good luck with day 1. I did day 1 yesterday (again) - had lots of shakes last night while wstching that pipe cleaner Gillian Mckeith (I don't think that looks good being that thin) shout at fat people - I found it a very enjoyabke show and it is amazing how different people look when they have only lost 2 stones.

mrs poppins - she said no fruit flavourings or vegetable until week 3 as yo need to get into ketosis first - has no one else been told this - I would love a vegetable drink if not. Did anyone find out if Bouillion can be used?

bendigoblue · 10/01/2007 13:02

My counsellor said no fruit flavours or vegetable drink until week 2 as well, and the same for the bars. It does seem it varies from counsellor to counsellor. I used the vegetable boullion on LL when I did it but i'm not sure if I was supposed to tbh.

meb2006 · 10/01/2007 13:26

thanks - you just stopped me having one!

I woudl be interested if anyone has tried any soups what they think - I have had the veggie one - not bad with tons of black pepper and tabasco sauce.

fussymummy · 10/01/2007 13:27

My counsellor told me no bars for the first 2 weeks!!!
Was allowed to buy the mousse mix. (don't expect a light fluffy mousse, as you won't get one!!!! unless i made it wrong!)

And i was allowed to buy the fruit flavourings for drinks.
The berry one is lovely. Orange one is ok, but not as nice!
She told me the vegetable one is awful.

She also told me that you can get smelly breath on CD.

Said you can use fresh breath strips or mouth spray.
I told her that i had the sugar free 'smint' in the blue box, and she said that was ok.

bendigoblue · 10/01/2007 13:29

I've just had a fruits of the forest shake, it was ok, much the same as the LL ones really. I'm thinking i'll probably want more soups than shakes, especially with this grotty weather, warm soup seems more appealing some how.

fussymummy · 10/01/2007 13:29

I didn't like the veg soup.
Can just about manage the tomato one.
Tried the chilli one and it smelt as bad as it tasted.

Had banana shake today, that's nice.

fussymummy · 10/01/2007 13:30

You can make the shakes hot if you want to.

Chocolate, choc/mint, and cappucino are all nice hot.

laughinglil · 10/01/2007 13:40

The mousses are lovely..and should be light and fluffy..do not follow the instructions on the tub though..heres how I do it.

  • Fill a pyrex jug with around 150ml-170ml of water *Place in the freezer for 15-20 mins *remove the water Get your cambridge pack cut the top off. Add 1 scoop of mix a mousse into your cambridge pack and mix well so you can no longer see the mix a mousse powder. *Add the contents of your cambridge sachet into the ice cold water. *Blend together with a good blender ( a low watt blender will not work) *Blend for two mins or until thick and bubbles form on top.
  • Place back in the freezer for 15-20 mins.

There you go..hope this helps.. I love having a mix a mousse and this is the best way to make it.

fussymummy · 10/01/2007 13:51

Thanks for that laughinglil i'll try that later.

The one i had was made as per the instructions!!

Looked more like gloop!!!!!

meb2006 · 10/01/2007 15:02

were you talking about the vegetable savoury drink (i.e. not the shake) - very nice - bvtter then the soup!!

can't have bars for 2 weeks??? have NEVER heard of that - as long as you are in ketosis there is no reason you can't have them. that's if you want then. I loved them but some people just do the whole diet on the shakes. I shall certainly be having them on week 2.

laughinglil · 10/01/2007 16:25

the bars have saved me - lol. Another tip is to freeze a tetra brik (choc is best,I hate banana) for around 3 hours. Perfect for a evening ice cream..its yummy!

bendigoblue · 10/01/2007 21:35

Well the chicken and mushroom soup I had for tea was not bad at all, got one more pack to have so i'm going to have a hot choc/mint in a minute I think.

I'd forgotton how much having 4 litres of water means you have to pee!

My tummy is feeling a bit crampy, like its upset, anyone else get that?

fussymummy · 10/01/2007 23:07

meb2006 Yes i was talking about the veg savoury drink.
I was told it was awful.
Mind you, i was also told the veg soup was lovely and i thought it was disgusting.

Think i'll ask if i can have the bars when i go back on monday.
She definately said, no bars in the first 2 weeks.

One thing i have noticed is that my wee is really yellow (sorry if TMI), does anyone know if this is normal?

mrspoppins · 11/01/2007 03:43

fussymummy you must drink more!!! Either that or you've become radioactive!!!
Will definitely try the mousse idea laughinglil that sounds good.

Poor day today...got a really crappy cold which has plagued me all week squashing my resolve to a pulp.On here again at 3.42am as woke up and am stopping myself from cheating!!

fussymummy I think the veg savoury drink is really nice - maybe your counsellor will let you try a cup before you buy it - if not i am haooy to send you some in some clingfilm/ sandwich bag for you try - it is basically vegetable stock and believe me when you are hungry it is fantatsic

I water down all the milkshakes abit so get 2 glasses out of each - I had the cappacino last night - cold - wonderful - makes a nice change to the chocolate which is also good.

what is this about 4 litres of water - my counsellor told me to 2 litres but try to have more - has everyone else been told different?

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 10:55

or you can buy the veg bullion from the supermarket if you are watching the pennies like me!!!

bendigoblue · 11/01/2007 11:02

I was told 4 litres, the more you drink, the more you lose.

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 11:11

how much do you all pay per week was wondering if that was the same accross the country?

moonshine · 11/01/2007 11:22

Gingernutlover - how's it going? I do think this is the easiest diet I've done but it doesn't mean it still isn't bloody hard some of the time, especially in the first week. It takes me until week 2 to start feeling really positive and less hungry, so you are not weak!

I use Swiss Bouillon - one teaspoon a day - yum. I also always have my packs hot, but I only really like chocolate, vanilla and cappuccino atm - but your tastes do change. I'm also having a can of Coke Zero every now and then (it's ok apparently and it hasn't affected my weight loss) to help me get through it.

Some Counsellors out there are very very cautious - sheesh. Agree that bars are ok when you are in ketosis, or from week 2 to be safe. Never heard that about the vege stuff either.

SnowWonder - I pay £33 per week - think that's the norm?

bendigoblue · 11/01/2007 11:43

I pay £32.55 for a weeks supply. The sundries seem quite expensive...

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 11:47

is the price for milshakes and soups does it go up if you have the bars are the ready made ones,
i have done this before and stopped and i am hoping to do it again (i just emailed the counseller) for a final time, and hopefully with the support on here i will do it,

moonshine · 11/01/2007 11:55

I've never had the tetras but everything else is included in the same price. I don't buy any sundries from CD, but then if you add up what you normally spend on food for yourself then it is cheaper (well it is for me but I never stinted on snacks or such ).

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 12:07

are you currnetly doing the diet moonshine, can i please be nosy and ask how long you have been doing it?

and if you are able to disclose your weight lose, but i will understnad if you dont want to post it on a public forum!!

moonshine · 11/01/2007 12:18

I don't mind - think I bored everyone with my story further down. But briefly...did Lighterlife in 2005 and lost more than 8 stones, put over 3.5 stones (my own bad eating habits came back and had a crap counsellor who got sacked!) so switched to CD because it was cheaper and because I hope that I am a little wiser! I started this time round at 13st 11lbs and, to-date (day 10 for me) and now 12st 13lbs - hooray!

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 12:23

fantastic weight loss, thanks for that i should have looked further down the thread!!!!

i cant believe the difference in price between the 2 and such similar diets.
i am waiting to hear from the counseller, i am really keen to get started as soon as possible as i will prob put anaother stone on waiting to start trying to cram all my favourite foods in!!!

maybe i should just ring her instead of waiting for her to email!!
