So...this is a thread arising from a thread, rather than about a thread!

This is a weightloss chat and challenge thread for those above average height (5'7 and above) who are hoping to lose a few lbs, or possibly more.

I'm 32, mother of 1 DS (4months) 5ft7 and currently 13st2.5lbs.

I'm hoping to lose 42lbs!

I'm using mfp to track calories. I'm breastfeeding so aiming for 1800ish. I'm going for the slow and steady approach.

I've an underactive thyroid and birth trauma which limits the exercise I can do at the moment.

Can I join too? Lost my mojo with SW, I'm 6ft and weigh 15.8. Want to be 13 stone but fear that's damn near impossible. Main focus at the moment is to loose as much as I can for holiday season! Trying unsuccessfully to follow SW with intermittent fast days included. Use Fitbit but could do with some more exercise .

Day 3 of exercising done so feeling ok. Starting my next whole 30 as well and making it a whole 60.

Whole 30 rules below for who asked whole30.com/whole30-program-rules/

Sorry can't do links! But basically it's like a paleo detox where you cut out pretty much everything for 30 days to try to get rid of cravings/ emotional eating and all the rest of it. So, no sugar, no alcohol, no dairy , no grains, no legumes, no chemical crap

Basically you can eat fruit, vegetables, Meat, fish, eggs, most nuts and healthy fats such as olive oil/ coconut oil. It's the only eating plan i've ever stuck with and the most restrictive

Can I join you. 5ft 11, 89kgs (down from 94kg having been doing 5:2 since March). Would like to get to between 80 and 75kg....first aim is to get to 85kg....which is what I was pre kids, body wrecked by having huge (7lb 6 and 6lb 12) Dt's have a not brilliant r'ship with food (emotional eating, portion size) , got down to 76kg when mid separation and unhappy but was just not eating and barely functioning so that was not healthy. Weaknesses cheese, crackers, crisps, wine.

Thanks for that link Connie. Sounds hard-core but I bet it's worth it. Not sure I could do it at the moment.

Welcome place.

So since last week I've lost 1.5lbs. Slow and steady!

Managed to wear a pair of trousers yesterday that haven't fitted for two years so something is happening.

I'm doing the Harcombe diet, basically low carb. Phase one lasts 5 days, no wheat, no fruit, no potatoes, no caffeine, no alcohol, no sugar, no vinegar, no mushrooms, very little dairy then you move on to phase two which is a bit less restrictive. You can have 50 g if brown rice or porridge oats every day.
I've stuck to phase one for nearly six weeks and after the initial few days I've found it easy. I allow myself one treat, which is a decaf coffee with a dash of cream every day.

I did BIWIs low carb boot camp a few years ago and that was brilliant too. I just found breakfast difficult which is how I ultimately fell off the wagon.

1800 Caldwell today, including a chocolate mousse and pancakes- it's national vegetarian week so had a massive vegetable bake for tea, was only 280 calories!

I'm 5ft 11 and 10 stone 6 which is a stone and a half heavier then my pre last two children weight. I'd like to get back under ten stone but my eating habits are getting quite bad and I'm a terrible snacker.

I'm going to cut out sugar from tomorrow as that's what I live on and try to be a bit more balanced.

Junosmum · 19/05/2016 08:23

Good luck brian. I find sugar so hard to cut out.

I'm a sugar addict...eat healthy enough meals but then gorge on chocolate

Have cut it entirely for over a month now and urges are getting less

Hi!

I'm 6ft. Not sure of weight as I never weigh myself but am currently size 16 and really want to be getting back to my pre-pregnancy size (12/14). Totally achievable... I just need to step away from the cakes/biscuits/chocolate!

I seem to manage the fast days relatively easily, but the day after I crave carbs. Does anyone have any solution to enable me not turning into a carb fiend post low calorie day? I undo all my good work...Sad

Right, I am IN. I am 5.11, and need to stop eating everything I can see. I've been putting off weighing myself but will do so tonight and report back. I have to do something, I have been naturally slim all my life and whilst I'm not (yet) obese, I definitely have piled on the pounds recently and need some inspiration.

Will my friends be able to see I've joined the FB group? I'd rather keep it quiet!
