1!!!!!!!!!!!! Hardly believeable the munchkin is 1. It is a party for our friends/relative more then her - everyone says I should have one - it needs to be in a hotel as our house to small.

This is the reason for diet - I want another one and currently too fat to get pregnant (that is my thinking anyway).

fussymummy · 21/01/2007 22:23

meb2006 keep your appointment and just start again tomorrow.
Tell her you've had a bad couple of days!!!

juuule · 22/01/2007 10:58

Obviously jinxed my diet with my last post. I am finding it increasingly difficult to hold out against food cravings at the moment. I don't know whether it's because I didn't lose anything last week (week2) even though I stuck 100% to ss. I know I've got to keep going and it has to work but I'm finding it really difficult today and yesterday. I'm not hungry but I do feel incredibly tired. Holding out so far. I'm finding that other peoples stories of success help a lot. It's going to be a looong day.

snowwonder · 22/01/2007 11:16

could you maybe split the meals in half so you are haivng little and often it might break the day up a bit

i was going to ask aswell, someone on here splits them might be moonshine was going to ask how much she splits them by - in what quantity

meb2006 · 22/01/2007 12:16

I think it might be me!? However on the basis I am currentlky such a failure I cannot preach. However when things are going well I normally water down all - the soups make about 3-4 bowls (and it is still quite nice - I find it too strong to use the suggested water) and the milkshakes make at least 2 quite large glasses with ice (any more then that and it loses flavour).

Have you tried the veg savoury drink as a stop gap - more watery but more or less like having a bonus meal!

Don't worry about no weight loss - if you carry on I suspect you will lose at least 6lb next week and it could even be double depending on how quick you lose.

Hwve you measured your waist - if you have a start measurement? Even when you don't lose on the scales you are losing inches from somewhere.

juuule · 22/01/2007 14:12

Thanks for the suggestions Hopefully if I manage to keep it together this week I will have lost something.
Meb - have you started back on it, yet? Deep breath, fresh start and off we go again. Your not a failure and you've got a few months until your dds birthday. You could have lost quite a bit by then.

bendigoblue · 22/01/2007 23:07

I nearly cracked today. My own fault really, I made the boys Mac n Cheese with hotdogs, my favourite. I got as far as having a bit of hotdog in my mouth and chewing before spitting it into the bin.

Sigh, best have a good weigh in tomorrow or I might fall off the wagon totally.

I did go to the pool this evening and swim for 45 minutes, and i've had 6 litres of water today so not all bad.

God I wanted that mac n cheese though...

meb2006 · 23/01/2007 10:11

I don't know if this is the case - but on the basis they say drink miminum 2 litres+ as it says on the drinks but then encourage you to have more - is 6 litres a bit excessive? can you drink too much? I only say this as if you don't lose as much as you may have liked rememeber you are carrying a lot of water. I put on 3lb in a day with 2 litres of water only!

Also on LL I know that you can get to a stage where you drink too much as after a certain amount the essential vitamins and minerals etc in the drinks are washed out if you are constantly on the loo - I am no expert though so maybe a point worth checking on other boards just in case.

Good luck with the weigh in.

moonshine · 23/01/2007 12:10

Typed out long reply and have just lost it, sigh. Meb - are you carrying on now? Just look at any dieting thread on MN alone and you'll see loads of people always fall off their particular wagon, so don't beat yourself up - it happens. It's a great diet but God it is boring, especially for people who like to eat (and we must all be that, otherwise we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place!).

I used to drink 6-7l on LL and it was positively encouraged, but it's too cold for me to drink that much now. They do say the more you drink, the more you lose, but I personally haven't noticed any difference this time so far. I have noticed that the Swiss Bouillon makes me retain water so I have given it up for now.

Week 3 weigh-in for me and I have lost another 4.75lbs, which now makes me 12st 5lbs. I find it depressing to look at the bigger picture and set myself mini-goals. The next one is to get to below 12st.

It is hard mentally but if you stick with it for a few weeks, then you will start to really see a difference in yourself - I have lost more than 3ins off both my stomach and waist!

Good luck all with weigh-ins this week.

fussymummy · 23/01/2007 12:38

Well done moonshine thats a good loss this week.
I do the same as you and am aiming to get to each stone.
For every stone i lose i'm having a treat for me. (not an edible one!!)
Will be weighed tomorrow again.
Hope i've lost at least 3lb,then i'll have hit my first stone!!!!!

meb2006 are you back on CD?
I hope so, you'll feel so much better for it in the end.

I just remember each summer, and how i always stay covered up and end up sweating so much.
I don't want to be like that again this year!!!

My kids don't believe that i'll go on rides with them at theme parks, but only when the weight has gone!!!!

It's reasons like this that i think of when i start craving food.

Also the fact that i'm going to have to get new clothes that hopefully don't all come out of 'Evans'!!!!!!!

Rubybees · 23/01/2007 13:21

Started today, lady was really helpful and honest (will be hard first week GR8!!).

So far doing well, I think because since xmas I have been watching much more and managed to get down to 3 meals (though rather large ) the three times a day thing will be okay (I can here you laugh, so naive hehe)

Moonshine drink hot water it goes down better when the weather is like this

Looking forward to my new body ((((sigh))))

x

fussymummy · 23/01/2007 13:26

When i started i honestly thought it'd be a lot harder than it is.

I had the feeling of being hungry, but had loads of water and black coffee is not as bad as i thought it'd be, quite enjoy it now.

You'll be fine!!!!!

We can all get each other through this.

bendigoblue · 23/01/2007 13:29

Well I lost 6lbs, yay!!!! only 1 more for my first stone!

I don't think 6l of water is excessive, I know I was encouraged to drink more than 4 on LL, and on the mini mins board lots of people are drinking 6 litres plus. And I did excersise, I've been getting through my 4 litres by tea time most days.

One thing that has worried me is the level of ketosis i'm in. I read somewhere that ketosis can be bad for you in that you burn the lean muscle around your heart etc as well as fat, which scared me a bit. I asked my counsellor and she wasn't much help but did show me the little colour chart on the side of the ketostix and said it was bad for you to be the dark colours and it should be lighter. Well quite often i've done it and its been dark so now i'm a bit unsure. I think i'm going to book in with the doctors and discuss it with them.

Other than that, yay!

meb2006 · 23/01/2007 13:31

Hi All. Yes called the counsellor and she was astonishingky nice about it - she said if things get relly bad to eat the following.....and to have a box prepared for when this happens.

She arranged to see me next Monday when I should have done another proper week ( my suggestion - she is happy to see me whenever). She did n't tell me off but told me to persevere (in contrast to old LL counsellor who would have gone ballistic!)

did it yesterday and this morning back to pre curry binge out weight from Saturday si that is which is quick repair work.

moonshine fussymummy have you now both done this for 3 full weeks? How much total have you lost? I wish I ws 12 stone 5!!!

catsmother · 23/01/2007 13:44

Oh dear, had my 1st weigh in for 2 weeks today and I have put on 3lbs.

Mind you, it could have been worse after a week of eating .... and my reason for that was that I was ill, was in hospital for 3 days and had been taking a lot of pain killers, which I didn't want to do on a near empty stomach.

So ..... am back on the CD today, now I no longer need the painkillers. Am telling myself that overall I have still lost 22lbs, and hope that a week of SS, without any bars will kickstart my loss again.

fussymummy · 23/01/2007 13:51

meb2006 I lost 11 lbs in 10 days, that was when my first weigh in was.

Tomorrow will be my second weigh in, which is 9 days later.

So been at this for 19 days in total!!

My counsellor also has another job that she does shift work, so not always weekly appt.

Well done for getting back into it and for making another appt.

moonshine · 23/01/2007 15:56

Meb - yep, day 22 for me today so am motoring towards 4 weeks which I will consider an achievement. Here are my stats:

Hgt: 5ft 6ins
SW: 13st 11lbs
Wk3 CW: 12st 5lbs
Loss: 20lbs

Have not cheated at all (I'm really scared to and want to get this over and done with asap), I drink every day c. 4-5+l water (tap and fizzy), several black coffees and one coke zero and nothing else.

Actually what I really really miss atm is milk in my coffee - think you can have it on the 790 plan?

Those of you who have been doing it longer - do you do the AAM? Does it make a difference to your weight loss?

meb2006 · 23/01/2007 16:52

you all have fantatsic losses. well done. hopefuly at the end of this week I will have done close to a stone but I am significantly heavier.

I suspect the answser is yes it will make a difference - you will still lose but not as much. The whole odea is that your body gets used to a bit of food and then when you take the food away again it gives you a kickstart to carry on on losing (i.e. it is trying to cut down on plateauing) so I think if you did continue to lose at the same rate for that week this would n't work properly - but since you are still having such restricted calories you will still lose so don't worry.

mummypoppins · 24/01/2007 12:20

Hi all..............can I join please. Just seen my counsellor. Weight 13.1 Height 5.4 BMI 31.

Gonna be hard...............work as a solicitor and have many client lunches etc.

Also know that mother and DH will not be supportive.

Any advice would be good. cannot face another summer in size 18 T shirts.

Here's an incentive...........we have an out door heated swimming pool at home. Free swims and Pimms by the pool to all Mumsnetter's who succeed to lose 3 stone and help me do so!

meb2006 · 24/01/2007 12:30

Of course welcome aboard - book me a sunbed please. Am also solicitor but no client lunches boo hoo!

mummypoppins · 24/01/2007 13:10

What area do you specialise in ?

I am in Worcester and head up a private client team.

snowwonder · 24/01/2007 13:32

mummy pop

are you starting today or tomorrow?

best of luck

mummypoppins · 24/01/2007 14:12

tomorrow.......already had a night out with girls booked tonight!

had my last mars bar.............!! What am I like.

Food is a big comfort for me...wine too. It was CD or AA !

How are you doing ?

tiger8565 · 24/01/2007 14:30

mummy poppins, i started off the same weight as you 3 months ago, I am now a stone and a half lighter....why are you doing CD when you obviously like food??? I followed SW and love my food, and eat loads, I miss out on nothing... I just cannot understand why you'd wanna put yourself through it ???

meb2006 · 24/01/2007 15:47

what a lurker?????!!!!!!! only joking. Don't listen. SW is fine for some but not all - I have heard it had good results but for some of us (me!) I would probably find it more difficult to keep to an eat sensibly rather then eat nothing at all!

If I manage to get pregant (one of the reasons for this diet) I will need to switch to something else and wil probably go to SW - but I don't think anything gets the weight off as quick as CD so it is a fantastic start whatever you choose - there have been some fantastic losses on this board.
