I've decided that I finally need to commit to losing my baby weight. I have 2 stone (ideally more to lose). But will just take it half a stone at a time. I am not really into crazy diets. So I've gone for the 's' diet which is basically eat sensibly diet! No snacks, seconds or 'sweets' (includes cakes etc ) except on days beginning with s (weekends and special days). So three meals a day basically. Does anyone want to join me or be my supporter? I lost 1.5 lb the first week, but then gained 0.3. Next weigh in is Monday and today I was 2.5lb lighter so I'm hoping I will have lost something. I am piling up a bit on the meals but figure that I need that to stick to it at the moment. Hopefully as I adjust I can make the meals smaller/healthier too. Looking forward to the weekend for a pudding and some wine!

I'm finding it simple too ( wouldn't say easy though ) !
I've had breakfast and not lunch yet as I've come home to have some cheese on toast and my son is using the oven.
Wouldn't usually eat so late but food at work was horrible today so I thought I'd wait for something worth having.

TheChampagneGalop · 06/01/2017 17:11

And it's friday! The first week's N days are almost completed.

It's gone very well, but I hope that the constant daydreaming about sweets and cakes will end after a while on this diet.

eltsihT · 06/01/2017 18:36

I am please the graph has been helpful.

I did better today and stepped away from the chocolates in the staff room at break time but then skipped lunch as well as I had work I had to get done and ended up having a bottle of lucozade(which is definitely a snack) at my ds's swimming lesson as I was feeling dizzy.

I am off skiing tomorrow for a week. So looking forward to my s days and trying hard to to do to much apre ski.

Panic. Enjoys your s day's particularly at the start when you are loosing weight. As my weight loss slowed down last time I went with the mantra sometimes on an s day rather than anything goes

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 06/01/2017 20:31

I am a daily weigher and my usual weekend gain is 2 - 3lb. I then lose 2 - 4 lb from Monday to Friday. I actually am not that worried now about these fluctuations and keep track in my mind of my Monday weight seperatly to my Saturday weight or lowest weight to date.

The general trend is slowly down so I am happy. I think that there is a movable 4lb of fluid weight that is very easy to gain or lose and makes it harder to spot the trends.

My weight is also greatly affected my the time of the month so really I should only weigh on a Saturday after star week (slimming world term). That is usually when I get my new lowest weight.

Great that people's first weeks have gone well - enjoy your S days. I have not really cracked these yet but would like to evaluate each S day treat and decide if they were special enough to be worth having as an S event.

Cakingbad · 07/01/2017 07:56

Got friends coming to eat tonight. I've decided my S day treat is going to be a decent plate of cheese and crackers after dinner with a second glass of wine. Looking forward to it! My plan is to have one treat each S day rather than going crazy.

twofloorsup · 07/01/2017 08:14

Caking I'm also going with one treat for an S day. Years of binge eating and diets has left me feeling out of control with food so this way it's a bit more restrained ( and something worth having rather than the whole kitchen) Smile

TheChampagneGalop · 07/01/2017 08:37

IT'S S DAY LADIES Cake Wine
To those who are new this week, let's celebrate.
Gonna get me something extra nice, and not binge.

Forgot to say that's a very impressive graph eltsihT!

PosiePootlePerkins · 07/01/2017 09:14

Serenade that is interesting what you say about weight gain and loss, and would explain the 1/2lb to a pound loss per week that I have been losing.
I messed up last night, was DHs birthday and we had family round for Chinese takeaway. Rather than mark it as a special day, which I should have done, I decided to try and just have a plateful of Chinese. I didn't go massively out of control but I did have (small) seconds plus birthday cake. A lesson to myself about planning ahead and recognising my own limitations!
On the plus side in the past I would have used it as an excuse for a full blown binge, whereas in actual fact I felt so full I couldn't eat any more! My appetite is definitely shrinking.
Have a good weekend everyone and enjoy those treats!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/01/2017 09:18

God, I've been hungry for 3 days! I fasted on Thursday and yesterday I ate 3 plates, but lunch was quite small (just a roll with ham and cucumber) and by bedtime I was starving again. I woke up ravenous, only to discover that there's no bread and no porridge oats in the house - woe! I've had Greek yoghurt with pineapple chunks and it's barely touched the sides. Must not undo all good work!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/01/2017 09:20

I know it's Saturday, but I will not resort to eating Christmas cake for breakfast!

mimiasovitch · 07/01/2017 11:12

Happy S day everyone! I had a super duper not cheating week, until I got home from work last night. Dd1 was having a party, so at 10.30 I ended up with leftover Chinese (not so bad as I'd missed a meal out), fortis and several glasses of prosecco. And karaoke Grin. It was very fun, but I regret the Doritos a lot.

AristonAndOn · 08/01/2017 13:02

I'm in my first wk and still really hungry, but pleased I have started and have e we used some control, which hasn't happened in a long time. Thanks for support!

twofloorsup · 08/01/2017 15:12

My sweet last night was such a disappointment that I'm not sure if I'll bother tonight. Very odd for me !

minmooch · 08/01/2017 15:21

I'd like to join please. I'm also doing no alcohol for a couple of weeks and no bread.

I've had no snacks, alcohol nor bread since 1st January. I've lost 5lbs so far. Got 2 stone to go 😱

I first three meals a day and am trying to make dinner not a pig out one.

I think keeping it simple means there's more chance of keeping it going.

TheChampagneGalop · 08/01/2017 19:17

Well, since I've been dreaming about sweets and cakes during my first n s days, yesterday I ate too much sugar and felt ill. Today I have only eaten a little sugary treat and stayed within the normal day rules otherwise. That actually feels much better Confused

I'm surprised the diet is this effective already. Seems it is for you too twofloors!

twofloorsup · 08/01/2017 19:41

Yes it does feel like a good fit for me Smile
However I've not had dinner yet and can't decide what I want and I'm almost past hungry !
I don't think today is going to be an S day for me I just don't fancy it.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/01/2017 20:05

Yesterday I had lots of sugar and snacks. Today is a bit weirder - no breakfast, sandwich for lunch, pork and mash for dinner, followed by crisps and hummus and chocolate. I was still hungry.

PosiePootlePerkins · 08/01/2017 22:48

Welcome minmooch I also try not to have any alcohol in the week, and only a glass or two at the weekends, it really doesn't agree with me the older I get. Annoying as I used to love a few drinks, but probably better for the waistline!
Hey mimiasovitch that sounds like fun!
Ariston really pleased its going well so far, just post for support whenever you need it.
Twofloorsup and Champagne you are beginning to lose your sweet tooth! Awesome. Mine came back over Christmas dammit but am confident I can conquer it again. *
Cheddar* I had a snacky weekend too, not too sure the scales will be kind to me in the morning.
Good luck getting on with your NoS weeks!
Hope I didn't miss anyone outSmile

PosiePootlePerkins · 08/01/2017 22:49

Caking sorry! Hope the cheese was good, yum yum.

mimiasovitch · 08/01/2017 23:00

My weekend has been a disaster of disordered eating. Virtually no proper meal as such, but nibbles and crap all over the place. No wonder my weight has rocketed over the past few years. I think that when my husband works away I often eat badly, but never really thought about it like that. Next weekend I'm going for meals with limited s events, rather than a weekend long roll in the mince pies. At least they've all gone now.

Good luck everyone for this week

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/01/2017 23:08

God, imagine actually rolling in mince pies.

panicovernow · 09/01/2017 11:23

My weekend was full of S's. Once I started that was it I had anything I fancied. So my 5lb weight loss has become a 2lb weight loss for the week. I know that's reasonable, however I plan to manage next weekend differently, hopefully.
Back to no snacking today and it feels good to have that boundary again. Hope everyone has a good weekHalo

PosiePootlePerkins · 09/01/2017 12:49

Panic 2lb loss is fab! Well done. I know what you mean about the relief of getting back to NoS in the week though.
I managed to lose the 1 1/2lb I put on over Christmas so I am pleased with that.

panicovernow · 09/01/2017 13:12

That's great Posie.
I've just made a crap choice at lunch, made fairy cakes with my daughter yesterday. I put one on my plate for lunch today and only after eating it did I realise it was an S. Can't believe how stupid that wasAngry

PosiePootlePerkins · 09/01/2017 13:40

Don't be too hard on yourself, you're still getting the habits sorted and it takes a while. In reality one fairy cake won't do any damage. Mark it and move on! (One of my favourite quotes from the NoS book)
