-33-40.5 a month and a bit ago to 38-30-37.5 though I just celebrated with a packet of Mini Cheddars Blush

Chicken and veg for dinner again to try and salvage the day.

happypoobum · 09/01/2017 17:36

OK - checking back in for 2017.

Starting weight on 1 Nov was 12.13.

Weight 23 Dec was 11.11

Today (after a very chocolatey Christmas) 11:13.

MFP set to 1100 calories as when I had my metabolism checked they found that I only need 1300 to maintain (sobs)

triangularchocolate · 09/01/2017 18:22

Wow happy so you did actually lose a stone for Christmas - well done! Did anyone else? I've been super good today and even went on my cross trainer for the first time in a very long time. It's always easier to be good on a Monday though, just need to keep it up now.

Notsoskinnyminny · 09/01/2017 18:49

Well done firefly just being able to get into old clothes is a boost in itself but compliments from other people is a superboost.

wench I don't look any different 1/2 stone down either Sad and you've totally confused me with the MFP/fitbit synch talk although I don't log any exercise calories I just look on them as helping towards the next lb or cancelling out my weekend wine.

millie I used to love taking mine swimming, DS was absolutely fearless and used to give the lifeguards heart attacks. You were good just having a sandwich, I was always starving afterwards and succumbed to the chippy next door Grin

After my xmas excesses I'm up to 9st 8.5 my waist has stayed at 29" but my boobs and arse are back to 38". Back on my 1200/day but weekends will be closer to 1500.

Bibs2014 · 09/01/2017 21:38

So busy at work today and the tube strike didn't help!!

Menu

Porridge with blueberries and Apple

Lunch was quinoa, chickpeas and salad

Dinner was beef stew stuffed with veg - butternut squash, leek, celery, carrot, potato.

2 Oreos

SmellTheGlove · 10/01/2017 10:22

Official weigh in today -12 stone and a quarter. So still 2lbs up from my lowest pre xmas but 4lbs off overall. Not too bad I guess. It's keeping at it that will be the challenge it's just so boring! And too cold and rainy to do my long walks..

AdoraBell · 10/01/2017 17:08

Thanks. Dog is making superb progress. Me on the other hand, not so much. Although I haven't bought and sugary or junky stuff since DDs went back to school. Haven't even weighed myself.

breakfast today was HM granola, seeds, yoghurt and half a pear.

lunch, all day breakfast at motorway services, black coffee

mid afternoon, black coffee and 1 chocolate

Wenchelda · 10/01/2017 18:26

5k on my bike first thing this morning.

B- 2 hard boiled eggs with cherry tomatoes. Cup of tea.
L - avocado on seeded toast with mushrooms. Flavoured latte. Small twix.
D - jkt potato with prawn mayo and salad. Also finished up a small piece of dcs homemade pizza naughty

Just about within my cals today and have got all my steps in too.

Just tried on a pair of jeans that haven't fit me for at least a year and they fit! Grin

happypoobum · 10/01/2017 18:45

Wench Well done on the jeans! It's a brill feeling isn't it?

Today I have had cereal biscuits for breakfast, cup a soup for lunch, chicken teriyaki for dinner. Plus six cups of tea.

Now sipping diet ginger beer it's not bloody vodka and feeling Halo

Ice3 · 10/01/2017 20:14

Well done on getting into your jeans!

Scrambled eggs, beef and veg casserole and laughing cow so far for me. I have restarted C25K. Hopefully I'll finish it this time.

Bibs2014 · 10/01/2017 21:52

Well done on the jeans!

I've eaten biscuits today Angry But also done a workout Halo

MillieMoodle · 10/01/2017 22:34

Well done on the jeans wench!

I am back down to 11st 7lbs which was my pre-Christmas weight so am quite pleased about that; it's 7lbs down on my starting weight! I've got a pair of pre-baby jeans which I try on every now and then, I can just about do them up but I can't move in them. Next target is to lose a couple more pounds then hopefully I'll be able to wear them properly again! Would like to be down to 11st by Feb half term so need to get my (sizeable) arse into gear.

Breakfast today was actimel, tea and cornflakes. Lunch was baked beans on two slices of wholemeal toast. Dinner was chicken breast, Mexican rice, butternut squash, red onion and peppers. Also had 3 x Jaffa cakes, 2 x sponge fingers, a crunch cream and a tree chocolate. But was under my calories for the first time in ages!

FireflyGirl · 10/01/2017 22:34

Think that's what they call a balanced diet, Bibs

Well done on the jeans, Wench. You must be so proud!

Today I have had :
B : shreddies with almond milk, an apple
L : half a pack of Smarties, some twiglets, chicken pieces.
D : Chicken fried rice followed by an apple and some grapes.

I'm within my calories but nowhere near my steps. Oh well, try again tomorrow Grin
