think having something nice to look forward top really helps - the holiday sounds fantastic.

catsmother sorry to hear you have been so poorly. I am not trying to put you off but is it too soon to go back on CD? Are you back up to 100% fitness? I only ask as people s.times get a bit OTT with it (I am not saying you are) - my friend went in for an operation under general anathestic and did n't want to tell them she has lost 4 stone and had not eaten solid food for 4 months because she didn't think this was that important!!! How bloody stupid when this sort of thing effects the amount of anaesthetic they give you! Only just meant to say if you feel well they do it and if yu don't wait a few days....

meb2006 · 17/01/2007 15:57

I only pressed the button once honest!

meb2006 · 17/01/2007 15:58

catsmother I misred - you are starting on Monday - at least this gives you a chance to feel better - good luck for the restart and get better soon!

blimey I can't even spell now.. this should be I misread.

meb2006 · 17/01/2007 20:38

So boring with no one on here - went back to counsellor and begged for some bars - I said on my head be it if I don't loose any nest week. So had a delicious toffee malt today.

Now just hope I lose something. I appear to have put on 3lb today - maybe the amount of water I have drunk - hope that is all it is.

meb2006 · 18/01/2007 10:20

ok - I am starving - when is this supposed to get any easier?

bendigoblue · 18/01/2007 11:44

My stomoach still grumbles on and off, and i'm on day 9 with no slip ups so who knows! I'm not starving though, but what wouldn't I give for some fish and chips!

meb2006 · 18/01/2007 12:32

at least it is a bit easier with the bars - I get to "eat" s.thing.

meb2006 · 19/01/2007 10:51

has everyone given up now - I am at that point - just finding it too difficult.

where are you all gingernutlover snowwonder etc?

snowwonder · 19/01/2007 11:47

i am finding it really hard to had an apple yesterday , and i am thinking about allowing my self one day off a week as something to look foward to - but dont know if its a slippery slope?

bendigoblue · 19/01/2007 11:47

Don't give up Meb, it'll get easier and be worth it!

laughinglil · 19/01/2007 13:03

snowwonder please don't do that..you will only find it harder and your weight loss will take even longer because if you do allow one day to treat yourself you will knock yourself out of ketosis and then have the rest of the week getting back into it..its messing around with your body ..just keep going I promise it does get easier..soon the diet will just come naturally and hopefully you won't even be thinking about it. good luck!

meb2006 · 19/01/2007 13:37

I am calling it a day folks - just had some lunch - I have battled for 10 days now and I just don't have the willpower to do - which makes me fel v.bad. I am more then sure you will all succeed so I wish you the best - I just have to accept I am going to remain a fat person - you on the other hand will be slim and healthy. Good Luck!!!!

fussymummy · 19/01/2007 15:15

meb2006 Don't give up, just forget about what you had for lunch and carry on the day as normal.

I've had days where i thought i'd had enough, but i think i'd prefer to be slimmer!!!!!

That's what keeps me going on this tough journey.

I ate some potato today.

Was making a cheese and potato pie for the rest of the family and i couldn't resist it!!!

The day will now continue as it should've.

If you give up this easily, you'll regret it in the summer!!!!

Come back to us and continue.

catsmother · 19/01/2007 21:51

Yes .... one, or two, or even a few, slip-ups are really nothing in the greater scheme of things. You don't need to criticise yourself or feel that that's it, you can't carry on.

I've just had a whole week of eating (due to being ill as previously described) and goodness knows what effect that has had. However, I have already arranged to see my counsellor again on Tuesday and will continue from then.

Even if you "blip", I doubt it will completely wipe out the weight loss you've already achieved and that is surely worth congratulating yourself for. Undoubtedly, some people do seem to be able to do this diet more easily than others ..... but the same can be said of absolutely any other diet you care to name. A few blips may mean you reach goal a little later than you'd anticipated but in the vast majority of "blipper's" cases, I bet they still reach goal far sooner than on most other diets. Imagine how good it will feel to achieve your goal so comparatively soon - and once you're there, you can then work through the maintenance plan which should help us each individually to eat the right size portions etc.

Meb, there is NO reason why on earth you should remain a fat person because you gave in and had lunch one day.

Rubybees · 19/01/2007 22:15

I've been looking at doing the cambridge diet for a while, it all seems so hard though, headaches, feeling hungry

Arrrhhh I have 3 stone to lose, what about once you've reached your goal do you stop or carry on with bit of food along with the shakes etc.

I'm going to try and book in with a counsellor next week to get more info. Please help it sounds to good to be true

bendigoblue · 19/01/2007 22:29

Hi Rubybees! Welcome on board.

Once you get close to your goal weight you start to reintroduce food slowly so you can maintain. It's not the easiest thing in one respect because you miss food, but in another respect it is easier than other diets because you don't have to count calories, portion sizes etc, you just have your packs / bars and your water.

catsmother · 19/01/2007 22:32

Ruby, when you reach goal, or just before (I think it also works on BMI) you will go onto a so-called maintenance programme. Can't quite remember but think that lasts 6-8 weeks, where you gradually start re-introducing different foods - and extra calories - into your diet.

As I said before, I think the objective of this is to educate you in portion size and also to work out an optimum daily calorie requirement for you as an individual ... i.e. the amount you need to stay the weight you are, going neither up or down.

In some ways it is hard, but in others it's easier than other diets. For example, preparation couldn't be simpler, you don't have to shop, or weigh anything, and of course, its fast results are a great motivator. I admit I have never felt hungry but I have felt bored ...... however, my goal is achievable within another 2 months and I keep thinking of that.

juuule · 20/01/2007 13:07

I've 3 stone to lose, too. I've now completed my second week of ss. This is the easiest diet that I have been on. I have to say that I have had no headaches and have not felt hungry. As someone else said, preparation is easy. Which is great for me as I have a large family to cook/prepare food for and this way if I eat anything I know I've cheated. I can't kid myself.
The downside is that I do have food cravings and miss my food but hopefully the diet is breaking a few habits, too. I see my problem being when I have to introduce food back into my diet.

Rubybees · 21/01/2007 19:17

OKay then I've got the lady coming to see me tomorrow arrhh.

Been doing water and cut out my carbs over last week due to need to lose weight but finally admitted to myself I'm rather bigger than I think when I looked at LL web page and there BMI index shows a picture of your body and dh said that does look like you, thanks lol.

Let you know how I get on

meb2006 · 21/01/2007 19:25
