I want to lose a stone, a bit more would be fab but 1stone would still be amazing and still hard work.

I am going to write on here regularly and put how much I weigh, what crap I ate, what worked and what the struggles are.

Does anyone not have loads to lose but just roughly a stone for an upcoming event/ wedding/ baby weight/ post op etc, That needs to be supported but also told off if you eat to many crisps or chocolate?

If so, put your weight and why you want to lose a stone and let's get rid of the belly!!

16:8 is when you fast for 16 hours and only eat in an 8 hour window each day
I don't don't eat my first meal until 12:30/1pm and then nothing after 8pm
I'm treating it more as 'skipping breakfast' at the moment, but you are supposed to eat your full daily calories in the 8 hour window
I have a friend who is a £200 a hour personal trainer in a celebrity gym, and he suggested it to me so I'm giving it a go
It is supposed to work better than 5:2 and I know some people who have had great results from that

JessicaJones · 09/01/2016 13:54

I've just had avocado toast for lunch (bang up to the minute with my food fads me). It was very tasty, and felt all nutritious and stuff, but I'm not sure it's very diet-friendly. And we're having pizza for dinner so I'm not sure this is going to be a very low-cal day. Homemade pizza though, so at least I can make it small/thin base/not much cheese and limit the damage.

I might get to the gym later as well.

Notsoskinnyminny · 09/01/2016 15:18

Thanks Mrstumbletap I was very good and didn't have a drop of wine last night but did have the last hero Grin

I've been drinking hot water and lemon all week as I never have time to finish a hot drink and wanted to cut down on the amount of milk I have. I always used to drink it but got out of the habit a while back and have noticed my coffee consumption starting to creep up although nowhere near my 12+ cups a day habit before I gave up caffeine a couple of years ago.

I've just planned next week's meals based on what's lurking in the garage freezer and being skint after xmas so:

S - mystery mixed grill (random chops/sausages/unknown meat)
S - pork filet
M - lamb shoulder
T - leftover lamb
W - chicken
T - leftover chicken
F - fresh steak Grin

The lamb and chicken can be bunged in the slowcooker, sadly without Wine and I'll make another pan of soup for my work lunches Grin

twobambinos · 09/01/2016 16:33

Welcome dexy wedding is a good motivator.
Avocado toast sounds healthy but prob not low cal but it is Good fats isn't it.
Mystery grill sounds interesting. I had halloumi salad for dinner last night and the leftovers for lunch/brunch today.

Also did a 10km run for the first time in 3 months today so while it was slow I'm well pleased with myself. Had a slice of homemade seed bread with butter after.
Im off now to plan the menus for next week and trying to incorporate new things too for a bit of variety.

sparechange that's an impressive weight loss - two days to go to weigh in and today I'm not hopeful for any loss - seems giving up alcohol and running is not enough Hmm

In fairness I need to get beyond 4K and avoid the Christmas chocs altogether but given how many hours I've felt deprived I should look positively stick like Grin

ProjectPerfect · 09/01/2016 19:18

two nice work with the 10k - that's my goal, to build up to 10k by end of March. Never run that far in my life, so no idea if that's realistic

LazySusan11 · 09/01/2016 20:46

I'd like to join in, I'm 12st 10lbs and I cannot seem to lose a lb which knocks any motivation I might of had.

I'm pretty healthy in the main my issue is chocolate and snacking.

I need to step away from the chocolate and eat 3 meals a day no snacking. I need to be held accountable really though dh tried helping me and I just got annoyed at him.

I feel like I'm destined to fail before I've begun and I don't know what small change to go with first!

Tomorrow I will not snack!

Miloarmadillo1 · 09/01/2016 21:39

Have you tried MFP, susan ? I found having to write down the calories in everything for a while really made me think whether I needed that chocolate, particularly if that would push me over my limit for the day.

Miloarmadillo1 · 09/01/2016 21:41

Yesterday wasn't great for me - we had a rep bring us lunch into work, so I had a sandwich, but did eat red (yay, sirtfood) grapes instead of the cakes. DH cooked dinner as I worked late which was curry and rice - not exactly diet food!
Never mind, back on the wagon today - Thai steamed fish and pak choi for dinner, and bloody lovely it was too!

MrsSimonNeil · 10/01/2016 08:07

Well done to those that have lost weight! I got on the scales this morning and I'm 2lb down even though I've only neen counting my calories for a few days! I just hope it doesn't go back on Shock

jessica have you tried making a cauliflower base pizza? I really like them and it's no more effort than making regular pizza.

Can anyone recommend an alternative to crisps? These are my downfall

SevenNationArmy · 10/01/2016 10:32

I ate half a takeaway pizza last night, whoops. Oh well, today is a new day! Mrssimonneil I've given up trying to find a replacement to crisps and now just eat the walkers less than 100kcal ones, like wotsits or quavers, at least they then feel like a treat!

Notsoskinnyminny · 10/01/2016 10:49

I get velvet crunch (80-90 call a bag). I only buy them when they're on offer or they've got them in poundland. The chilli ones are delicious and 1/2 a bag can satisfy my crisp cravings when I'm being really good Grin

NewYearNewNickname · 10/01/2016 10:59

Good day yesterday food wise, only 811 cals. Breakfast was a portobello mushroom with rocket and a poached egg on top, lunch was a veggie sausage sandwich with red onion chutney and dinner was a Quorn fillet with carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. Was trying to be really good so I could go out without worrying about undoing it all. Had a lovely evening not even thinking about dieting and I must have burnt off some calories with the 1 - 2 hrs dancing Grin
Resisting the urge to weigh again today, am going to try and wait until Friday. Am now going to meal plan for the week, and suggestions?

sofato5miles · 11/01/2016 16:04

Good three days in a row. Did just under 1000 cals a day and at least an hour of exercise each day too. Weigh in tomorrow.. Not another thing, other than water shall pass my lips tonight.

sofato5miles · 11/01/2016 16:06

Foodwise, i'm loving cauliflower rice in the evenings with something like a light veggie home made curry or chicken stew. I also went googled BBC Good food and under 400 cals to get some tasty meal suggestions.

Mrstumbletap · 11/01/2016 20:57

I like the sound of that 16:8 and is kind of what I do now, I don't really eat breakfast, but trying to limit it to 8 hours is interesting, I think i could do it.

Chilli velvet crunch I'm going to look out for them, they sound nice, I usually eat wotsits as they are low in cal but still taste good. Small tuna roll for lunch today and chicken stir fry for dinner so really good, then ate half a chocolate orange after dinner!!! What is bloody wrong with me?! Aaaahhh!! Angry

A good day for me today, and another 1.5lb off so now 9st8! Extra motivation to go to yoga today, feeling very achy now!

Wings13 · 11/01/2016 22:03

Hi all, glad I found this thread! Started today to eat more healthily. Had a spinach, almond milk, cucumber and ginger smoothie for brekkie. Lunch was carrs craxkera with lettuce, cucumber ( I love it!) and chicken and snack of oat cakes with peanut butter. Had a normal dinner of steak with croquettes (5) and veg and just had an options hot choc for a treat. Oh and 6 squares of dark choc (70% so the good stuff) as it was hanging around in work. Am trying to drink green tea and lots of water in work. Am a real snacker and love crisps so glad I managed to avoid them today! I am 5 ft 6 and weigh around 11st 13. Want to lose at least a stone by summer as don't want to be the fat pasty mum by the pool. Have a v full on stressful job so am trying to be organized so I don't make bad choices which I can do when stressed. Haven't read the rest of the thread but will on commute tomorrow. Now going to sleep before before I raid the goodie press!!

ProjectPerfect · 12/01/2016 06:32

Bad week for me: I've run more than I ever have in my life, eaten more salad than I thought possible and not touched a drop of alcohol, the return for which had been a pathetic 1lb loss.

It's really difficult not to dive face first into a box of chocolate after that Angry

NewYearNewNickname · 12/01/2016 07:22

Project I know it can be really difficult when the loss isn't as big as you would like it to be. What has helped me when I have been disappointed in the past is to actually weigh out 1lb of something on the scales. I always find it heavier than I thought it would be. Also remember that at least your weight is going in the right direction and try not to get too disheartened Flowers(easier said than done I know!!)

sofato5miles · 12/01/2016 07:28

5lbs. Had to triple check to make sure.

JessicaJones · 12/01/2016 08:18

Blimey sofa, is that just in a week? Not surprised you triple checked!

I had a rubbish day yesterday, trying to counteract it today. I have a question though - if I did a class at the gym that made me ache for two days afterwards is that a good thing or a bad thing? It was a good class, hard work, but I can't face the gym still! Slightly counterproductive maybe...

sofato5miles · 12/01/2016 09:31

You are supposed to ache jessica make sure you do another session today. It gets 3asier and easier. I did 40 squats last weds and could barely get in and out of my chair on Thursday. Did them again Friday, through the initial discomfort and then did 80 on Monday in 4 sets and was absolutely fine.

ProjectPerfect · 12/01/2016 10:38

Thanks newyear I'm going to be super strict this week - none of those Christmas chocs that crept in over the past week. I really need something to kick start me.

On a plus side I ran without stopping my first ever 5km this morning so I'm happy about that.

sofa that's amazing - what plan are you following? Well done Smile

JessicaJones · 12/01/2016 10:40

I'm used to the standard gym muscle usage, but today and yesterday I've had to lower myself onto the toilet because my hamstrings couldn't take it! Grin Just walking at pace while following the dc on scooters was painful, let alone hitting the treadmill...

It's probably my fault for not stretching enough, though the instructor did take us through a reasonable cool down. I've got pilates booked for tomorrow so I think I'll leave it til then.
