you can have as many tetras a day as you wish. Only one bar per day. I love the chocolate tetras, hate the banana ones though.
There is no difference really between shakes and tetras. Tetras have 137kcal and packs have 138kcal.

meb2006 · 15/01/2007 16:04

got new counsellor already. She sounds a bit abrupt compared to old one - such a shame...it makes it more difficult I think if you don't get on with counsellor. Still I should n't judge as we have n't had a meet yet.

bendigoblue · 15/01/2007 22:38

Meb - Good you've got it sorted so quickly, hope she appeals more in person!

I've got my first weigh in tomorrow, I don't hink i'm going to get the fantastic first week loss so many others get, but at least it will be a start! Been for a gentle swim tonight too which has made me feel good.

And the fruits of the forest shake tastes very yummy warm!

meb2006 · 16/01/2007 09:59

I wil say it now I cheated! I was n't even hungrey but so P* off that my lovely counsellor bailed out (though not her fault as she has some family issues)and cam ehome yesterday to house filled with smells of food (really nice ones) that I did (any excuse) had number of veg (boiled) a nd small chicken breast - I know I am bad.I can confirm my sense of taste has gone. Only had 1 tetra too - I could n't face downing the drinks last night as I was in such a bad mood. ok going to be weighed now and then back on straight and narrow - what should my punishment be?

bendigoblue · 16/01/2007 11:52

I'm very tempted to cheat too. I lost 7lbs since last wednesday. My friend who is doing LL lost 5lbs in her first 2 days. Why does nothing ever work well for me, I didn't cheat once, drank 4 litres of water religiously. I know 7lbs is good I suppose, but when you read so many stories of people losing a stone in their first week. It's not like I don't have loads to lose either.

I'm bummed.

meb2006 · 16/01/2007 12:25

I lost 6.5lb. new counsellor is a bit gruff compared to last lady. She would n't give me any bars til week 2 which I know is not the standrd - she thinks it can put out ketosis if you are suseptible so have to wait til next week. Even if you remain in ketosis she thinks it slpws down loss for some people. I am going to have bars - I think it is difficult enough to do this - if you need bars in order to just keep on it then you shoud have them! No mousse til next week either.

BendigoBlue don't be down - I lost about the same. I know it is not amazing but I know I would n't have lost that if I had tried to diet normally. You may do 7lb or close to it next week and then that is a stone in 2 weeks which is fab is n't it? This is what I am telling myself. If you keeep to it you will lose 3 stone in 3 months - try to keep that in mind - when we are all the "other side" of 3 stone we will all feel fab.

meb2006 · 16/01/2007 12:28

also loosing 5 lb in 2 days - either this person is 40 stone and has never been on a diet before or it is mostly water - you don't lose 5lb of proper weight in 2 days - try not to compare yourself - just focus on what you are doing - and you are very much going in the right direction!!!

bendigoblue · 16/01/2007 13:07

Thanks Meb, together we can do this!

Someone on another forum said that it probably means we didn't have that much glycogen to lose in the 1st place because our body doesnt store as much or something which is good in a way as it means it will be easier to stabalise our weight when we reach target.

I like the sound of that so i'm clinging on to it lol.

mrspoppins · 17/01/2007 05:04

Hi everyone! You're all doing so well.

Been really ill with flu on top of a sickness bug and returning asthma so it's been a fun fun fun week!!!

Needless to say, have not done CD. Feeling better today and counsellor coming this afternoon so will have a weigh in and restart

Shall we start a new thread this Saturday now?

I thought you must be ill - hope you are feeling better - yes we can wait till sat if you want.I think there are only about 6ish of us posting on here at the moment - think everyone else has collapsed.

snowwonder · 17/01/2007 09:37

hi everyone, i am doing ok and hope you are to,
finding the water abit hard to get down as was a bit cautious yesterday as had hospital appt in london and didnt want to drink to much as i was unsure where toilets were etc.
i am going to try and drink extra today,
2 days until my weigh in - yippee!!!!!- i need it to keep me motivated

moonshine · 17/01/2007 09:48

I am still here and plodding on - bloody hell it feels so slow on a restart. But shouldn't complain - week 2 weigh-in had a 5lb loss so that's 15.25lbs off. Had one really really bad day when I hated everyone and everything. But then I try to think about how Spring is not that far away and I don't want to still be wearing baggy hide-everything clothes.

Oh and I drink a can of Coke Zero every day. Not the healthiest of habits but sometimes you just got to do whatever helps you get through it (and it's better than eating 5 sausage rolls and 4 choccy bars ).

bendigoblue · 17/01/2007 10:39

I know what you mean about having a really really bad hate evryone and everything day. Mine was yesterday, DH drove me mad, I wanted to shut the kids in the cellar (didn't obviously!) because they were winding each other up and all in all felt pretty miserable. So I took my anger out on the housework and now downstairs is spotless lol.

Is anyone doing any excersise? I don't want to end up saggy so i've been swimming and on the cross trainer, is that going to do anything negative to me?

mrspoppins sorry to hear you've been ill, good luck with your restart!

snowwonder · 17/01/2007 11:10

moonshine what a fab loss, you dont weigh that much do you, think you are less than me, you would normally expect that kind of loss from someone heavier, so that is fab bet you feel great over a stone in 2 weeks. FAB

moonshine · 17/01/2007 11:49

Ta Snowwonder - I started at 13st 11 lbs and am now 12st 9.75lbs (every quarter matters ) but I probably have huge glycogen storage capacity which is probably not a good thing!

Meant to say hope you feeling better MrsP.

As for exercise I keep saying I will try to do some toning but haven't got round to it yet. I do try and do 10,000+ steps every day though. Haven't been so good lately as I find I feel quite weak in the early days of the diet but am feeling back to normal now (managed 18,000 the other day! But will be very low today because it is so cold and rainy and am not that devoted!)

meb2006 · 17/01/2007 11:53

I ate again last night - 12 ryvita (and I was watching Gillian Mckeith (the very unhealthy looking health expert) - does anyone else think she looks awful? on you are what yoou eat) - I did n't think the counsellor was v motivational to way the keast. No difference on scales today though.

my counsellor was n't sure about the coke zero - still she thinks anything mught effect weight loss - bars, water, all sorts.

back on the straight and narrow today I hooe - finding it vvvvvvvv difficult.

moonshine how did you manage that? What was your start weight - you are not that heavy if I remember? It is v .good - it makes me feel a bit dispondent when I can only do half of that and being much heavier but hey that's life - I wisd I ws a 5'11' blonde too!

Now looking forward I can't remember who was having a 40 birthday this year and suggested a get together (by which time we will hopefully be the meet of the twiglets (Joke) - when is the day - hope it is December at the rate I am going (Ha!Ha!)

bendigoblue · 17/01/2007 11:56

Is the weakness fairly normal then yes? I've been feeling weak at times, then at other times I have loads of energy. The mornings seem worse for the weakness. The last couple of days my stomach has been growling but I don't 'feel' hungry iyswim, is that normal?

Sorry i'm obsessing a bit aren't I!

Moonshine - That is a really great loss, well don, you must feel really chuffed!

moonshine · 17/01/2007 11:59

Lol - I think everyone obsesses on this diet! Yes I think it is quite common to feel weak for a while but you should start feeling energetic and get a ketosis 'high'. How lone have you been doing it? My stomach also grumbles every now and then - I imagine that's normal cos there's nothing in it! But I like to think that it finds nothing there so goes off to the fat stores to fill up!

bendigoblue · 17/01/2007 12:08

This is day 8 (yay a whole week without cheating!). I feel ok, not bounding with energy or anything, but not comatose either!

fussymummy · 17/01/2007 13:32

Hi everyone, not posted for a couple of days, sick child to look after!!!!

On monday i told my counsellor that i wanted to try doing the add a meal, which she said was ok as i have a lot to lose and i had to be happy with what i'm doing.

Told her it wouldn't be everyday, only if i really fancied it.

Had some tofu and veg and after i'd eaten it i wished i hadn't!!!!

Felt really sick and then got a headache that lasted 2 days!!!

Am now definately on bars and shakes from now on.

Keep up the good work everyone. We can all do this together.

meb2006 · 17/01/2007 14:06

I felt fine when I ate - the problem is I canlt stop when I do!!!

You know I thnk I am going back to counsellor - I need the bars - I can't go another week with no food and it seems ridiculous that I can't have them when everyone else can! I am in bloody ketosis - I am stil in Ketosis even having eaten last night so one bar isn't going to send me off!

BTW the oriental chilli soup is about 10 times better then the veg soup.

catsmother · 17/01/2007 14:38

Congratulations to everyone who's lost and/or is still sticking with this.

I haven't been around for a while because I ended up in hospital with dreadful abdominal pain and breathing difficulties. Turns out I had/have a collection of fluid (??) internally causing an infection/temperature. Anyway, was kept in for 3 days and am now out but on a whole raft of stomach & antibiotic tablets.

Obviously, I didn't eat that much while I was inside (was nil by mouth for 36 hrs) but I couldn't do CD and since coming out, have been eating "normally", but not excessively, as I still feel a bit weak.

I still haven't weighed myself but intend to start CD again on Monday so long as I feel better. I had been due to be weighed this Monday just gone but obviously couldn't keep that appointment ...... so heaven knows what's happening with my weight. I am hoping that similar to Xmas, by the time I next get weighed, I will break even.

I know my health is paramount, but it's so frustrating when you're "into" the diet and then that's taken away from you through no fault of your own.

laughinglil · 17/01/2007 14:42

meb.. personally for me bars are a must. I cannot do this diet without them. I don't care if my weight loss slows down because of them..as long as I am losing weight and not putting on who cares? Tell your counsellor that personally you need something to chew on. They won't harm you in any way so why shouldn't she give them to you? Good luck and stay away from the ryvitas lol!

laughinglil · 17/01/2007 14:43

Just booked to go to mexico in May..cannot wait..really have got to be a slim jim by then!

meb2006 · 17/01/2007 15:56

think having something nice to look forward top really helps - the holiday sounds fantastic.

catsmother sorry to hear you have been so poorly. I am not trying to put you off but is it too soon to go back on CD? Are you back up to 100% fitness? I only ask as people s.times get a bit OTT with it (I am not saying you are) - my friend went in for an operation under general anathestic and did n't want to tell them she has lost 4 stone and had not eaten solid food for 4 months because she didn't think this was that important!!! How bloody stupid when this sort of thing effects the amount of anaesthetic they give you! Only just meant to say if you feel well they do it and if yu don't wait a few days....
