Yes I put on weight, knowing that I would get it off quickly on CD and, first time round, because I knew I would be at least 6-8 months without food. If you have the number, ring! If your head is in the right zone, it really is a good diet if you have a lot to shift. But if you have food issues you must find support to deal with them now. Losing it can be quite easy but it's the maintaining which is where the real hard work begins! Your Counsellor may be able to help to a certain extent. Mine is nice but not really useful in that way but others can be fantastic at offering real emotional support. How much do you have to lose?

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 12:49

i have 3 stone to lose, have already lost 2.5 stone.
where do you get help with the emotional issuses surrounding food? like stopping eating wheni am not hungry!!

moonshine · 11/01/2007 12:56

It may not apply to you at all, but I think lots of people who are overweight know all about healthy eating but can be emotional eaters ie, using it when they feel sad/happy/depressed/bored etc. So when they reach their goal weight, they still have those underlying habits and it is then almost inevitable that the weight starts piling back on, and are back at square one - and I know how depressing yo-yo dieting is!
(sorry if I am not making much sense but my ds is not pleased with me being on the computer and is doing anything he can to distract me! Now I must go feed him).

fussymummy · 11/01/2007 13:05

Thankyou meb2006 thats kind of you.
I'll ask on monday if i can try some.
I was told i could drink black tea or coffee.
Black coffee is ok.
I will try watering the shakes down a bit, as well.

I pay just over £43 a week.
It costs more because i'm 5'8", and you're allowed 4 items per day if you're that height or over.

I was told to drink 2-4 litres a day, plus whatever you make any extra drinks or shakes out of.

I ran out of the cappucino shake, so i put a small amount of coffee into the chocolate shake and have it hot.
Tastes just as good.

meb2006 · 11/01/2007 14:18

oh that is no unfair - I would love to be tall - another benefit - 4 shakes!!

just wanted to say that my counsellor told me that on Feb 1 CD may be putting uo price of tetras bricks and bars - apparently they cost more to make and counsellors make nothing if for e.g. someone comes and gets 21 tetras - apparently won't be loads something like 20p per item. She does n't know if it is a definite yet though.

Do we know if the Boullion stuff is ok then rather then the CD version of it?

like the idea of the coffee - will try that in chocolate.

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 14:31

oh my goodness my counciller has managed to fit in seeing me tomorrow, so much for my week of stuffing my face!!!! don't know if starting at the weekend is such a good idea though being at work helps distract me!!! but than i think i may as well just start rather than putting on more weight over the next week,

meb2006 · 11/01/2007 14:40

go for it snowwonder - I definitely think the weekends are a bit harder so this may help you get started - carpe diem - seize the day!! we are all in the same boat.

bendigoblue · 11/01/2007 14:42

Oooooooh Snowwonder, thats exciting, start practicing drinking your water, and if you can its good to reduce your carbs before you start, makes the withdrawl easier. I think you should just go for it while you're motivated!

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 14:50

yes you are right, how do you space your water through the day,

so i wont eat in the morning before i go, then i can start...

have you had headaches at the beggining as if i dont eat for a long period of time i get a headache

fussymummy · 11/01/2007 20:48

snowonder Good luck!

I started CD last friday. This week has got to be the worst week possible for me to start anything!

New Year, no food diet, time of the month and this saturday is the 7th anniversary of when my son was stillborn.

I have felt like crap for most of this week, but i really am pleased that i have started this diet.

I'm doing it for myself and for my children.

That is what has kept me going.

Today, i have really craved food, but i really do think it's more for comfort than anything else!

snowwonder · 11/01/2007 20:55

you have done fantastic then considering what a bad week it was to start the plan, you must feel really proud of yourself,

have you weighed yourself since you started?

how much do you want to lose?

you will do it!!

fussymummy · 11/01/2007 21:11

Thanks snowonder.

Have lost 6 pounds.

I have loads to lose.

If i can lose 7 stone i'll be really happy.

Would maybe try to lose the last couple of stone after that, but i can't think that far ahead just yet.

I'm just taking one day at a time!!!!

meb2006 · 11/01/2007 23:04

I am already totally confused about who is who and what stage everyone is at so I thought I would say good luck to all as we begin or carry on beginning this diet - let's just go for it.

moonshine · 12/01/2007 10:13

Fussymummy - hope it's going well for you and glad you are doing something for yourself.

I got headaches for the first 3 days or so - think it's the carbs withdrawal.

I drink at least 4l water because it does (apparently) help with a quicker weight-loss (and I get really thirsty anyway). I drink the majority of it by about 5pm and just about 1l in the evening - it's bad enough having to go to the loo in the middle of the night without having to do it 10 times!

Yes Swiss Bouillon is ok to use!

We had an attempt to get everyone to write down their stats but it didn't really work. We could have purely a stats thread which is updated once a week or less?

Day 11 for me and feel established...doesn't mean I still don't crave stuff but I know it's mainly in my head (I have a bad habit of always going to the kitchen if I'm bored or p**d off and am working on breaking that!).

bendigoblue · 12/01/2007 12:34

It's very quiet, is everyone drowning in their water?

Day three here, splitting headache . On the plus side, my ketostix were definately pink this morning so that makes me feel better!

I'm glad about the boullion, I could really go for a nice hot veggy drink!

meb2006 · 12/01/2007 13:17

dsn't need to necessarily have to be statistics - I may make my own list - it's just things like who has done it before, who has been on it for weeks etc; just so I know who is who when I reply to posts. I am sure it is just me - my brain is like a sieve!

meb2006 · 12/01/2007 19:39

am wavering here - finished day 4 and scales say only lost 2 lb - so disappointed. I have not cheated at all. I know weight can move at any tim e but a bit demotivating.

moonshine · 12/01/2007 19:49

Meb, don't give up! Loook at it logically - just to lie in bed 24 hours a day your body needs at least 1500 cals and you are only taking in c.500 - the laws of science say you have to be losing weight! What does fluctuate is water which is susceptible to totm, stress, hormones etc etc. It's very rare that people lose in a neat regular way. Mostly it's in fits and starts. If you have been 100% on it then you will be fine.

Sorry have to go and put kids to bed!

bendigoblue · 12/01/2007 20:38

meb2006 Have a motivational hug, you're doing great, it'll get easier. I'm telling myself the same thing as i'm flagging today, just want to put something in my mouth!

meb2006 · 12/01/2007 21:58

Blimey I am now absolutely starving - tummy going mad. I thought it was meant to get easier on day 4?

laughinglil · 12/01/2007 22:18

day 4 is normally the worst..you'll feel better by monday meb2006! Think of the positives picture yourself in the summer..in nice clothes and feeling so much happier.
I have hung a pair of jeans up on the outside of my wardrobe that are my goal. I want to get back in them. Every morning, I wake up and see my jeans and it motivates me to keep going because I know at one point I was in those jeans. Could you try doing the same?
Also make sure you take a picture of yourself..because on this diet it takes a while for your head to catch up to your body and realise how different you look even with 10lb off!
Wishing you all the luck hun!

meb2006 · 12/01/2007 22:37

thanks v much - have taken myself to bed to watch big brother - it will be morning soon and then I can start day 5. Have a good weekend everyone.

bendigoblue · 13/01/2007 13:55

I'm on the dreaded day 4.... definately in ketosis now, sticks are very pink and my mouth tastes like a builders armpit! On the plus side, I reckon i've lost about 6lbs give or take, so its working at least!

juuule · 13/01/2007 19:37

Day 7 for me and my weight is down by 8lbs I'm really happy about it and ready for next week now.
Let's keep it up everyone

snowwonder · 13/01/2007 19:51

hi everyone, i start the diet tomorrow!!!!!!
i am really excited about the prospect of losing weight but i am also dreading how i am going to do it?????

I am thinking of making charts that include the days i do and the pounds i lose to try and keep me on track has anyone else done this?

i keep trying to tell myself that it will only hopefully be till easter (3 stone to lose) i weigh 15 stone at the moment, and 12 stone for me will be a size 14 which i would happily stay at!!

and time passes so quickly i hope the time on the diet will fly by

i am just worried about going from having loads of food to none, i am also worried about all the food in the house i have 2 girls and obviously i have to do food for them

any coping tips greatly appreciated
