Mammemma, you could have some of my willpower.......if I could find it myself

Welcome beadmum!

fireflyfairy2 · 20/02/2007 18:23

Welcome beadmum

It's pancake day!!!!!!!!!!!!

My man is going to make the kids some after dinner.... I think I might have to hide on the livingroom! [How many syns would be in one anyway?]

chickiedee · 20/02/2007 19:18

Hi, please can I join? I started SW in January and went to classes for a couple of weeks and then stopped. Want to start back on SW but am going to go it alone so would appreciate the moral support! Would like to loose at least a stone before I go back to work in April so I can be back to my pre-baby weight!

Rooicosta · 21/02/2007 11:34

Haven't been on here for ages, sorry ladies, just haven't been in the right frame of mind to stick to plan and didn't want to pass my negativity onto anyone else! Anyway, I'm firmly back on track now and rather enjoying it...in a weird way!

Well, it's the start of Lent and I've given up eating out (one of my worst vices over the past couple of months and V. expensive) and sweets. Hopefully, that will help my waist-line and get me back on plan!! Does anyone else do Lent and if so, what have you given up?

Sparkler1 · 21/02/2007 12:15

Hello!
Ok - so this thread title is split into two, friendly support and kick up the backside. Can I have one huge kick up my huge backside please? I've been really really naughty this week. Haven't stuck to plan at all and have slipped back into my bad ways both in the day and the evening. My "star" week (as they call it at SW is due next week so whether I am wanting to eat more because of that I don't know. Am feeling a bit "low" because of it and therefore eating more.

loobysmum · 21/02/2007 12:43

Welcome back Rooicosta . Its good to see you back! That wedding is getting closer so you have a fantastic incentive - good luck! Welcome Chickiedee - a few of the girls don't manage to get to class and have a "weigh-in" on line, on a Tuesday I think. You'll get lots of support from them and everyone else. FFF2, I saw a recipe for SW pancakes - maybe in the mag? Can't remember - if I find it I'll post it ..... a little late, but pancakes taste good at ANY time (unfortunately!)

A friend of mine says she tries to give up celibacy for Lent each year ......

Rooicosta · 21/02/2007 12:53

Hi Sparkler! I am sooooo bad at eating the wrong type of food prior to my * week. It's mine next week too but I'm feeling okay at the moment. I take a herb called Agnus Castus which regulates your hormones. I swear by it and last month I didn't take it and had the worst period ever! I've been back on it again this month and like I said, I'm feeling heaps better. Chromium supplements are also good for controlling sugar cravings.

I know what you mean about needing a kick up the backside though as I've needed one for months now. I'm finally getting back on track though and feeling much better for it. Remember, the rewards for following this plan are successful weight loss, feeling healthier and beaming confidence!

Put down those nasties, pick up the foods that are packed with nutritional goodness and munch away to your hearts content. The benefits will show within days!

Now all I need to do is follow my own advice lol!

Rooicosta · 21/02/2007 12:57

Thanks Loobysmum for the warm welcome, I can't believe you remembered about my wedding! Time is ticking fast...!

Love the celibacy line, hee, hee!

Welcome too Chickiedee!!

fireflyfairy2 · 21/02/2007 20:08

Oops!!! I stayed the same this week!

ledodgyDave · 21/02/2007 22:00

Omg I lost half a pound which isn't that great but considering I thought i'd put on at least 7 pounds isn't bad going! Am deternined to lose 3 pounds this week so I get my 3.5 stone award!

fireflyfairy2 · 21/02/2007 22:45

I need to lose 2lb to get my stone!! I have lost almost 2 stone, but the first stone was at ww!

Sparkler1 · 22/02/2007 10:01

What temperature does the oven have to be for Smash pizza please? I have a fan assisted electric oven.
Weigh in for me tonight - I have had a really bad week. Making sure I push myself to get weight tonight though. I could quite easily stay home but I know I want to lose weight so must go.

katylou25 · 22/02/2007 12:20

weighed in last night and lost 2 lb so was really chuffed - that makes 11 lb in 6 weeks so not bad going.

Oh password is swimming for whoever wanted it.

fireflyfairy2 · 22/02/2007 22:40

Well done!!

Sparkly, sorry I don't know what temp the oven needs to be. I have never made the smash pizza.

How did your weigh in go??

Sparkler1 · 23/02/2007 08:48

OMG!! Weigh in was terrible. I put on 3 1/2lbs!!! I have been really bad all week - slipped back into old habits of eating big bars of choccie and drinking loads of wine. We also went out for an indian one night. I took the girls to Burger King yesterday afternoon and finished off the food they didn't eat - and did it knowing that I had to get weighed . Not sure where my motivation had gone. I did have jeans on at weigh in, which I don't normally wear, as was going on a meet up afterwards but that's not enough to blame the weight gain on. Could also blame my star week as due on any day but that doesn't normally affect me so can't blame that either.
New day today - I have put a note on my fridge door saying "Be good, Lose weight. No eating naughties from the fridge!" I'm going shopping tonight as well so can stock up on all the right stuff. I need to have a really good week.

fireflyfairy2 · 23/02/2007 09:56

Sparkler, would it help if you chopped up a lot of fruit & put it in a bowl to keep in the fridge for when you feel like snacking??

I have started to do that & it'd great that the fruit is sat ready waiting for me to eat, I don't have any decisions to make regarding what I will eat!!

I want to have 2lb off this week to get to my stone goal. MIL had 3.5lb off & got her stone award on Wed night & she hasn't been going as long as me!

Plus, the first week of the sponsered slimathon & I stayed the same!!! ( at myself!)

fireflyfairy2 · 23/02/2007 09:57

Shosha, that was a good bit of maintaining you managed then!!! Glad you had a ball over your birthday!!!

Sparkler1 · 23/02/2007 18:35

Hi FFF2 - yes I definitely need to do things like that. I know exactly why I piled on the weight last week. My motivation took a huge tumble in the wrong direction but I'm feeling more positive again. Definitely makes a difference going back to group - although didn't stay right through last night as left early for MN meet up. I would love to get that 3 1/2 lb off this week - it can be done I have lost more than that before when doing SW previously (this is my fourth attempt at the plan). I just need to be focused and organised and I will be fine.
Been a good day today - not even going to have wine tonight - bought myself some sugar free fizzy instead for tonight.

Sparkler1 · 23/02/2007 21:16

Have had a really good day today. Chose a green day and goodness me does my body know it. Lots of rumblings going on in my stomach and further down south. Had jacket potato with baked beans and salad for lunch and stir fry veg with quorn sausages for tea. I think DH will be sleeping in DD's room tonight. Can't say I'd blame him!

peachespaige · 24/02/2007 11:00

Hello, I wondered if I could join you? I have been doing sw for a little while and had lost roughly 7lbs but have just come back from Barcelona and have put it all back on again. I feel so cross with myself because I cant get motivated and keep eating things that I know i shouldnt.
I have a stone to lose so not much but boy am I finding it hard.
Also struggling to limit the red wine on a weekend!!
Anyway sorry to introduce myself and whinge straight away.
Well done on all your losses and good luck.

Beadmum · 24/02/2007 12:04

welcome peachespaige

did my weigh in this morning (im not attending a class and weigh myself on sat mornings) only half pound off this week. was a little disappointed but keep trying to think its better off than on
Have been keeping a food diary and i did have too many sins 4 days out of 7 so lucky i lost at all, does it matter if you have only a couple of green days a week? noticed i had more red than green
