Try this....

more inspiration

Nice idea to just pop something at the end of post, then people can put whatever information on they want.

Mrspoppins - well done on being a stone lighter despite struggling - you are still on course for the 'a stone a month' Cambridge promise. I'm sure you've read lots of helpful advice on the CD site, so hopefully you'll find it easier - I do find it can take a while sometimes to really hit your stride, but once you do, you'll be flying! I've said it before but I shall say it again - it is so much easier if you don't cheat. But if you do, just put it behind you immediately and think of it as a blip. And having mini goals makes it mroe bearable as well. You will do this!

Just to say the minimins site is great - I post on it under another name (but related and have a diary.

First week done and dusted for me and have lost....(drum roll)....10.25lbs. So, here are my stats.

Height: 5ft 6ins
Start weight: 13st 11lbs
Current weight: 13st .25lbs
Target: 10 - 10.5 (I have a big frame and a face which tends to get very gaunt - not good at 40 - so I haven't decided yet).

catsmother · 09/01/2007 10:55

Well done Mrs Poppins on that stone lost. I know you said you had various functions and things to attend during December, so you should be very encouraged you still lost.

No diet is easy but this one, above all others I think, gives you the added impetus of fast, noticeable results ..... well, we all want to lose weight like yesterday don't we ?! I've done both WW Points and WW No Count within the last 3 years and although I did lose, I just couldn't last the distance as there were weeks when I lost nothing despite not cheating and it's at that stage you think "why am I bothering ?"

I do worry that when I get to goal I might get complacent and return to eating unhealthily but am hoping that by going through the Cambridge maintenance plan I can discover exactly how many calories I personally need to keep a stable weight, and, I will also have the added incentive not to go overboard by being able to actually wear nice clothes again. I haven't been a weight I've been happy with since I was about 33 .... that's 9 years ago ..... and I want to feel like I did then again.

Heavenis · 09/01/2007 12:19

Hello ladies,I'm thinking of doing CD. I know you have to drink alot of water and it can be still or sparkling. Can you have black coffee or tea ?
I've about 10 stone to loose but would be happy with about 6 stone.
I lost 3 stone on SW put eventually put it back on.

fussymummy · 09/01/2007 12:36

Well done mrspoppins a whole stone lighter is brilliant.

Get 14lb of potatoes and carry them round the house for ten minutes!!!
Then you'll be able to see how heavy they are, and that's what you've lost.

I have a lot to lose and i really can't wait!!!

I do feel a bit useless not eating. Bit weird to get used to.

I'm now on day 5 and still hanging in there!!

I want to do this so much, that i'm determined to stick with it.

I have to do this as i'm really fed up being the way i am.
I want to live life to the full and have fun with my kids.

Mrspoppins did you mention a special party on the other thread or was that someone else??

fussymummy · 09/01/2007 12:39

Heavenis Yes you can drink black tea and coffee on CD.

Come and join the rest of us.

Don't just think about it, find a counsellor and join.

We can all lose together and support each other.

mrspoppins · 09/01/2007 13:20

Fussymummy.....Yes, the party message was me. I'm 40 next year and this is one of the reasons to getting my weight sorted once and for all. If I can do this...but I should say WHEN I've done this...I'm hoping to organise a party for all of us and anyone else who wants to join in the celebration of being happy and lighter!!!

I've 10 stone to lose and in a year, that is a possibility. Lots of us have less but it means that we all have the opportunity to either achieve our goal or be nearing the finishing line. I think it would be a great idea. At the moment it is just a thought...we'll have to see how others feel and of course, it'd be great to get more of us throughout the year.

Now, I'm going to try to link the cambridge site again and try to figure out why I can't get it to work!!!

Seeing the CDC tomorrow! I was just wondering, when you saw them the first time could you start straight away on SS or did you have to do some of the 790 first?

meb2006 · 09/01/2007 13:28

hi all - lovely to see so many post - have n't done it yet but am thinking of
altering my nickname as 2006 is so living in the past.

well went to counsellor today - she seems very nice indeed. she also said LL is £63 now? talk about prohibitive.

anyway she also said new flavour today broccolli and cheese soup - has anyone tried it yet?

now go 7 proper days to try and do this before weigh in. Is there any way to get the statistics to stick at the bottom of a post?

meb2006 · 09/01/2007 13:29

bendigoblue if you have no medical problems you can go on sole source rightaway.

Heavenis · 09/01/2007 13:29

Just another question do you pay weekly or so much in advance ? TIA

meb2006 · 09/01/2007 13:32

you pay one week as you pick your drinks up - I think it is £32.55 for the weeks worth. if you want extras such as fruit or savoury water flavouring or the stuff you can mix with drinks to make into a mousee it is extra (you cant have this til your second week) - these range I think from £3-£6. It may seem a lot but not when you think how much a total food bill is in a week.

mrspoppins · 09/01/2007 13:35

bendigoblue You can ss from the very beginning...not a problem

meb2006 I'm just copying and pasting. Don't know of another way.I'll definitely ask for some of that new flavour...sounds lovely and I love broccoli and cheese in the real world!!

LAST POST BEFORE MUST GET ON...ONLY POPPED ON HERE TO PREVENT MYSELF FROM PICKING AT THE CHILDREN'S DINNER!!!!

sorry.capital lock on,didn't mean to shout!!!

I will ask my counsellor but I'm sure that you can have hot bovril type stuff rather than buying their mix...there was a particular variety and I can't think of it now. I'll find out.oooooh...think it was called swiss bouillion I'd forgotten about that from last time...I will definitely look into that as it was delicious.

OP posts:
meb2006 · 09/01/2007 14:02

yes it is the bouillion thing - much cheaper then theirs - LL said it was n't the same but think it is. would be nice to get confirmation from a counsellor though - also there are a few varieties of this, normal, vegan, reduced salt - it would be good to kmnow if they are all the same.

Mrs Poppins notice you also live in kent, wonder if we are close?!?!?! I am west kent

gingernutlover · 09/01/2007 18:56

oh and btw have tried brocolli and cheese and really hated it, pity as it sounds so nice but thinks it is because it is like a blue cheese/stilton flavour rather than cheddar and this put me off, if you like strong smelly cheese you will probably like it.

Having the poached egg on toast fantasies again today and dd's tea beans on toast was rather scrumptious looking too.

Is anyone else still hungry after 6 days and still really wanting to eat???????? Or am I just very weak

meb2006 · 09/01/2007 18:57

gingernut lover - thought I would say I wish I was as young as you...............

gingernutlover · 09/01/2007 18:59

ha ha wish I felt as young as I was!

gingernutlover · 09/01/2007 18:59

wsorry, being very negtive today

I will be slimmer, and feel younger when I have lost the wieght

HammerHeadShark · 09/01/2007 22:00

Sorry to crash your thread but I just wanted to say I feel for you gingernutlover - you are not weak at all (starting such a challenging diet at all proves that) and keep going - it is so worth it.

I lost 8.5 stone in six months last year with LL and then CD and I feel 2 million times better, fitter, healthier and more energetic. I read a thread on here before I started feeling envious of those posting saying how much weight they had lost when I hadn't even started and knowing I would never be like them. I am now lucky enough to be in that position and really want to offer encouragement and support - try and stick with it - you won't regret it and it will go quicker than you think.

The only downside is that I have swapped my addiction to chocolate for an addition to cosmetics, and doughnuts are much cheaper than Clarins . (Sorry again to thread crash - all the best to all of you)

mrspoppins · 10/01/2007 05:26

hammerheadshark gatecrash whenever you like...we need inspiration like you

gingernutlover..Tonbridge. Where are you?

meb2006 I was allowed vegetable from week one..perhaps different counsellors have slightly different ideas? What was your counsellor's reasonings?

on here again to prevent myself from cheating. Heard today on radio 4 that cravings of any sort only last for about 3 minutes and if you can distract yourself, you can get through them. Must say, it seems to work as until I wrote this bit of the post, I'd forgotten that I'd thought of eating...now I'm going for a shower to forget again!!!

xxKaren

thanks hammerheadshark that was just what I needed, sneaky peak on the scales reveals 9lbs lost and I am now on day 7. hope counsellors scales say the same

mrs poppins, I am in tunbridge wells, what a coincidence! I would say lets meet up for coffee and cake............... nice to know there is somone near me going through all of this too (apart from dh, who just keeps going on about how he will finish before me cos he is only on the cusp of being obese - hey thanks dh!)

bendigoblue · 10/01/2007 12:28

Well i'm back from meeting my counsellor with a weeks worth of soups & shakes, and since i'd only had water before I went to meet her, I can start today! DH is feeding the kids while i'm in here typing this bless him.
