Just got back from holiday this morning and while I feel like I've stayed the same or even lost a bit ( I don't weigh myself as I don't want reasons to celebrate or commiserate) I want to continue with the healthy eating I did while there

I was pretty careful . Limited myself to one treat a day, a gluten free cake , ice cream lolly with chocolate and nuts around.

I never bought any chocolate ( unusual for me). Very few potatoes. I found veg and protein was enough in that heat.
Not a big drinker. A gin and tonic for me is a tonic with a splash of gin a couple of times a day and we walked for miles.

So....I have a wedding coming up next year and I have four lovely dresses to choose from. Two I got married in ( knee length rather than bridal). One champagne, other a kindd of French beige. I can get them zipped but can't breathe in them.

Then I have a pale green and a pale pink. They are unworn as they were new last year and I couldn't wear them as I'd put some weight on.

So...my plan is to practice healthy eating and intermittent fasting till Christmas.

My usual breakfast omelette but this time allowing more than 13 hours of fasting between dinner the night before and breakfast. Green soup. Today's looked putrid but tasted fine. It was a rich dark blue green as a teaspoon of spirulina went in as well. Plus a few cashews and a bit of feta

Tonight will be homemade turkey curry. Eaten by 7 to allow for the fast.

I don't want to go back to chocolate or crisps when I snack.
It's going to be painful as Im Already gluten and mostly dairy free, so I can only cut back on sugary snacks and it's so much cooler here so I want to eat.

I'm also going to look into mindful eating.

Anyone with me till Christmas.

Then it will be a couple of days off. Then back on till our next break in march where I'll have to watch myself for the wedding in may.

I like to have a goal.

Good news, Horrace! Keep hydrated and stay warm. And close to bathroom facilities. Breakfast: amaranth porridge with rice milk and blueberries. Shared with small boy except he declined blueberries and had his with honey.

Dionysuss · 08/11/2016 09:08

I ate well all weekend, but had a bit of a free for all yesterday as it was my birthday. Breakfast at costa coffee, toastie and a cake, huge baguette for lunch and a kebab and copious amounts of wine for dinner.

I recieved several nice boxes of chocolates, the kids probably won't like them so I'm thinking of wrapping them up as Xmas gifts just to stop be eating a whole box in one sitting.

Dowser · 08/11/2016 09:11

Thank you. Yes you are right.

Maybe writing it down helped. I think the cold , dark nights are getting to me.
I have to remind myself, this is my life ...now. Wishing it away for warmer, lighter nights is only going to be detrimental.
Look for the good in each day.
I watched a video on eft last night ...tapping for ' more sleep'

I did it. Did it work ...well I slept a good 8 hours instead of 6.
I'm going to look to apply that to food.
I'll have to give it some thought.
I never ate again after 6pm and having breakfast now...15 hours later

Hope everyone is doing well...despite the weather.

Happy belated birthday Dionysus.i usually put chocolates in the freezer, just to slow down my eating of them.
Hope you are soon better Horace.

Happy birthday Dionysuss!
Dowser, chocolates in the freezer is genius! Also great way of hiding them from boys when necessary as they are not allowed in the freezer. (We operate separate fridges as well. Theirs contains beer, milk, yogurt, Lurpak, cheese, eggs, bacon, chutney and jam. Mine contains food.)

Dowser · 08/11/2016 11:59

I can't bear to give my chocolate presents someone has bought for me ...to someone else.
They are my emergency stash.
Wedding dress try on day tomorrow.

Dionysuss hope you had a lovely birthday! And you are allowed to have a day off on your bday! Don't worry!

Horace hope you fell better soon, and you haven't gained anything so hooray!

Brill the boys have their own fridge?! Genius

Dowser emergency chocolate is understandable! Hope your dress fitting makes you feel better! Sure it will!

Have totalled up my calories for all my meals today and am only on 840 MFP is going to shout at me 😕 Have to find something to eat later on this evening I guess!

BrillianaHarvey · 08/11/2016 12:44

Plenty of time to find 160 calories, Ron! 3.5 dates. 2 chocolate digestives. 1/3 of a Caffè Nero chocolate muffin. Or a large glass of wine?

RonBurgundysMoustache · 08/11/2016 13:39

Don't have any wine or biscuits in the house.. but I do have g&t in a can which are 75cal may have one with dinner then maybe some fruit later that should do it!! Thanks brill I am loving your suggestions! Grin

Dowser · 08/11/2016 14:00

Having a gram flour pizza for late lunch
Just gram ( chickpea) flour and water. On a griddle
Topped with plenty of tomato paste, chorizo and a bit of cheese and onion.
Really nice.

Horrace I hope your fridge is looking happier now Grin and you enjoyed your G&T Ron.

I've had a good day, but tomorrow will be a test - have to go to a loooong meeting about an hour away, so will be feeling the need for a takeaway by the time I get home. Will have to prepare DH to ignore my grumpy "why don't we just get chips" texts when I'm on the train home Blush

BrillianaHarvey · 09/11/2016 09:39

Morning all! Hope you found a good way of using those calories, Ron.
Need to get some breakfast but feeling a bit queasy this morning. It must be the news from across the pond.

RonBurgundysMoustache · 09/11/2016 10:32

Brill I did thank you.. and I managed it without having the g&t so yay me!!!

oh no, hope you haven't got the dreaded lurgy back! its quite shocking isn't it? a man like that will be running one of the most powerful countries in the world! Scary stuff.... I mean he shouldn't have even been considered on his hair alone.. let alone his views!

BrillianaHarvey · 09/11/2016 10:38

Should probably stick to the safer topic of weight loss lest we inadvertently cause offence - but yes, I agree. Waking up this morning was like Brexit day all over again.
Definitely not Kyrgyz, thank goodness. Off to get a piece of rye toast now I think.

BrillianaHarvey · 09/11/2016 10:39

Oh bugger, autocorrect did a v strange thing there with lurgy.

RonBurgundysMoustache · 09/11/2016 10:42

Yes you may be right! Blush

There are so many bugs/virus's going round at the moment, my two oldest seem to come home from school with something new each day, its a joy!

Hope everyone has a good day!

RonBurgundysMoustache · 09/11/2016 10:43

hahaha I knew what you meant!

Dowser · 09/11/2016 13:03

Stop me now!

Sooo tired. Not slept well. Miserable grey weather.

I've just opened the Christmas sweets.
The chocolate toffee log has just bit the dust!!

I've put them in the land of spare oom...for now!

OP posts:
BrillianaHarvey · 09/11/2016 14:17

Oh no! Don't give up!
How long have you got?
How realistically can you step up what you're currently doing?

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 09/11/2016 20:38

Hope you managed to resist temptation Dowser

I've been good today, but think I'm coming down with a touch of the Kyrgyz Wink - suddenly v tired and a bit snotty, nice....

Hope everyone else has has a successful day Smile
