Anyone heard anything about Shosha? Ledodgy? That is so weird. I notice the little "luggage label" symbol, which means she has a profile on Mumsnet, is gone too.

Well done Firefly on getting your stone and you too Ledodgy on moving into the next stone down!

fireflyfairy2 · 01/03/2007 10:08

She's changed her name to shoshalee

Sparkler1 · 01/03/2007 18:30

me23 · 02/03/2007 13:30

Hi, I've heard people mention sw chips, are these homemade? can someone give me a recipe?

I've been doing ok, but my sweet tooth is raging.

also how many syns should I be having does it depend on your weight?

janiejones · 02/03/2007 14:39

Hi I am new to all this but have been doing SW and have lost just over two stone so far. The first two stone seem to fall off me loosing approx 2 to 3lb every week but seemed to have slowed down a bit since Xmas!!

I have put on 2lb in the last two weeks but have not been really bad, But I have just stopped BF did anyone else found that gained weight when stopping?

Sparkler1 · 02/03/2007 16:07

Preheat oven to 170 oC

Peel 2 large potatoes cut into chip shapes and place to boil in water for 6-8 mins.
SLIMMING WORLD CHIPS

Place some tinfoil on a baking tray, and cover in fry light (the one cal spray)

Drain off potatoes, leave to stand for 2-3 mins then place on baking tray and spray them with fry light.

Place in oven for 30-45 mins, frequently turning.

Once chips are golden brown and crisp, remove and serve.

These chips are actually free on a green day, as they are just plain potatoes, not cooked in fat.

To add a bit of flavour, season with pepper before placing in oven.

wizzywig · 02/03/2007 16:10

hi all. ive just joined SW this week and am trying to find some stodgy free food on the green plan. does anyone have any ideas? also can pasta and sauce is free, do people make it with water?

fireflyfairy2 · 02/03/2007 23:32

I make the pasta & sauce using the milk from my HEa allowance
Stodgy food free on green.. hmm.. an omelette? Chips, beans & fried egg?? Suppose it depends on what you define as stodgy. Cottage pie made from quorn would be filling too I suppose

I don't think the amount of syns you eat has anything to do with the weight you are.. I think it just depends on how many you want/need. I think the point of them is that you use them if you need them & don't feel guilty

fireflyfairy2 · 02/03/2007 23:34

For a sweet tooth, just slice up some pineapple, strawberries & sweet grapes... I sometimes sprinkle a little sweetner or lemon juice over the top of the fruit, it's great for a sweet tooth. Or some rice pudding, made with the milk from your daily allowance, use sweetner or cinamon or whatever tickles your fancy

wizzywig · 03/03/2007 12:40

thanks firefly for the stodgy food ideas, im off to sainsburys to get some quorn and pudding rice.

SHOSHAlee · 03/03/2007 12:46

Looby Im still here had major PC probs so had to deregister and reregister! lost 5lb this week

me23 · 03/03/2007 13:17

Thanks for the chip recipe sparkler1 and the sweet free foods fireflyfairy2
I have bought some pineapple and strawberries will make a fruit salad to munch on.

Think I have to stop liking chocolate so much

I'm weighing myself for the first time on monday, I don't feel as if I've lost anything.

well done on the 5lbs shoshalee

fireflyfairy2 · 03/03/2007 14:14

Well done Shoshalee!!! Excellent!! Wish I could shift that much in a week!

I'm heading out for a meal tonight & am slightly worried about it. I am not drinking so hopefully that will save a few syns!

SHOSHAlee · 03/03/2007 16:34

I dont tho Firefairy2, i wont lose anything one week then 5 the next or 1 one week and 4 the next weird! it works out a a average of 2.5 poundds a week Ive lost so far!

fireflyfairy2 · 03/03/2007 17:32

That's fantastic average! Mine is about half a pound!!!

lurcherlass · 03/03/2007 18:36

Boy, have I missed this thread! My laptop went away for repair and for 10 days I was cut off from the rest of the world! I've put on 4.5 pounds, I'm sick of Quorn and Muller lite yogurts and I'm in rebellion. Just spent half an hour reading all the posts from where I left off and there's some great tips to get me (re)started. Must try the Rustic chips as I'm bored to death of jacket potatoes. Mother-in-law brought us some black pudding and white pudding from Ireland, which lurk in the fridge whispering my name.....Quick- everyone kick my arse at once!!!

loobysmum · 03/03/2007 21:20

Hi Shosha - glad everything is OK (pc problems notwithstanding!). What a bunch of mother hens we are!! And Lurcherlass - I was wondering where you had gone! Welcome back, and consider your arse kicked!!! (Which is rich, coming from someone who is just about to tuck into chicken tikka masala made with Asda's own sauce .... THIRTY SEVEN AND A HALF!!!!!!! syms per jar ). Ah well, it is Saturday. And I'm not drinking wine. And I'll have less than half of it. If I keep going I can not only talk myself into it but make it sound virtuous too (hee hee!)
