The No S Diet [title edited by MNHQ]

I've decided that I finally need to commit to losing my baby weight. I have 2 stone (ideally more to lose). But will just take it half a stone at a time. I am not really into crazy diets. So I've gone for the 's' diet which is basically eat sensibly diet! No snacks, seconds or 'sweets' (includes cakes etc ) except on days beginning with s (weekends and special days). So three meals a day basically. Does anyone want to join me or be my supporter? I lost 1.5 lb the first week, but then gained 0.3. Next weigh in is Monday and today I was 2.5lb lighter so I'm hoping I will have lost something. I am piling up a bit on the meals but figure that I need that to stick to it at the moment. Hopefully as I adjust I can make the meals smaller/healthier too. Looking forward to the weekend for a pudding and some wine!

Well done Cocopops.
Also on half term here although I am working Monday.
I'm looking forward to some treats this weekend as I still have some Christmas chocolate lying around.
Enjoy all Smile

Half term nearly over for me. I've enjoyed my family time, but looking forward to getting back to routine. I went to the inlaws tonight and everyone had fish and chips. Decided I'd not have them even though I could. Didn't fancy all that grease and as I've had my gallbladder out my tummy would thank me. Not sure what naughtiness I have planned for the weekend 😜 Everyone have a great weekend.

twofloorsup · 18/02/2017 05:12

Ooh fish and chips mmm !
I'm taking my dad to lunch on Sunday as he is 60 today.
Might have fish and chips now you've put the thought in my head Smile

PosiePootlePerkins · 18/02/2017 18:05

Off out for sushi with DH this evening, we very rarely have dinner out just the two of us so it will be a real treat. Haven't eaten since lunch and haven't felt hungry but I will enjoy my dinner later. Plus a couple of glasses of vino!Grin

AristonAndOn · 18/02/2017 18:28

Happy Birthday Two's Dad!
Enjoy the sushi Posie. I've never tried it myself!

PosiePootlePerkins · 18/02/2017 18:43

Me neither Ariston! Hope I like itGrin

twofloorsup · 18/02/2017 21:20

I've never tried sushi either.
I had mackerel in Mexican sauce tonight that was spicy !
Thanks Ariston Smile
I had my liquorice allsorts my daughter bought me for Christmas today. I have to say the experience was mediocre to say the least !
Looking forward to eating out tomorrow- no washing up Grin

PosiePootlePerkins · 19/02/2017 10:27

Well the sushi was delicious! And all healthy apart from the tempura vegetables, oops! We both ordered green tea ice cream which was disgusting and we both left it! I did enjoy a couple of glasses of wine as DH was driving. Feeling positive today.
Twofloorsup its great when you eat something like the liquorice allsorts which you were thinking would be a lovely treat and realise they're not that great after all. Amazing how your taste changes on NoS. Have a lovely meal out today.

twofloorsup · 19/02/2017 10:45

Thanks Posie I'm continually shocked by how different I feel about food now , especially the sweet stuff.

PosiePootlePerkins · 20/02/2017 07:59

Morning everyone, half term here so I'm hoping to stay on track while out of routine. I am another 1/2lb down. I reckon it could take me a year to get where I want to be but I've made my peace with that. Have a good week.

Cocopopsrule · 20/02/2017 08:37

Good morning all. Well done posie on your loss. After my gentle start of just 2 days last week and a very relaxed weekend I'm back for day 3. I've decided friday morning will be weighing in. Im between 75 and 76 kg. I would like to be between 68 and 70 kg.

beela · 20/02/2017 08:52

Morning Smile we're on half term too.

Cocopops, I'm 77.5k at the mo (started at 80) and would like to be 65ish. So am similar to you. My weigh in day is Friday too. I was a bit miffed last week that I hadn't lost anything, but over the weekend 3 different people asked if I had lost weight so I've cheered up again now.

Slowly but surely is definitely the way to do it, despite my impatient moments last week Grin

Have a good week everyone Halo

AristonAndOn · 20/02/2017 12:26

Well done on everyone's successes! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I had a good weighin this morning. Relieved after my half term wk last wk.

twofloorsup · 20/02/2017 17:53

Well done everyone.
Struggling today as I worked very hard this morning and feel starving now but can't eat til about 8 as I have to play taxi for my son.
Want to eat and sleep !

GohomeRoger · 20/02/2017 19:11

Hi everyone, im joining in. Due to chronic illness and medication I am the heaviest I've ever been, and I'm so down in the dumps about the change in my appearance and crap health that I've been eating my feelings Blush.
Low carbing aggravated my condition and landed me in hospital for a week. I can't fast because I have to take medication with food morning and night. Calorie counting works but it's a pain in the arse weighing everything, and I noticed when I logged everything on MFP that half of my calorie intake was snacks!
So that's why I'm hoping the no S diet will help. Sensible balanced meals and no evening snack binges.

Today was my first day and I mindlessly ate one mini marshmallow (my daughter fed it to me and I just didn't think) and a mini egg (there was an odd number and the kids were fighting over it so I ate it before world war 3 broke out). I'm still counting it as a success because I didnt mindfully choose to break the rules, I just need to think before I open my mouth....

AristonAndOn · 20/02/2017 20:19

Welcome GohomeRoger. I have found lots of support here and hope that this works for you. I'm 6 wks in and lost a good amount of weight and the shift in mental attitude has been the best thing. Good luck 👍🏼👍🏼

twofloorsup · 20/02/2017 20:35

Welcome gohome it's working well for me so far Smile

beela · 20/02/2017 21:13

Hi gohome I struggle a bit with my dc giving me food too! Hard to resist when a 2 year old saves you her last chocolate button and wants to watch you eat it there and then!! (I've decided these small things don't count - it doesn't happen that often).

Anyway, we'll done on day 1 Smile

beela · 20/02/2017 21:14

Or well done, even.

AristonAndOn · 21/02/2017 06:53

My 2 year old does the same, not with chocolate buttons though, normally some half eaten veg she doesn't want 😁

PosiePootlePerkins · 21/02/2017 07:01

Welcome Gohome I hope NoS suits you. Lots of friendly support here and also worth taking a look at the NoS website and forum.
I struggled a bit yesterday being at home all day but I managed to stick to it somehow. I have just started an art class on Monday evenings so that was really nice to just go out and do something for me. Also took my mind off snackingGrin

Cocopopsrule · 21/02/2017 08:08

Hi gohome I just started a few days ago too. I am also prone to evening snacking so I remove myself from the food. Instead of snacking and tv last night I did some vacuum cleaning, and read my book in a room where there was no food accessible. We live mostly in an openplan kitchen/diner/play area which also has a sofa on which we sit in the evenings rather than heat another room. Unfortunately the fridge is then in my line of sight. So I have to do something else.

Cocopopsrule · 21/02/2017 08:11

My 2 year old never feeds me anything. She eats all hers then tries to help herself from my plate. Unfortunatley for her when I've only got the one plate Im very protective over it and might have been overly firm with my NO! When she tried grabbing my cheese the other day.

twofloorsup · 21/02/2017 12:51

I'd go mad if anyone helped themselves to something off my plate especially now there's only 3 a day Smile

twofloorsup · 21/02/2017 15:04

Does anyone know whether yogurts are classed as an "S" ?

I've just had one with lunch as I have already had 3 fruits today and didn't want crisps but feel like I've cheated somehow Confused

I used to binge eat yogurts on slimming world as they were "free" but don't feel the need these days.
