I want to lose a stone, a bit more would be fab but 1stone would still be amazing and still hard work.

I am going to write on here regularly and put how much I weigh, what crap I ate, what worked and what the struggles are.

Does anyone not have loads to lose but just roughly a stone for an upcoming event/ wedding/ baby weight/ post op etc, That needs to be supported but also told off if you eat to many crisps or chocolate?

If so, put your weight and why you want to lose a stone and let's get rid of the belly!!

Fajitas sounds good! Might be a plan for tomorrow's dinner...

sofato5miles · 06/01/2016 05:28

Up early today and had a black coffee and meticulously weighed out fruit, yoghurt and chia seeds. Doing my excercises now before the kids wake up.

twobambinos · 06/01/2016 12:19

Well done every one. Today is officially the last day of Christmas I believe so out for dinner tonight I will weigh in tomorrow and start properly. Have plenty of healthy food ready to go. I got a new cookbook for Christmas so will be making recipes from that. Just having my lunch multiseed roll with goats cheese spinach and red onion. And a cup of tea. Had no brekkie today as was running round the house trying to clean it up its getting there but Rome wasn't built in a day. This year I am trying to declutter and get rid of stuff we don't use. We have way too much stuff.

Miloarmadillo1 · 06/01/2016 13:11

Very virtuous sofa well done.

I had a bad night with DD last night, was worried that she couldn't cope with second-hand kale, but I think in fact she has more teeth coming.

Porridge, seeds and blueberries for breakfast, several cups of tea (need caffeine today!)
Green sirt goop and a banana for lunch.
Chicken marinating for fajitas tonight, planning to serve tortillas with spicy chicken, onion and pepper, plus rocket, avocado and tomatoes. Yum!

Miloarmadillo1 · 06/01/2016 13:13

Ah, yes, the well known thirteenth day of Christmas bambinos
Enjoy your meal out!

ProjectPerfect · 06/01/2016 14:56

Yesterday no breakfast and then chicken salad for lunch and spicy chicken salad for dinner.

and three Christmas chocolates

I'm drinking gallons and gallons of sparkling water to try and stave of the inevitable hunger pangs

ProjectPerfect · 06/01/2016 14:58

Totally hectic day at work that saw me shoving chicken (sans salad this time) in my mouth between meetings Shock

Dinner is out at a burger type place tonight (DCs choice) God knows what I'll find to eat

perpetuallybewildered · 06/01/2016 15:09

Hi, mind if I join you? I'm about the same height & weight as you OP and I know what a huge difference a stone makes to how I look and feel.

I'm not sure that my head is in the right place just yet but perhaps if I keep popping in I'll get there.

Today I've had cockaleekie soup and a ham sandwich plus two choc chip biscuits for lunch. I've prepared Nigella's chorizo chicken for dinner and will try to lay off chocolate tonight.

sofato5miles · 06/01/2016 16:24

I'm 5'5" and 13 stone. How the fuckery fuck did that happen! Target is 11'5" by summer.

sparechange · 06/01/2016 17:56

Hi, can I join?
5'5" and as of this morning, 11.8
I spent most of the last 18 months pregnant, having IVF or miscarrying, and have managed to put on nearly 2 stone in that time
My target is to get a stone off by March, when I'll be having my next IVF round.
To get back into my old jeans, I would need to get back under 10 stone, but at the moment, that seems too difficult, so I'm aiming for a stone first

I'm going to do this with a low carb 16:8, plus walking my 3 mile commute most days, with 1 run and 1 hiit session per week, building up to more each month. My last miscarriage was a couple of days before Christmas, so aware than my body is still a bit fragile so I don't want to start off too hard, but equally don't want to make too many excuses for myself

MegBusset · 06/01/2016 18:12

Hi, can I join please? I'm 5ft 3.5, was 9st 11lb after Christmas and would like to get as close to 9st as possible - though would be happy with 9st 4ish. Thanks to a tummy bug I'm down to 9st 9lb but need encouragement to keep going!

I work and have no time for gym or anything but try to go for a long walk every weekend and walk to school etc. My downfall is wine and I feel much better if I don't have too much wheat or dairy.

Today I'm still recovering from the bug so have eaten fairly simply:

Oatibix with rice milk
Veg soup and Ryvita
Apple
Quiche, new potatoes and salad for tea

I normally don't eat this lightly though!

SevenNationArmy · 06/01/2016 20:28

Welcome sparechange, so sorry for your losses, I hope you're being kind to yourself Thanks

Today has been reasonable apart from the 2 slices of delicious white toast with real butter at lunch, but I did do an hour at the gym so I think they're cancelled out! I had curry for dinner so overall not too bad.

sparechange · 06/01/2016 21:44

Today's tally: avocado, beetroot and salmon salad for lunch, an avocado for an afternoon snack Blush because I was too lazy to walk to a shop and get anything else, and that's all I had in the fridge at work, then sausages and broccoli with spiralized courgettes tonight. And about 40 cups of hot water and lemon, which my personal trainer mate told me is good as an appetite suppressant.
I ran walked about 3.5 miles. It was slow but got my heart rate up.

Question to everyone - how often are you going to weigh yourself? Do you have a daily/weekly/monthly loss target?

NewYearNewNickname · 06/01/2016 22:37

Can I join too please. I'm between 5"5 & 5"6 and on Sat I weighed 10st 11lbs which is my heaviest ever (with the exception of pregnancies obviously!!) In fairness it was the day before TOTM so not the best time to weigh but still pretty shocking Sad
I really want my weight to start with a 9 which it hasn't in quite a while but I am very determined to get there by Easter which gave me 12 weeks from last weekend.
It was my birthday yesterday so I wasn't that good calorie wise, the three cocktails won't have helped Grin but otherwise I have been really good. I ran on Sat and Mon (running may be a slightly over optimistic description!) and was quite active yesterday (dog walk, walk into town, short cycle with the children) but it is the weekends I will definitely find the hardest. I am out this Sat for a joint birthday celebration with another friend and I am already trying to plan for that.
I'm using mfp and my user name is PeasandCucumbers if anyone wants to add me as a friend.
Good luck everyone, I think having a smaller amount to lose is harder in many ways as it is easier to lose motivation and convince yourself that it is not that important as you're not overweight, even if you are at the very top of healthy!!

sofato5miles · 07/01/2016 07:33

Myfitnesspalling everything but not adding excercise. Targeting 1100 a day for 5 weeks ( a reunion) and then will go up to 1400 until 28lbs are gone.

Feeling very sprightly today. Started with a poached egg on wholemeal and will have tuna salad for lunch.

twobambinos · 07/01/2016 10:28

Exercise done for the day. Will do a bit of house cleaning later too to bulk it up. Raspberries and natural yoghurt for brekkie. Not sure what lunch will be yet. Must have a think

Happy birthday newyear and welcome

Sparechange I'm going to weigh in once a week So this morning I weigh 9St 8. Have a party in 3 weeks and I know even a few pounds off at this weight would make the world of difference so I'm hoping I'll be looking back in 3 or 4 weeks and be a lot closer to 9 stone

ProjectPerfect · 07/01/2016 14:46

I way once a week on a Monday morning total lie I weigh every day but I delete the figures

I have a fit bit and the aria scales and seeing the body fat drop is really motivating - far more so than the lbs which can fluctuate depending on so many things

ProjectPerfect · 07/01/2016 14:49

I need to get back into habit of MFP - it makes tracking really easy and I get a real kick in coming in under my target. Which like you sofa is 1100 for the moment.

ProjectPerfect · 07/01/2016 14:52

I also read that -3500 calories = I lb of fat loss.

So since I'm doing dry Jan I reckon I should lose a lb a week just from no alcohol 😱😱

sparechange · 07/01/2016 15:34

Just been out for a work lunch. I checked the menu early (before I was hungry) for the sensible choices, then stuck to them when I got there AND said no to the chocolates that arrived with the coffee. Feeling very virtuous Grin
Tonight's challenge is no booze at some leaving drinks, and leaving early enough that I can walk at least part of the way home.
I'm going to do a day 5 weigh in tomorrow morning...

Miloarmadillo1 · 07/01/2016 17:57

Welcome newbies. sparechange I've had 4MC and it is shit. Flowers

So-so day today. Porridge for breakfast some people have no imagination was rushed at lunch and had pesto pasta, but no cheese, and extra tomatoes and steamed veg. Dinner was a SW recipe for paprika chicken, rice and peas.

I'm planning to weigh in weekly, on Friday morning since I started 1st Jan, and have a target of 1lb a week.

NewYearNewNickname · 07/01/2016 21:24

Well done on your great control at lunch spare, hope your evening went as well!
I am aiming for 1200 cals on mfp but was under yesterday and will be under again today. I was forced to be extra good today as I forgot my purse and didn't take any lunch with me!! I was rushing around 4 different offices and had pulled into a services to get a Waitrose salad when I realised. So all I had to eat until I got home was 3 rice cakes with cottage cheese and a banana!! Needless to say I was starving when I got in but had arranged to go for a run with my neighbour so couldn't really eat much then either, although I did have one of the kids cheese dipper things which I was very surprised was only 137 cals. Dinner was a Portobello mushroom with rocket on top, 2 veggie sausages and some veg so only 711 cals so far. Feel like that is too low but I don't want to eat just for the sake of it and I am genuinely not hungry at the moment. I suppose it is more than I would have eaten if I was doing 5:2.
My absolutely highlight of today is that for the first time ever I ran 5k!! It did take near enough 40 mins which if any of you are runners you will know is a crazily slow pace but I am just super chuffed I did it Grin
I think I will join you in weighing in on a Friday Milo as that gives me time to make up for any weekend indulgences!!
Keep it up everyone Smile

sparechange · 07/01/2016 21:49

I resisted the drinks! Two slimline tonics in the pub and then home for baked chicken and quinoa salad. Patting myself on the back and hoping the scales reflect my willpower...

sparechange · 07/01/2016 21:50

NewYear, great work on your run!
